A NEW HOME || PARA 001

After she finished texting Jesse back, Quinn pulled out of the parking lot she had been sitting in for the last few hours. While driving over to Jesse’s house all she could think about was is this going to work out? Her living with Jesse for the time being and then once the baby came would co-parenting work out for them. After pondering those thoughts for a little while she finally reached Jesse’s street and looked for his uncle’s house. He had given her the house number, but Quinn didn’t need it as soon as she pulled up and saw him sitting on the front steps. She pulled into the driveway and parked her car, before getting out. 

She walked around to the back door and opened it taking out her duffel bag which was full of the clothes she was able to grab when she was kicked out of her house. “Hey. Thank you for letting me stay here.” She said looking over at Jesse and then closing the door to her car. Quinn walked over to where Jesse was sitting and gave him a little smile. “I’m sorry, I know it’s kind of late.”

Jesse was sitting out on his front porch as his uncle- or as his uncle’s maid was fixing up Quinn’s room before she could leave for the night. Jesse messed with his hands trying to calm himself. How was this going to work? He hasn’t even told Rachel yet. He looked up to see a car pulling up and he slowly rose up as she approached him. 

“Hey, it’s no problem. Don’t even worry about the time. Emily is setting up your room right now. She can help you unpack and if you’re hungry I can make you a little something.” He led Quinn inside the huge home and he closed the front door behind them. “Is that the only bag you have?”

Quinn: It's not.

Quinn: Okay, I'll be there soon.

Quinn: You don't have to wait outside, I'm sure I'll find the house.

Jesse: Okay.

Jesse: It's a pretty big house. I'm fine with waiting outside for you, Q.

Quinn: Don't be. I got myself into this mess.

Quinn: That's okay, you don't have to figure all of it out right now.

Quinn: Would it be okay if I came over now? I've just been sitting in my car for the last few hours.

Jesse: But still...this can't be easy for you.

Jesse: Thanks.

Jesse: You what? Yes! Come now! I'll send you my location so you can get the address easier. I'll wait outside for you.

Quinn: Not great.

Quinn: He was pretty mad, but he did let me grab all my things before kicking me out of his house.

Quinn: Don't worry about Rachel. It doesn't bother me if you two are together..

Quinn: Is your place still an option to stay? Mercedes doesn't really have the room at her house for another person.

Quinn: And going home probably wouldn't be the best idea since my dad hasn't talked to me since he kicked me out.

Jesse: I'm sorry, Q.

Jesse: I don't want to be with her...I don't think. I don't know.

Jesse: You can stay here. I talked to my uncle about the situation and let him know you might need to come here. He said it was okay and he'd help us out with whatever.

Jesse: Rachel isn't happy...

Jesse: She broke up with me then begged for me back.

Jesse: It was annoying but I gave in so she would stop crying....I do plan on leaving her though.

Quinn was quite shocked when he touched the side of her face and hinted that his heart belonged to her. “Yeah, you’re probably right. I’m sure she’s not going to like it.” She said looking at him and sighing. “I’m going to tell Finn tonight when he gets back to his house after football practice. I’m pretty sure he’s not going to want me living there anymore so I’ll have to pack my things and I’ll see if I can stay with Mercedes for a little while.” When Jesse said he cared about Quinn, she couldn’t help but smile a little bit because deep down she did care about him. 

Quinn stood up and sighed. “Thank you for not pressing charges and I really am sorry about all of this. We should probably get going before the next bell rings.” She said and walked over to the door. Quinn wasn’t quite sure how tonight was going to go and she really hoped at the end of the night she had a place to stay. “I’ll text you later and tell you how it goes with Finn.”

“If you need a place to stay you can stay with me. I’ll tell my uncle. He’s really relaxed and laid back unlike my parents so I’m certain he would be okay with it. Just let me know how it goes with Mercedes and if not you’re more than welcome to stay with me. I’d prefer it actually. You can have your own room if you’d like. He’s filthy rich and has a huge house. We have room for you I can promise you that.”

Jesse smiled and nodded along. “I don’t think I really could have ever done that. I was just upset.” Jesse watched as she walked towards the door and he put his hands in his pocket. “Yeah, let me know. Like I said you’re welcome at my place. Even if you’re coming over late tonight. I don’t care.”

Quinn felt relieved when he said he wasn’t going to press charges. “I know it is and if you need some time alone to think about all of this I’ll leave you be.” She told him and then shook her head when he asked if she wanted him there when she told Finn. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. He’s going to be pretty mad and I don’t want him to take it out on you. I can handle it by myself, after all I did get myself into this mess.” Quinn said walking over and taking a seat at one of the desks. 

