Not to be that guy but I kinda prefer how Pyke and Rett interact in canon over the general fanon. Don’t get me wrong I adore the version of Pykerett where they’re a fully realized married couple that tell each other everything, but I find that whatevers going on between them in canon is super compelling and under explored! They are the most important people in each other’s lives, but they seriously cannot for the life of them communicate with each other. Like, yeah, they’ve lived together for 10 years, own a dog together and took care of Dandy together, but I can almost guarantee Pyke doesn’t know how Rett lost his eye and arm. You’re telling me that they’ve lived together for a DECADE and Pyke never told Rett he worked at Polaris and that he’s being hunted by a literal TERMINATOR? Yet despite that, they’re arguably the closest relationship in the entire campaign and they make me crazy. My favorite part about their dynamic is while they protect each other, they also kinda enable each other which goes back into why their communication is so bad. Like, because these two men are so traumatized and emotionally stunted they’re scared to inquire further into the other’s past, which in turn allows them to avoid their own emotions. Oh my god. And despite them being so avoidant with their feelings it’s so clear that they love each other so deeply that it’s etched into the whole damn campaign. From the little things like Rett sewing Pyke’s jacket together or Pyke grabbing Rett a cup of coffee all the way to Pyke desperately trying to protect Rett from The Silent or Rett soothing Pyke after his PTSD attack, they care so deeply about one another that it’s not a stretch to say that they’re soulmates just from the canon perspective. To me, Pyke and Rett’s canonical relationship will never breach into romance in the traditional sense, but my god whatever’s going on ain’t platonic either. Like, would Pyke and Rett realistically ever hold hands or kiss? Nope. But are the last words on Pyke’s lips going to be Rett’s name? Definitely.
(Also to note: this isn’t meant to be a critique of pykerett shipping in any way, sorry if this came off like that! Please know I am a D1 Pykerett shipper🙏 I just wanted to talk about how they are in canon blehhh)

In the honour of pride month, I thought I'd share some of my journey up until now.
I was first introduced to the LGBTQ+ community, I think at the age of 13? Back then, I think it was towards the end of 6th grade, a close friend of mine had told me about it. Up until then I didnt even know that same sex attraction was a possibility (for me as well)- or at least, I didn't actively think about it.
Actually, when I think about it, I've probably had come into contact with some queer representation even before that, but I guess I simply didn't think it as any different than a hetero couple back them. For example, that one animation of YouTube (I sadly dont remember the title), where the heart of one boy desperately longed for another boy. I distinctly remember thinking of it as just a cute romance between two people. At that point, I was maybe 11 or 12 years old, I didn't think at all about the gender of the two in that animation. Thinking back, I believe that was my very first contact with queer representation.
When I was "formally introduced" to the topic and the community, I felt like a gate of endless possibilities had opened itself before me. Before that point in time, I had never really thought of the possibility that I could love a person of the same gender. Before that, back in, I believe it must have been 5th grade, I decided, yes decided, to have a crush on one particular boy from my class. That, however, lasted not even a full day before I lost interest in him again.
When I heard that there was so much more, I pretty much immediately did a little deep dive on sexual attraction and what would fall under which terms. I was fascinated, to say the least, and as soon as I found out that I could be attracted to women as well, I labeled myself as bisexual. I even had a bi flag printed out and put it up on my closet [how ironic, lmao], and when my mother asked what it was, my answer was basically: "oh that? Ah, well, it's... nothing." [Looking back that was quite cheesy and a bit stupid, but I can forgive myself. I was only 13 after all.]
Back then, I didn't really care if my parents found out. I had a mindset of "If they find out, oh well. If they don't, that's fine too."
That mindset changed a little bit when I discovered that I might be lesbian.
My "coming out" happened kind of against my will [more or less]. My family and I were in London for a one week vacation. I had a lesbian pin on me and we were looking for a place to eat lunch at Picadilly Circus. On one of the electric boards [because it was pride month back then as well, I think] there was a Coca Cola ad with LGBTQ+ flags with the name of the person who designed them and what they meant. My mother looked at the board, then back at my pin and probably concluded that 1+1=2.
And, sadly, she said the exact words I was scared of hearing. They were the only reason I hadn't told them myself until then. She said something along the lines of: "You're way too young to know that for your entire life." Which, to be honest, kinda really hurt. I felt invalidated. And it also hurt because I knew that she would say exactly that.
Luckily, she's quite supportive now [she even went to my fist CSD with me], at least concerning sexual preferences.
On the other hand, I still can't really talk to my parents regarding anything to do with gender and gender identity. My father thinks it's unnecessary, and my mother, even though I tried explaining it to her, seemingly just doesn't understand and also doesn't even bother to try. Both of them just kind of ignore it.
Which reinforces that feeling that sometimes, I'm just invisible to my entire family.
Presonally, I also don't quite understand my own gender very well. Over the years, I have though that I might be trans masc, then for some time I felt comfortable in my own body again, and I tough I might be a cis woman after all. I then realised, that most of the time, I feel like neither. Neither male nor female. But also not really something in-between. Most of the time, I just am. And so, I've settled on saying I'm genderfluid, while most of the time I might say I'm non-binary.
This, however brings one problem with it. The body dismorphia. I often feel isecure because of how feminine my body looks. Of couse, it's not a surprise, as I am AFAB, but I often feel like I'd rather have a flat chest. But then, when I feel comfortable in my body again, I doubt these feelings. I sometimes think that I would rather have top surgery than have to bind all the time, but then I think what of I regret it later? But then again, the body dysmorphia can get so bad, that I sometimes cry myself to sleep, wishing that I'd been born a flat-chested boy, instead of turning out how I am now.
In conclusion, both my sexual preferences and my gender are in a constant state of change, which makes a lot of things really confusing. That's why hearing from other members of the community having similar experiences and how they dealt with it feels very reassuring.
