It’d been about two weeks since Gabriel had the energy to get out, and really be involved in general society. It was slowly becoming winter, and seasons changing didn’t really fair well with his immune system -- he was almost positive Tasia was happy with him being out of her place of serenity finally. To say Gabe handled being sick well, was a complete lie. So now that he had some energy, and general health back, he decided to go down to the big bowl, and actually finally enjoy himself some.

He’d gotten a lane to himself, which could be considered sad and pathetic if people didn’t realize how content he was being alone at times. The alley seemed pretty packed at this time, which was a pro and a con of being there in the moment. When he’d heard some unearthly noise radiate from his stomach, that’s when hunger became an evident issue before he’d set his ball down and jogged up to the counter overhearing the clerk mention them being full and not having any available space, the distain in the others voice made Gabe chuckle.

“Hey...”, Gabriel called out to them, motioning them over to his side. “I have an opening on my lane. I don’t mind, it’ll help me keep an eye on mine while I get my food.” he suggested, giving them a warm smile waving off the cashier at the front desk. Yeah, part of him had wanted to be alone, but after having been in Amory for a good month or two now, he felt it was necessary to make friends in unlikely places.

Gabe’s arrival in town meant getting into contact with old friends, and meeting a whole lot of new ones. Being that he was such an open and friendly person, the young traveler felt it necessary to really get to know the community. Especially if he ever planned on setting himself up for life in Amory. His sister was here, a few old friends, and he’d already landed two jobs fortunately. If he was going to move in with Tasia, he felt it necessary to try and help her along the way because they were in close to the same boat.

It was time for his first shift at Anchor Shot, but he knew damn well consuming the merchandise probably wouldn’t be a good idea -- so he wanted to grab an espresso at Yo Jo, suddenly his eyes scanned his surroundings, and he spotted an extremely familiar face. Was that Edgar? It couldn’t be, when he finally got a proper look, much to his surprise, it was.

Gabe approached the other, a smile from ear to ear on his face -- almost like he was grateful to just see someone he knew -- even if their bond was a bit wonky due to the circumstances. “You know you stole my favorite table, right?” sometimes Gabe was overly playful, with the slightest smile peeking through cocking his head to the side eager to see how Edgar would react without realizing it was him at first.

Ever since Edgar had started working at the wellness center, going to work was far less enjoyable than it had been in the past. They rarely crossed paths, but even just seeing him down the hall was enough to put her into a foul mood. Making her way down the hall of her apartment building, she let out a relieved sigh of relief at the idea of unwinding with a glass of wine and a bubble bath, though the idea quickly vacated her mind the moment she saw a familiar figure sitting outside her door. “Gabe?”

It had only been a week since Gabe had arrived in Amory, he’d been staying in hotels, motels, anything of the sort while he figured out where he was going to go. The real reason he came to the town was to be closer to his younger sister, she’d always in some sense kept him grounded, and at his age he felt he needed that at this point in his life. Whether he was going to gain access to stability in that sense, was a different story.

The older Morales set himself outside Tasia’s apartment to wait for her arrival, nervous about what to say, or how she’d react considering prior to this he’d been traveling the globe in search of himself, if you will. Not a lot of people he kept in contact with, but he did try to call and check in on his baby sister once a month. When Tasia finally arrived, noticed him, he jolted for a moment due to a nervous tick. “Tasia... hi..”, he spoke softly.

“I know you’re probably wondering, what in the hell I’m doing here. Need a place to crash for a little while if you’re willing, I’m done with the disappearing act.. or at least, I’m trying to be?”, he sounded so unsure of himself, which was his normal demeanor, but a little more fear in his tone at this point.

Zahir had made a habit of doing whatever workouts outdoors that he could since moving to Amory, regardless of the weather. The crispness of the air only helped to fuel him on to break more of a sweat, if anything, and the picturesque view of the lake and the surrounding vistas provided a pleasant backdrop. It was one of the main reasons he had chosen to move outside of the city, if he was honest. As much as he loved NYC, he needed a way to be more active now that he was no longer playing and Amory provided enough outdoor fun to sate his needs.

He’d just finished his workout shortly before and was making his way back up towards the main area when he felt someone run into him, his view obscured by the towel he’d been using to wipe down his face. “Whoa,” he let out as he stumbled slightly, though he balanced himself easily and let out a chuckle at the other man’s apology. “Hey, man, don’t even worry about it. I’m good,” he assured, wrapping the towel around his neck. “I should’ve been paying more attention, but I don’t expect to find people out this way this time of day. You alright?”

Once Gabe had a sturdy sight on the stranger he’d just clashed with, he’d peered around the park trying to figure out how anyone could potentially be out this early considering the crispness of the air that surrounded them. Gabe was a little traveler, and he liked finding new spots where he could potentially go to be alone. Once he found this lake, he knew it was bound to be a spot for him, if he could convince himself to come when things began to get foggy.

“Yeah, I’m good! I didn’t actually expect anyone to be out this early -- though, i bet you can say the same thing?”, a chuckle leaving his lips, as his palm wiped at the back of his neck awkwardly. “Do you come out here a lot? I assume to work out, you seem like you’re sweating and its definitely not warm out today,” a smile made its way onto the man’s lips, offering this sincere apology for running into the other, and greeting as well.