“Yeah, you need to tell Rachel. I’m sure she already knows I’m pregnant, but she doesn’t know it’s your baby. The sooner she knows the better.” Quinn sighed and thought about both their relationships were probably both over once they told the truth.  “I’m sorry Jesse. I really hope this doesn’t ruin things for you and Rachel. I know Finn and I are doomed, but you and Rachel don’t deserve that. I’m the one who lied.”

He nodded when she said she wanted to handle Finn on her own. “Okay, that’s fair.” He really thought about how this would effect his and Rachel’s relationship and he couldn’t help but laugh as Quinn said his relationship didn’t deserve this. “I don’t know. I mean Rachel is nice and all but she’s not it for me I know it. I think deep down she knows it.” He stood in front of Quinn and looked down to her before gently placing his hand on the side of her face. “We both know who my heart really belongs with and it’s not her.”

He took a step back to try and regain his composure. “I think I’ll tell her tonight at her place. So there’s no more commotion at school. Then I might break up with her. We’ll see. I’m not saying you and I have to become an item instantly or whatever but let’s be honest. I’m going to be in this child’s life and Rachel won’t take it or handle it well. Either way her and I are doomed to end. Even if you weren’t pregnant I wouldn’t be able to stay with her knowing I lov- really care about you.”

Quinn watched him go over and take a seat in one of the chairs. She looked over at him and thought about what she had done by lying about all of this. When Jesse touched her stomach she was a little surprised, but she quickly got over it. When he suddenly snapped out of his surprised mood and into what seemed to be angry, Quinn just looked at him and listened to everything he had to say. She felt a little sting when he mentioned the courts. Quinn didn’t want any of this to happen and she knew that anything that was going to happen in the future would be her fault because of the lie she told.

“First of all I’m telling Finn the truth once I’m done talking to you here. He’s going to find out sooner or later from someone and it’s best if it comes from me. Second of all, stop trying to threaten me Jesse. What I did was wrong and I know that, but the fact that I’m telling you now has to count for something.” Quinn remarked and then shook her head. “Last but not least no judge is going to take a child away from their mother, when the mother is capable of taking care of the baby. You can be there for the baby and help raise the baby if you want. After all you are the father and I’m not denying you that relationship with your child. Every child deserves a father and a mother.”

Jesse was shocked to say the least when Quinn said she was going to tell Finn about the baby being his. Jesse nodded along and then he really thought about it and Quinn had money backing her just like he did so why fight her for the baby when she was going to let him help? He ran his fingers through his hair and let out a shaky breath. “Fine. Fine. I won’t press charges against you. This is just all a lot to take in, okay? I knew something was up when I first got here and this is a lot.” Jesse rested his hands on one of the desks in the room and then turned back to face the blonde.

“Do you want me there when you tell Finn?” Jesse looked to her with soft eyes his whole demeanor changing. He wanted to be there for her. For his kid. After all he was in love with her. No matter how much he tried to get those feelings for Rachel he just couldn’t. By nature and science and whatever else logic you could think of Rachel was a perfect match for Jesse but his heart was with Quinn and seeing her every day with Finn killed him. Now he could have her though except for one small thing; Rachel Berry. “Do you want me to tell Rachel. I am dating her after all and this will effect our relationship for sure.”

Quinn wasn’t surprised to hear it was already posted on JBI’s website and that everybody knew. When Jesse followed her down the hallway to her locker she sighed and tried to think of a way to explain things. She grabbed her books out of her locker and stuffed them into her school bag. Quinn shut her locker and then turned to Jesse. The truth was out and even more was about to come out. “Come in here, before somebody hears what you are saying.” Quinn said pulling him into an empty classroom and running her fingers through her hair. She knew she couldn’t hid the fact that the baby wasn’t Finn’s any longer and that Jesse deserved to know the truth now and so did Finn. 

“The baby is yours. I lied and said it was Finn’s to make it things less complicated.” Quinn said looking down at the ground not wanting to look him in the eyes. “Listen, it was selfish. I did it for myself. I’ll give you that. It’s not right and I shouldn’t have lied. I’ve probably ruined a lot of friendships and my relationship by lying about who the father is..” She looked up at him and shook her head a little bit. “I’ll tell Finn today, if this news doesn’t get out and reach him before I do.

