I'm a practicing digital artist and I've joined this site to share some of the pictures I've drawn. I've been working for a year now with Clip Studio Paint and a Wacom Cintiq 16 to draw fanart of stuff I like. I'd like to improve in all sorts of areas related to drawing and coloring, and I hope my art will please you as I strive to improve!
Please feel free to repost or modify my art as long as you attribute me in conjunction with the work. You can assume that all my art is posted with a CC BY 4.0 license. Also, if you do use my art in your own creations, please let me know because I'd love to see it!
Here's one more post to cap the six fanarts project that I worked on this spring. Thank you very much for the people who gave suggestions on drawings - it really provided some fun variety for what to draw! Like I said when I first posted the suggestion, I wasn't sure if I had enough followers interested in giving suggestions, but in the end I got 4 suggestions. So that's a lot better than how I thought this might go!
When I posted the request for suggestions, I also asked as extra credit for elaborations on why the suggester liked the character and suggested them. With the images now done, I'd also like to give my thoughts on the characters and the process of making the images. So please click below if you'd like to see the individual pieces as well as some rambling from me about the topics.
Ceres Fauna (requested by @redrustwolf)
This request came just after Ceres Fauna retired from virtual YouTubing, and Redrustwolf commented "my favourite of the Hololive en girls even if she is not part of them anymore, her laugh and charm were always great." I agree quite a bit: I really enjoyed her streams when she was on. I already drew a farewell image for her when she was retiring, but that was just an image of her hand, so I thought that doing a 'proper' character portrait as a follow-up was a great idea!
I thought I got the energy of her personality really well through here, and I was pretty happy with the gold glister of her apple. I've sorta kinda figured that I won't be drawing former virtual YouTubers anymore (because I often get inspiration from recent events), but making an exception in this case and drawing Ms. Fauna again was quite pleasant!
Celeste (requested by Ken Bladehart on YouTube)
This is one of the summons from Granblue Fantasy and it was inspired by a playthrough that I recorded (achoo) for Granblue Fantasy Relink. Celeste doesn't appear in that game, but the character she's tied to, Ferry, does, and because Ferry's backstory was one of my favorites, it was suggested to me that Celeste would be a fun topic.
And it was pretty fun! I don't think I've drawn a big puffy dress before and I do admit that it ended up pretty messy, but it was still interesting figuring out how to structure it. I also really like the color scheme on her. Her expression turned out quite fun, even though I didn't set out to make her look like the 'Nah, I'd win' meme, but that's what I find fun about drawing is when sometimes it goes in unintended but still fun directions.
Neneko (requested by my nephew)
I feel like my nephew isn't huge for manga and anime, but he's got a soft spot for cats, which is why I think he likes My Sister, the Cat. In addition to requesting this, he borrowed me the first volume of the manga to read for inspiration. It's a cute enough slice of life manga - I didn't think it was ground-breaking, but the cat designs in it are quite fun to read along.
I really haven't drawn very many anthropomorphic animals, so this was a really neat opportunity to practice drawing a cat. Neneko's expression is really on point for a cat, that sort of default serious even with a wealth of emotions, and I liked getting her intense eyes realized.
Shinzo (not a suggestion, wanted to draw this fanart)
At this point I unfortunately ran short of suggestions and couldn't do the entire challenge with suggestions alone, so I decided to draw a couple of less-obvious character choices as my 'own' suggestions. I've been re-reading the Pathfinder adventure path 'Season of Ghosts' because I'd really like to run this RPG at some point, and the merchant Shinzo is one of the most compelling NPCs that Paizo has done lately for Pathfinder so I thought he'd be a good topic. (I think the Pathfinder adventure paths in general have improved the last few years in overall flow and connectivity between a path's individual adventures, which means that NPCs like Shinzo stand out, but that's digressing from the point of this post).
