He gasped slightly and went over to help untangle Cecil. “My apologies. I should have warned you before I started speaking…” Once the man was untangled, the Spectator managed a smile. “Well, it was a good show nonetheless. I enjoyed it. And thank you for painting me in a good light. I hope the other residents in this town treat me as kind as you do.”

Cecil grinned cheerfully to him, brushing himself off.

"I’m glad you liked the show so much," he chuckled. "I do hope that this town treats you well. I’m sure most people will, but there are always those who don’t care about other’s feelings."

"Yes, it was grand. You really have a nice voice." He chuckled. "And as for the people who don't care about others... why should I care about them? I AM a multiversal entity, after all. They cannot harm me by conventional means."

The Spectator watched the event unfold carefully. What had just happened? Still, he smiled. “It appears you have been keeping a secret from me… would you please explain what just happened? I’m a bit lost.” He wasn’t judging. He wasn’t angry. He was just curious. Curious and kind.

The collar around the boy’s neck blinks and in a flash a small green, glowing dog takes his place. He a bit solemnly trots over to where the Spectator was, dropping the ball at his feet before with another blink of the collar he changes back to a boy. “..I..I’m really a ghost dog.”

He couldn't believe it. A ghost dog that could turn into a boy? How interesting! He knelt down to Cujo's level and put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, don't be afraid. I won't hurt you or hate you for it... in fact, I think this makes our friendship stronger. You confided in me... and I won't betray your trust." He gave a wink. "Would you prefer to be a dog right now more than a boy?"

The ball goes over his head and instinct kicks in. The boy lunges onto all fours and runs after it, jumping up in the air and catching it in his mouth. It wasn’t till he skidded to a halt he realized his mistake. He slowly turns around and looks to the Spectator.

The Spectator watched the event unfold carefully. What had just happened? Still, he smiled. "It appears you have been keeping a secret from me... would you please explain what just happened? I'm a bit lost." He wasn't judging. He wasn't angry. He was just curious. Curious and kind.

He chuckled. “Nice catch, Cujo! Awesome job.” He caught the ball easily. “Alright, back up a little more. I’m going to throw it farther.”

He grins at the praise. His feet shuffle slightly as he then backs up. “Alright. Alright I’m ready for it.” He says excitedly.

The Spectator threw the ball a little harder this time, not making it ark so much. He wasn't throwing like a major league pitcher, but he wasn't holding back as much either.

He looked at the boy. Obviously, there was more to him than just a mere child… but anyways… He chuckled and squeezed the ball a bit. “Alright… we’ll start off easy.” The Spectator gently tossed the ball to Cujo, making it ark slowly.

He backs up and catches the ball in his hand. How he wanted to chew on the small red object. But he holds back and tosses it back to the Spectator.

He chuckled. "Nice catch, Cujo! Awesome job." He caught the ball easily. "Alright, back up a little more. I'm going to throw it farther."

The Spectator grinned. “Catch sounds like a wonderful idea.” Suddenly, they were in a park. A rather deserted park, but a park nonetheless. “I hope you don’t mind… I figured my powers would get us here quicker than walking.” A ball appeared in his hand. It was small and red. “Is this okay?”

The boy looks around, squinting slightly at the sudden bright sunlight. His grip tightens on the Spectator’s hand before releasing. “Wow there’s so much space.” He just wanted to run around it forever. “Yeah I don’t mind.” He didn’t pay much mind at all. There were hills to roll down oh this was going to be fun. His eyes then zero in on the ball. His feet shuffle on the grass. It was hard for him not to be reverting to his canine instincts.

The Spectator was giddy. Absolutely giddy. Few other words could describe the feeling he had. He’d loved the show. It was interesting, informative, and entertaining. He decided to not waste another moment. He sat down the radio he’d made appear and suddenly appeared in the studio, a big grin on his face. “Well, now… that was the best, the best, radio show I’ve ever heard, Mr. Baldwin.

Cecil jumped when The Spectator suddenly appeared, falling out of his chair, all tangled up in his headphone cord.

"Well, I’m very happy to hear that," he chirped, untangling himself slowly and grinning brightly. "I’m sorry there wasn’t too much to report on today." Cecil stood up, smiling to The Spectator cheerfully.

The Spectator wondered what the kittens, and the cat, looked like. In fact, he wondered just what Cecil was talking about. It was so interesting, he couldn’t stop smiling. He continued to listen, completely enthralled with the show.

Cecil continued, chattering about the Night Vale High Spiderwolves and the construction of an addition to Rico’s Pizza and once groaning about Steve Carlsburg, the show eventually rolling to a close, Cecil purring out his “goodnight, Night Vale, goodnight” before shutting the mic off.