Jesse found himself being pulled into an empty classroom and he looked to her his eyes in a slit as she admitted to the fact that the baby was his. “You what?” Jesse had no idea how to respond. The kid was his. He was going to have a kid. Jesse wanted to yell at her but he just sat down in one of the chairs and held his head in his hands. “Oh my God.” Jesse sat there for a moment in silence before he looked up to Quinn and then down to her stomach. She wasn’t showing much yet but it was enough that if you looked long enough you could tell. “That’s my kid.” Jesse’s voice was soft and he rose up from the chair and walked up to Quinn. 

He stood there letting silence fill the air before he gently placed his hand on her stomach. “My kid?” He felt tears well up in his eyes. Jesse had always wanted to be a father but he never expected it to happen so soon. He finally had processed what she said about telling Finn the truth and he shook his head his hand still on her belly. “No, you don’t need to tell Finn the truth. You can keep lying to him if you want to.” Jesse paused for a moment to really process what he was going to say next. “Keep living in your fantasy land, Quinn. Enjoy it while you can because no matter how much you tell Finn it’s yours I’m going to get that baby. I wonder how the courts would feel to know you lied about the father and kept the truth from the real birth father.” He dropped his hand from her stomach and his look changed from soft to hard in a matter of seconds. “That’s my baby and you had no right to keep that from me and I promise you that you can lie all you want but once that baby pops out I will be there and I will raise my child.”

“Q, I’m sorry but I just can’t have a pregnant cheerleader on my team.” She was kicked off the cheerios for being pregnant and Quinn knew the whole school was going to find out her little secret, if they hadn’t already. Quinn held the tears she felt in her eyes and stood up from the chair. She kept her hand on the door knob for a few seconds before turning it and finally opening the door fully. When she walked out she saw Jesse standing in the corner. “Not now and not here.” She looked over at him and started to walk down the hallway. Quinn looked up and saw the other teenagers looking at her and whispering. Her secret was out and this is what it was going to be like from now on. She was going to get all the stares and all she was going to be known as was the girl that got knocked up at 16. She went and grabbed her books out of her locker quickly, hoping nobody would come over to her.

Jesse was at his locker when he heard people talking and buzzing around with their phones. He had asked JBI what the big deal was and all he told him to do was check out his website for the hottest story McKinley has ever seen or heard of. Jesse whipped his phone out and checked the site just to see the hottest news. Quinn Fabray was pregnant. Jesse lurked through the halls and when he couldn’t find her he had a feeling she may be in Sue’s office. He stood outside the door waiting to see if the blonde would exit and when she did his arms were folded over his chest and he was not happy. “Oh? I think I have a right to talk to you about this, Quinn.”

He stormed after her as she went to her locker and he leaned against the one next to hers. “Everyone knows. It’s all over JBI’s website. You’re pregnant with Finn’s baby?” Jesse then looked around and lowered his voice, “That’s hard to believe since we were still a thing when you first started dating him and you just admitted to me the other day that I took your virginity. The time table here on his site doesn’t add up. Is the baby really Finn’s or is it.... is it mine?”

“Hm, maybe.” Quinn laughed a little thinking about the four of them on a double date. When he moved closer, Quinn moved her books closer to her stomach so he couldn’t get close enough to feel her little bump if he decide to move closer again. “Trust me, I won’t. You have no idea.” She mumbled under her breath before backing up a little bit. Quinn regretted sleeping with Jesse and she pushed the memories of that night away, but now being pregnant and seeing Jesse again they were coming back. “Listen, yes I chose to sleep with you that night. That was a big mistake and it’s never going to happen again. I’m with Finn now, I chose him over you. And now you’re with Rachel. So none of this even matters.”

When Quinn told him it was a big mistake for sleeping with him he felt a pang in his heart. Jesse didn’t regret sleeping with her at all and to know she regretted letting him be her first killed him. He clenched his jaw and kept the space between them minimal before going on, “You’re right. I’m with Rachel now and she’s a much better kisser than you. I couldn’t be happier. I’m also glad I’ll be taking all the male leads away from your little boyfriend. It’ll be a pleasure to see him suffer and have Rachel on my arm.” Jesse slit his eyes as he spoke to Quinn and let out a huff before taking a step back. “You can say you regret me all you want, Q. We both know the truth and you only ran to him because you wanted the security he offers your stupid image. It’s fine though. I’ll be happy with Rachel.” He started to walk away but then stopped in his tracks again to face her once more. “Though if Finn gets to be too annoying or mouth breathy don’t hesitate to give me a call.”