I have to admit that I'm not entirely satisfied with how I drew the bric-a-brac that Shinzo carries on his person. His official art feels even more cluttered with satchels and items but still seems more cohesive. Meanwhile, in my image they're sparse but really just stick out due to their clashing colors. But I was still happy with working on his expression and his overall pose, so it wasn't a total bust.
Entirely unintentionally, both characters on the left of the six panels ended holding apples. There's nothing in 'Season of Ghosts' itself saying that Shinzo is connected to apples, but I really thought that it fits his character!
Briareos (not a suggestion, wanted to draw this fanart)
Another image that I decided to do for myself in lieu of further suggestions. A local art house theater recently showed the 1988 Appleseed OVA, which I thought was a real hoot. And I've liked Briareos' design since seeing the 2003 movie, so I really wanted to draw him regardless.
This image offered me a lot opportunities to practice topics in art that I usually don't cover - in particular, drawing mechanical details. Figuring out Briareos' face was a fun experience! His design here is mainly inspired by the 2003 movie version, which I think looks rad, but I also took this opportunity to just come up with a bunch of my own stuff (the rifle in particular was something that I just made up as I went along). The most fun part was drawing his poofy pants and coloring in the combat camo. In a lukewarm defense of Rob Liefeld, I kinda get why he likes using this motif!
The wyrm (requested by @zardx)
This was one more suggestion that I got late in the project. I haven't played Drakengard and Zardx unfortunately did not provide any background on why they wanted this character drawn, so I can't comment on the character themselves. However, I definitely was interested to take a shot that drawing such a monstrous creature that deviates quite a bit from regular human anatomy.
The wyrm has a really crazy skull-face design and I hope that I captured it alright. It was certainly interesting to figure out how it should work out. The wyrm in the game is lit from the bottom and I enjoyed painting that into the image.
One of my blind spots in art for sure is realizing textured surfaces. The wyrm definitely has a scaly skin with shadows visible on its texture, and I did my best but still feel like it was a bit lacking. I also had the full intent to draw the wyrm from a frog's eye view to make it look more imposing, but I still ended up drawing it pretty straightforward. I think I need to take a crack at it with a more standard humanodi figure before trying it again with a non-standard monstrous design.
I've wanted to reply to this post for a while, but I only just had time today. You did an excellent job drawing the wyrm; I chose it because, well, it's a spectacular boss and the design is amazing.
Thank you very much, I'm happy to hear that it turned out well! It was an interesting challenge to draw this spooky creature, so it was a fun suggestion.
Marvel Character Collection
8 Marvel comics characters that I made sketches of. I'm planning on running a Marvel Multiverse RPG game at a convention this summer and I thought it would be fun to have custom portraits on the character sheets. Please see below for individual portraits.
An updated design for my Fabula Ultima character that I previously drew here. The character started as a Rogue/Wayfarer but a story opportunity presented itself to take some levels in Mutant so I came up with this design. The limb was inspired by sea urchins and lionfish fins so it has a rather oceanic design, but I ended up taking lightning effects instead of anything sea-themed. The blue skin color is probably an unconscious X-Men reference.
This is a design for a character in a game of Fabula Ultima that I recently joined. I ended up making a rogue/wayfarer, and no one had gone for the 90's anime elf aesthetic with the big pointy sideways ears so that was my go-to. Fabula Ultima is a TTRPG steeped in retro anime and RPGs, so my main inspirations for this character's design were characters like Lina Inverse from Slayers, Marle from Chrono Trigger and Karna from Ys: Memories of Celceta.
QU4RTZ from Love Live Nijigasaki. I don't have anything interesting for the holidays this year either, but I hope you enjoy these sketches. Happy holidays and a happy 2026!
I've been streaming Super Robot Wars Y for a couple of months now and intend to keep it up for at least a couple more, so I wanted to make a fun intermission picture for when I take breaks mid-stream. I hope you enjoy!
Shirakami Fubuki and Omaru Polka from Hololive. This is based on their yearly Commando watchalong. I really hope we get another watchalong this year, too!