"C-Can we go chase something?" Chasing was his favorite.

He chuckled nervously. “I think that that would be a bad idea… people don’t like being chased… I was thinking more along the lines of food or games or movies or something…”

"O-oh." His free hand fiddles with the hem of his shirt. To him chasing was a game he loved to play. His bottom lip sticks out as he thinks of other things to do. He was about to say play fetch but then he remembered little boys didn’t fetch. "Uh..catch?"

The Spectator gave the child a soft smile. “Very well. I will trust your judgement. Don’t think I won’t be watching out for you, though.” He chuckled and shook Cujo’s hand. “My name is the Spectator… what’s yours?”

The man spoke weird. His fingers wrap around the other’s hand and he follows him out of the building. “I’m Cujo.” He says.

"Nice to meet you, Cujo." He thought a moment. "What would you like to do now?"

He didn’t have to breathe, a perk to not having any internal organs. “Well, I saw you enter and I followed. One so young as yourself should not walk around all alone…” The Spectator still smiled and extended his hand, leaning down a bit in an attempt to seem less threatening. “Shall I escort you out of here?”

"Uh.." He gets a bit of a shiver, but it wasn’t from being cold. How did he not sense him following him? "I can fend for myself." He says defensively before looking down. "Besides, not like much bad could happen to me." He was already dead so it was harder to hurt him. He looks to the hand and naturally he takes it. "…Thank you."

The Spectator gave the child a soft smile. "Very well. I will trust your judgement. Don't think I won't be watching out for you, though." He chuckled and shook Cujo's hand. "My name is the Spectator... what's yours?"

The Spectator chuckled at the sight of the balloons. "Well, now... this is a pleasant surprise. Heh, even if I am not a resident, I feel so very welcomed here." He poked the balloons gently, not wanting to pop them just yet.

The boy picks himself up from the ground, lightly dusting off his bum. “I..I just didn’t think anyone would be in this dusty place.” His nose wrinkles as his senses were still high in this form. How could someone think with such a stuffed nose?

He chuckled softly. “Sorry for startling you… I simply noticed you because, well… you’re not “normal”, are you? Don’t worry. I’m not either.” He grinned more. “I do not have a name, but most call me the Spectator. It is nice to meet you, Sam.”

"The Spectator?" Sam asked inquisitively. "Are you like The Doctor? Like a timelord? They seem to have title like that… And yeah… as much as I wish to be normal… I’m not…"

"Ah, no, no... I am not a Timelord. Honestly, I am unsure what I am, but I've been hearing about this Doctor fellow quite often... I must meet him eventually." He chuckled. "Trust me, Sam. Normal is boring. I live in the weird, the wild... the interesting is my sustenance."

"Universes, worlds, people… Life itself… Although, don’t think I’m omnipotent. I’m not by any means." He chuckled slightly. "An Irken? Huh… well, I only recently discovered this universe… And what is it that Irken do? Or… what are they good at?"

Oh.. right. The whole… ‘multiverse’ thing. 

- - Tak often shoved the fact out of her mind that there were so many other universes, some even so very much like her own! It was a bit odd to think that somewhere out there, another version of her could exist, perhaps drifting about, lost in space much like she had been..

But, no matter. No reason to think about it now, it wasn’t important. The other’s question made Tak’s antennae twitch as she contemplated the best way to respond. Surely telling this stranger that her kind conquered planets could not be a good idea. Even if she was no longer one with the Empire. - -

We fight. I’m a trained soldier. I was almost an Elite, in fact. Those are, the best of the best.. Though it seems as if cruel fate has other plans.

Not that I’m sure I even believe in destiny. It’s nicer to think that than to realize you just got the short end of luck, however.

Why do you spectate?

He took notice of the twitching. Perhaps it was a hint of stress? One of his questions must have been the cause. "Oh, a trained soldier, eh? I've always found civilizations that fight to be incredibly interesting. Mainly because they seem so organized, and yet... the fighting itself ends in futility." The Spectator chuckled to himself. "Why do I spectate? The same reason your kind fights: to fulfill a purpose."

The man in the all white suit smiled at the woman. She seemed out there, fun-loving… and had the faint scent of drugs on her. Still, it was always good to be polite. So, he gave his usual smile. “Hello there, ma’am. Who might you be?”

She smiled at the strange man, mostly because she wondered how he kept a white suit so clean.

"Hey, my names Shaundi."

He chuckled. "Shaundi. What an interesting name." He held out his hand. "I don't have a name, but you can call me the Spectator. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Shaundi."
