I hate seeing people down play what Tyler Catastrophe has said and done. No, heās not being hated on for āthe crime of being too cringeā or being trans for being unattractive. Heās being hated on because:
He said an abuse victim had ārancid vibesā, all whilst crushing on her abuser, then said some pretty misogynistic stuff about her and about how its not his fault because āmen arenāt raised to be clean! He wasnāt abusing her ok?!!ā Which just pushes that harmful stereotype and gender roles like itās normal.
He called himself two spirit whilst not being Native American, lied about it multiple times, misused terms for poc confidently and used them to gain sympathy. Heās also pretended to be a person of colour online?? Thatās literally insane, we struggle everyday and he wants this??? Also the way he was talking about āthe land and its peopleā and how much it means to him. Itās not your land? Your people are the ones who helped colonise that land, its not yours. The white saviour complex is clear to me when i see a vid of him talking about poc.
Didnāt tell people the crash he got in was his fault, and constantly uses it for pity points to get people to buy his jewellery that isnāt worth the amount he charges for it. Especially since he copies a lot of his work, itās not even original.
Also he downplayed the knife crime in the UK. Holy shit this one pmo. Like, you want to move to England yet know nothing about how differently the crimes here work to America. You cant bring a gun to the knife fight if the country you moved to doesnāt allow guns. Youāre just gonna get stabbed, and people here get stabbed for anything at any time. Doesnāt matter who you are, where youāre from or what youāve been through.
I donāt like how people misgender him, and bully him for things he canāt control or ignoring that he is a victim of abuse and has been through so much trauma that was not his fault. He deserves criticism but some ācritiquesā are just genuinely not trying to help him in any way and are just being said to hate on him for all the wrong reasons. Tyler being a bad person does not mean transphobia and homophobia are suddenly ok and only hurts fellow queer people. I also hate how people are trying to make him another lolcow as if the whole point of lolcowing is to make someone just commit su1cide. Thereās no way around that and imo itās inhumane to call or treat people like ālolcowsā.
However, telling people that āThis has gone on long enough! Just leave the misogynistic, racist alone already!ā As if he owed forgiveness just because the internet is mean. His apology didnāt include the fake account he made to defend himself, his apology didnāt once show him giving a clear apology to Shubble and he didnāt apologise for his misogyny either. And the fact he even made a fake account shows that he isnāt sorry, he isnāt even trying to better himself because he wants to become a better person. Heās made his apology to get forgiveness from the people he hurt which isnāt a true apology.
