i said a HEALTHY coping skill rebecca!
my blood is glowstick juice. thats why all my bones crack when i move.
Explains how you bring light to everything around you too.
okay listen up this here will be a psa about bread brought on by that god forsaken breadstick meme and the realization that american and european breadsticks are not the same thing
this is a european breadstick (better known as grissini)
very long, vERY thin, very dry and crispy. you can either get them seasoned or you can get them plain
this is american breadsticks
i’ve never had them but i have been told they are soft and brushed with butter and sometimes seasoning
which looks more like a stick to you? that’s right, the first one!
american breadsticks are to me more like baguettes
baguettes come in many different sizes (including the same size as american breadsticks (which would be considered a small baguette)) BUT unlike american breadsticks baguettes are usually crisp on the outside (although they can be bought soft as well for you to bake at home the way you like them)
now where i come from we also call baguettes flutes and they’re available in even more sizes
like this ^ which is a mini flute/mini baguette. americans on the other hand call this a roll
BUT WAIT
this thing here ^ is ALSO a roll (it’s not even round why would you call it a roll america you confuse me). where i’m from, this would be called a bun as it’s a soft piece of bread, very easy to handle.
a bun in america tho is this
like the things you use for burgers! (granted, this is also called a bun where i’m from so it’s not like a massive issue of conflict but the roll thing confused me)
on the topic of weird differences in bread and names this
is a biscuit in america (yet another thing we would call a bun in denmark but that’s not the point i’m trying to make) while this
is a british biscuit WHICH IN TURN is called a cookie in america. coNFUSING!
so all in all, bread and languages and culture is weird af and the breadstick meme makes a lot more sense when you know what type of breadsticks people are referring to (which i assume are the american ones bc why would you wanna steal grissini like they’re good but not tHAT good)
anyways this has been a psa about bread i hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as i enjoy eating bread
It didn’t even get into scones and pastries….
And not even muffins…
*clears throat* SO this here is a british scone
but wait isn’t that what americans call biscuits?? yes, yes it is. this is what americans call a scone
this is basically a chunk of butter-based bread with chocolate chips in it. sort of dry, tastes nice with a thin spread of butter or cream cheese..
on the topic of pastry
this is what americans refer to as danish pastry. being danish myself i am deeply offended by this because this is NOT how our pastries look. plus that’s a croissant in the middle which is definitely not even close to being a danish pastry but more on that later.
these are beautiful examples of true danish pastries, which are usually made from a puff pastry-like dough and often filled with jam and/or custard and covered very lightly with icing. the name “danish pastry” is very misleading, and in danish it is called “viennese bread”, as it’s made from a method going back to ancient vienna.
the viennese pastry techniques were studied by a french baker, who brought them with him to france, where this
was created. this is a pain du chocolat (literally “bread with chocolate”). some americans think a pain du chocolat is a danish pastry. IT IS NOT. it did however help inspire true danish pastries.
another french pastry is the croissant
which is supposed to look like this. they’re hollow in the middle and sometimes they come with chocolate filling inside and they taste heavenly. a true french croissant is some of the best pastry you will ever eat.
this is the american version of a croissant. i have nothing to say about this except smh…
moving on to muffins
this is an english muffin! another thing i feel like the americans would refer to as a “roll”, although i am not certain as my american person is currently asleep so americans feel free to correct me about this. anyways english muffins are served cut in halves, with a spread of butter, fried eggs, ham, and/or bacon.
this is an american muffin. kinda like a cupcake but ugly and more bready than cakey. this is where the term “muffin top” comes from. it is served as is.
this is a cupcake
known universally as a cupcake. thank god we can all agree on one thing tbh
now don’t even get me started on flatbread! every nation/region of the world seems to have their own interpretation of what a flatbread should be and i do not have the patience to lecture y’all about the 200+ types of it there is okay
anyways this has been bread experiences 2.0 i’m gonna go eat some toast
Y'all are so whinny idk if you’ve heard of this concept but DIFFERENT CULTURES USE DIFFERENT TERMINOLOGY FOR THINGS JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING ISN’T CALLED WHAT YOU MAY CALL IT DOES NOT MAKE IT WRONG‼️‼️‼️ Also A CROISSANT SANDWICH IS LEGIT JUST A CROISSANT WITH MEAT ON IT NOTHING DIFFERENT sorry for wanting to spice up y'alls boring ass food pallet god!
the drama in the bread fandom is real
BREAD FIGHT
The Goofy Movie is Problematic
Okay so in the opening scene it can be seen that Max has a Mickey phone in his room
As the Disney world goes it is a well known fact that Mickey, Donald and Goofy are best friends
So possibly this may just be a hidden Disney thing within the film and Donald and Mickey don’t exist alongside in the Goofy movie, BUT
It can be seen in ‘ On the Open Road’ and at the final concert That both Mickey and Donald exist in this world
That being said wouldn’t it be quite weird Max has a Phone based on one of his Dad’s best friends ??
OR
Is Mickey possibly famous in this universe as his face appears on other items in the film?