When Jesse said that he was dating Rachel it came as quite a shock to her. Rachel had mentioned in glee club that she was dating somebody but Quinn never thought it’d turn out to be Jesse. “Yes, I’m well aware who Rachel is. When you see Finn try not to call him the Jolly Green Giant, I don’t see that ending well for either of you. I guess so since we’re both in Glee Club now..” Quinn said sighing and shaking her head. She wasn’t happy to see Jesse here, especially after what happened between them and with her now being pregnant. “Well, that’s good to know but you couldn’t steal me away from Finn even if you wanted too.”

Jesse raised his brows at the information he was just given. Jesse didn’t take her for one to join the glee club but he wasn’t complaining. “Oh, great! Maybe the four of us can double date sometime.” Jesse put on his signature smirk then laughed at the idea of him not being able to take Quinn from Finn. “I did it once before. Though technically he came around after me but you couldn’t stay away from me for some time before you chose him. I get it though. Being a cheerleader and him a football player. Super cliche but I get it.” Jesse took a step closer to the blonde feeling his confidence come back. “Let’s be honest here though, Q. You may have chosen him but I will always have something of yours he’ll never have.” He lowered his voice making sure no one had heard, “I was the one you chose to sleep with. I was the one you chose to lose your virginity to. Never forget that, Fabray.”

Quinn was walking down the hallway with her books against her chest and her head down. She was starting to show and people couldn’t help but stare at her. It wasn’t everyday someone at McKinley High School in the small town of Lima Ohio ended up pregnant. Finding out she was pregnant was quite a shock to Quinn. She had only slept with someone once and suddenly she was having a baby. Quinn knew that Finn wasn’t the father, but she convinced him that he was and didn’t even bother telling the real father. Deep down she knew that it was wrong, but she did it anyways because she figured she’d never see the real father again. Quinn walked down the hall and stood outside the door to her classroom, not wanting to enter just yet since the classroom was empty still. She was looking the opposite way when she heard someone call her name and she looked up to see a face she never thought she’d see roaming the halls of McKinley. “Jesse? What are you doing here?” Quinn shifted uncomfortably and gripped her books a little tighter.

Jesse couldn’t get the words out that he wanted. He took a moment and finally spoke up, “Yeah, hey. Well, I’m here for my girlfriend.” Part of Jesse didn’t want to tell Quinn who he was dating but what was the point? She had made her decision and chosen to stay with Finn over him. “Rachel Berry, you might know her. We met by chance and she’s in the glee club here. She wouldn’t be with me fully because I was part of VA so I’ve transferred for her. To be with her. Just didn’t really realize or remember that you went here. So we may be seeing a bit more of each other then? Don’t worry though I’m not going to try and steal you away from the Jolly Green Giant. I’m very content with my relationship with Rachel.”

Jesse had just finished filing all the paper work with his uncle at McKinley and he was officially a McKinley Titan. When he had met Rachel at the library that day there was a force pulling him towards her. Maybe because she was just as talented as he was, maybe because she understood what it was like to be a diva. Either way they had an undeniable connection and Jesse couldn’t stay away from her. She claimed they couldn’t be together because of her team and since he was on the opposing team and Jesse couldn’t stand not being near her. He made a long and hard decision and he decided to leave Carmel High and come to McKinley. Though he wasn’t going to be with Vocal Adrenaline any longer he knew he would still get a Nationals win with the New Directions. Sure, they weren’t as great as VA but with his help he would lead the sorry team to victory.

He got his class schedule and Jesse shook principal Figgins’ hand as well as Mr. Schuester’s. He was now a member of the glee club as well and that announcement would be made later on in the day during their meeting after school. Jesse rose up from his chair and made his way into the McKinley halls to search for his first class. He turned around many corners until he found the right hallway. “Finally.” He made his way towards his English class and then he was stopped dead in his tracks. It was her. It was Quinn. It couldn’t be but his eyes were seeing correctly. He felt frozen to the ground and couldn’t moved. He hadn’t seen her since that fateful night. Did he go talk to her? Did he just keep walking past her? He shook his head and looked to his schedule once more and went to walk but his body wouldn’t let him. Seeing her felt like time had stopped and he had a decision to make. 

After a few moments of just standing there he decided he would just go to class. He went to walk once more and he started to walk past her but he couldn’t. He had to say something. He took a few steps back and was standing in front of the girl and he noticed something different about her. Her outfit looked strange as if she was hiding something. “Quinn?”