Starter For: Open @silverliningstarters​ Where: Finch’s Lake

Gabe sat there, staring at the idea of getting into a rental boat to go along the lake. Part of him desperately wanted to, thinking maybe the serenity of the water would offer him some clarity about just why he was in Amory now. Of course a large part was his sister, but he couldn’t help but think maybe, just maybe... he was reverting back to old habits. Exploring places, people, things, out of boredom rather than potentially setting down roots. The indeisicive Morales desperately wanted some place to call home, but was Amory really it?

As he continued to contemplate whether or not he should take the boat, he realized that his stomach was getting louder, and louder. “Well... I guess that’s the sign I’ve been looking for...”, he said softly to himself, placing his palm flat on his stomach, before his eyes peered down that direction. A sigh slipped passed his lips before he began walking back up towards the exit to go find a little cafe to sit down and eat -- before he knew it, he ran smack dab into a person and stumbled backwards himself.

“I am so sorry?! I didn’t mean to do that, are you okay?” his voice showing panic, and his arms up as if he was going to catch them, even though he stumbled backwards himself.

An only child on his moms end, but his dad got around -- since @tasiamorales is his younger sibling. Both his mom and dad cut him off due to wanting him to marry rich, and he didn’t take that route by any means. Especially not after finding out about his first relationship.

Had a mutual agreement to stop talking to his parents, despite the hurt its caused him due to how close he used to be with his mom, he doesn’t understand why one small detail pertaining to his happiness is such a major thing.

He’s here to be with his younger sister, she’s always been able to keep him grounded, hes a little impulsive, and kinda wild. Wandering heart, feet, and mind and thats what gets him into trouble a lot.

Co-Workers -- he works at two places to help his sis with income and bills, so any co-workers whether they hate each other, or even love working together would be cool.

Negative Influential Friends -- gabe can’t keep away from drama, or negative influences, so someone he probably hangs around that isn’t the best, like gets him into crazy situations, and probably gets him in trouble a lot would be ideal!!

II. BIOGRAPHY.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Car accident, toxic religious beliefs, drug abuse, and manipulative behavior.

Gabriel Morales grew up smack dab in the middle of Staten Island, with a very traditional mother. Gabe knew his father thanks to the terms of his parents separation, though he didn’t spend much time with the man at all. Due to his upbringing, there wasn’t much he could do or say outside of anything his mother held near and dear to her heart – that included embracing himself and his sexuality for what it was. At about fifteen, Gabriel discovered his attraction to both genders, even those outside the two mainstream genders, but his mom was not happy about this realization. It stung, it stung the boy pretty deep as he and his mom had been close for so long, but it now seemed as though a part of him was being crucified for not living up to her expectations. An Italian Mexican boy from Staten Island, he wasn’t exactly sure where he fit in most times due to his intertwining cultures – and there wasn’t much of a Mexican culture, or community where he stayed.

To say that Gabriel struggled with his identity, and his heart as he got older would be an understatement. High school came around, and he begun spending time with some questionable characters. From some hints of addiction, to toxic behaviors within the friend group – the young struggling high schooler had to find a way out of such a mess and fast. It wasn’t easy for him, Gabe was a social butterfly and enjoyed being among crowds of people that allowed him to spread his wings, and open his mind. High school was a vicious period of time for the young Morales boy – from traditional unaccepting parents, to constantly running into the wrong crowds – it felt like trouble followed him wherever he went for the longest time.

Fast forward to college, slowly he’d stopped talking to his parents, and found a voice of his own. School was easier, the people had a lot of issues but seemed comfortable enough to be around, and that was all he needed. In comes Gabe’s first real experience with a guy, where things got a little tricky. Young Morales never saw himself playing out so many insane consequential ideas in the real world, till he’d met his first. This caused him to lose track of his classes, his relationships, his happiness for a long time, until he’d been convinced by the closest thing he had to family to cut the guy off completely. After an almost fatal car accident, Gabe knew it was time to give it up, despite how much it ached. Something about losing your first never truly feels right, and he had to sit in that pain for a year, realizing that part of him may still be naïve to people’s intentions, and goals in their personal relationships with him.

Coming from such a large family – thanks to his father’s adventures – he had to find his place in the world somehow, even if that meant cutting himself off from everyone he knew and loved completely. For a good three years, that’s exactly what he did. Exploring the shady parts of New York, and the more civilized – which was where he met what he thought was the woman of his dreams. She tried, and tried to help him clean up his act, but at the time Gabe somehow knew he wasn’t ready to settle down, to set himself in one place. Nine months later, that relationship ended and Gabe went back to wandering the city in search of where he was supposed to be, what he was meant to do, or who he was meant to be. Nothing ever seemed quite right – at the time he thought it was because of his hormones, teenagers, right? Quickly realizing this had a lot to do with how deeply he got invested in people, things, environments, and how deeply it affected him when it was all said and done.

After that, the newly – yet again – heartbroken Morales decided to travel across the world to get a better perspective of things. Still cutting himself off from everything he knew, and everyone he loved, trying to pin down what exactly was the reason he couldn’t quite settle, and calm his itchy wandering feet, and overly curious mind.

Fast forward to present day, Gabriel, and he decided to jetset it to Amory where he knew his younger half sister Tasia now resided – and was an outcast of the family, just like himself at this point. Which was a small reason the two may have been so close, but something about his younger sister always brought Gabriel back to reality. Allowing him to ground himself, and maybe that’s just what he needed after so long running from his demons. Gabriel, much to his dismay, figured it was time to face what he didn’t want to admit.
