"True but that could still be lonely…You know, you probably have to act like something…Mom, or wife…Queen. Do you ever just get to be Addy? I mean…Miss…."

"At times I prefer to be alone. There's so much to do to run your own place. And even then I have help. But, then you have Alpha business. I'm always Addy, darling. Always. Whether that Addy is the mother of two children, the wife of Mateo, or Queen of Marvelous Meadows or Alpha to my wolves. They're all just different sides. When I get to just be relaxing Addy or too lazy to do anything Addy, well, that's rarely ever seen by the people I do not let in."

"True…Maybe you just…. make them wait until you come back. It probably gets awful lonely doing all that work by yourself."

"Mm, depending who they were would depend on if I could trust them to leave them alone in my house. I'm never alone. Matty lurks around as do the children."

"Why don’t you take one of the newer slaves to…entertain you?"

"Mm, I could. But, I can't take them with me on some of the business I need to conduct."

okay, so, I know I've been kinda off the grid, but, y'know, spent some time with my grandparents, and my laptop still hasn't been fixed. Should be soonish, though. Sending it to them tomorrow. Anyway, I'm home. But, I don't know for how long, so, I'll try to be on as best as I can while I'm home.

Phoenix nodded her head slightly and looked back towards the ground before glancing up again. She chewed on her lip nervously before hesitantly asking what had been on her mind since Evan found out. “What happened to Dexter?” She asked quietly, tugging on the hem of her shirt again.

She scoffed. "If you think I'm going to indulge you in knowing what happened to him... you are sadly mistaken. He is in plenty of trouble with me. In the dog house, pun not intended, but, meant exactly how it sounds. See, you won't understand how severe him disobeying me is, but, it's a big no."

Phoenix quickly stopped and shook her head, running her fingers nervously through her hair. “Um, no, sorry, more like the second one. The why aren’t you beating me to a bloody pulp or just killing me off one. Yeah. Why that.”

She made a sound in her throat, her eyes rolling slightly. "I'm not beating you because you haven't broken my rules, yet. You may have lost me a Beta, but, I can always find a new one. One who will obey me when I know what's best for them. Second, I'm stressed enough as it is. Third, I'm in clothes that I don't want to get your blood all over."

Phoenix nodded and turned her eyes back behind her, reluctantly following after the woman. “Yes ma’am, I understand.” She said quietly, biting down on her lip nervously. Glancing up slightly she tightened her hands on her shirt. “Erm, I you don’t mind me asking…why?”

She raised her eyebrow and looked behind her. "Why what exactly, Miss Breyer?" She stopped walking and crossed her arms over her chest, narrowing her eyes. "Why am I giving you more rules? Why am I not beating you to a bloody pulp? Why what?"

Phoenix went back to fiddling with the hem of her shirt, but kept her eyes on the brunette as she spoke, remembering what she was told earlier. Her eyebrows creased in confusion, but she gave a small nod and murmured another small “Yes ma’am.” in response.

Addy nodded her head. "Good." She sighed as her mind started to wander over rules she should set in place. She clucked her tongue before she started walking back towards town. "I'll have to think about rules, and I'll give them to you tomorrow. Stay out of trouble until then. Understand?"
