Fun-fact about Romeo from Eric Stirpe:
Some of you may already know this, but originally, when Romeo blows up Champion City in episode 5, he was going to teleport all the residents to Beacontown first!
I think about this a lot (as I do with all of Stirpe's asks, it's really a goldmine). And it diiiid kiiiind of canonically happen, because you can still see people from Champion City wandering around Beacontown since the developers forgot to get rid of them along with the actual scene.
Did Romeo save them out of "kindness?" Or to save face as Jesse?
Both answers have flaws. At first, I thought that I wouldn't be very surprised if he really did just kill all those people on a whim because he's done some INSAAANE stuff in the Underneath. But then, I realized that Romeo has proved time and time again that he prefers murder as a last resort--like with Xara, the Sunshine Institute (although that could be seen of more of an "eternal punishment" type thing rather than mercy), the prisoners in the tower he made for Beacontown, and even Jesse himself.
He could have easily killed any of those people. But he didn't.
So it is a little odd that he'd commit homicide against an entire colony of people for little to no reason. But under the assumption that he actually DID save them, it could be safe to say he saved the citizens simply because those are his.... much below minimum morals.
It wouldn't really make sense if he saved them because he wanted to keep the Jesse act. If he wanted to do that, he wouldn't have exploded the entire city in the first place.
In conclusion? Romeo doesn't actually enjoy straight up murdering people from what I can tell!!!!! Tormenting them for the rest of their lives and eating popcorn while his hamsters go through his dungeons and dragons campaign is a different story 😬😬😬😬
I really do think that he was REALLY heated during that moment, considering he kills Xara as an alternative. He even says later that "it's like it wasn't even [him]."
^^^ I actually have a lot to say about that line so stay tuned
It would be more funnier if you understand Thai uh. Anyway.
