He wasnât going to lie. This was his favorite place in the city. He could come by every day of the week and not eat the same meal twice. No matter what type of food he was craving there was a truck to sate him. His head turned hearing the man and he chuckled. âIâve been to all of them, many times. It really just depends on what you are craving, though if everything looks good i suggest being strategic about it and making a plan to hit others on a different day. Or grab a giant group of friends and taste test all of them. Iâve done bothâÂ
âUnfortunately all of my friends are either busy working this thing, or I have no idea where they are on this long trail of bar crawling,â Zahir laughed, looking over at him. âIf youâve been to all of them multiple times, then I assume I canât go wrong with any of these options. Now to narrow it down....â He hummed softly to himself. âUnless you wanted to go in with me and get a little bit of something from multiple places?â
A roll of her eyes was her only response to his question as she finished loading up the latest box to go out. Although he was right, she did need to eat and sheâd been working non-stop most of the day. âZ, are you asking me to be your sweetheart? I thought youâd never ask!â With a glance at the last few orders to be filled she decided it was the perfect time for a break, âHow could a girl resist?â
âThatâs exactly what Iâm saying,â Zahir laughed. âBesides, you look like you could use a break. Youâve been working hard, yâknow?â He offered out his arm to her in a gentlemanly fashion, waiting for her to take his arm before leading her towards an empty table. âSo, whatâll you be having? Since meals can be tailored and all, or is that more of a call-ahead thing?â
Location: Train station parking lot

The amount of food trucks scattered about the train station parking lot was not only surprising, but also intimidating. Zahir had taken a quick trip around the lot to see what there was to offer, but with the amount of choices and all of them smelling equally as delicious, making a decision seemed next to impossible. âHave you had any of these before?â Zahir asked the man beside him, letting out a small laugh. âI canât decide what I want to try and Iâm talking myself out of buying something from each one.â
âSo,â Zahir spoke as he leaned against the bar, sending a grin in Blakeâs direction, âwhatâs it gonna take to get you to take a break for half an hour and come eat with me? I know youâre busy, but you gotta eat sometime, right? We can take advantage of that deal youâve got going on, too.â
âYou know,â there was a wicked twist to his lips as Edgar considered the question, âI do have a rather annoying neighborâŠâ There was a slight pause as Edgar repositioned the items in his arms, jostling them slightly so that nothing spilled over. âAs tempting as the idea of it is, though, itâs for slightly less nefarious purposes. I have a pet at home whoâs due for a feeding.âÂ
âThat makes far more sense, though it wouldâve been a diabolical way to get back at that neighbor,â he replied with a laugh, though it faded as he noticed the way the other man was juggling items in his arms to keep them balanced. âNeed help with anything?â
âItâs good for relaxing.â Lexi whispered as the slowly got herself in the next position. Yoga was something that Lexi had really began to enjoy, and she figured that Zahir would probably benefit from it as well. âYouâre supposed to be quiet.â She reminded him, before flashing him a smirk. âAlso that is so not how you do a downward do-â Before she could finish her sentence a red headed woman in front of her with a particularly angry look glared at her - and Lexi flashed her an apologetic smile before letting out a small and hushed laugh.Â
âIs it if I have to strain to get my body into these positions?â he asked with a small snort of laughter, trying to mimic the instructor and get into a downward dog. His height was a primary factor in the difficulty he had of getting into a lot of the positions, but perhaps a small part of it was also his unwillingness to truly relax in a room full of people clearly more experienced than him. He flashed the woman his award-winning smile and offered an apology, but he couldnât help the strained laughter that fell from him once sheâd turned around. âThis is why this isnât for me. You know Iâm not good at being quiet.â
Mishka hummed in agreement. âHonestly me either. Itâs basically saying they donât like fun!â Maybe it was because sheâd grown up listening to it because of her parents, or maybe it was the fact that Jackson seemed to hold in just as high regard as she did, whatever the reason she was pretty sure that sheâd be stuck on the oldies forever. She snorted softly at his words, as subtle as they may have been she knew what he was really asking. âIâm Mishka.â She tilted her head to the side before smirking slightly, âIâll tell you what, if they donât strike your fancy and you desperately need to find me Iâm sure youâll have no problem.â Giving a small wave of her fingers she headed towards the cash register.Â
Zahir was surprised at the quick dismissal the woman gave him, used to women falling over themselves to see him again. Then again, every so often he would meet someone who had no idea who he was, and this could be one of those situations. Gathering the records sheâd picked for him, he followed towards the cash register to check out. âThatâs true,â he began, âit is a pretty small town, so Iâm sure weâll see each other around again at some point. Though, if youâd be up for it, Iâd love to hear more about your favorites. I think someoneâs favorite music says a lot about them.â
âI canât believe you convinced me to do yoga with you,â Zahir murmured to the short blonde beside him, trying his best not to interrupt the remainder of the people in the class or call more attention to himself than his 6âČ5âł frame already did. âIâm flexible enough, but this is, like... acrobatic levels.â
no compromise, we will see how far we go tonight. these are the new memories
Not me realizing I never did an intro for my boi Zahir........
name: Zahir Hassan
age: 31
location: Finchâs Lake
occupation: Retired NFL player
anyway meet Zahir!!
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, but moved to the states before he was even a year old.
They lived in Ohio in a town that was heavily into high school football culture and thatâs the sport he gravitated towards the most growing up, but he played other sports as well because he was just #activeaf.
He went to Clemson University in South Carolina on a football scholarship, but he dropped out in his junior year so he could take part in the NFL draft early, thereby forfeiting his eligibility to continue playing at the college level if he didnât make it (which is...... a v big risk but he was confident lmao)
He got in!!! And he was drafted by the New York Jets who at the time were a gr8 team. He lived in New York City while he played for them and was riding high on his newfound career, taking full advantage of the perks that came with it (money, fame, etc)
He played in the league for about ten years total and for multiple teams, but in his seventh year, he had an on-field accident that resulted in broken ribs, a broken leg, and a torn ACL. This effectively ruined his career, though he tried to play again following his recovery. He played for about two more years before he decided to retire early.
He decided to stay in the New York area and settled on Amory at the advice of some old friends, buying a house on Finchâs Lake. Heâs lived there for two years now.
Heâs still pretty active and enjoys working out outdoors as well as in gyms, and he hosts a public Super Bowl party every year for anyone who wants to join
So I need some friends for my mans!! Iâve already plotted with a few of you, but for those who havenât had the chance, Iâd love to have some of the following connections for him:
Fans - they donât have to have been fans of him necessarily, but maybe a fan of the teams he was playing on or just fans of football in general who know who he is
Old friends - these could be friends he made in his years in the NFL, or in high school or in his college years before he made it big. Maybe they lost contact after he got into the NFL and he became too ââââbigââââ for those friendships. Some potential angst here~
Current friends - anybody heâs met since moving to Amory! Heâs a pretty friendly guy so the options for how they couldâve met are wide open
Work out buddies - heâs still incredibly active and would love to have people to work out with! They could do things like hiking or swimming in the lake or just spot each other at the gym
Friends with benefits - Iâm always up for that for him since heâs definitely a flirt, but just know I donât like to write smut on the dash so itâd mostly be headcanons and such xoxo
Enemies - he doesnât necessarily need enemies, but heâs a bit on the cocky side so itâs entirely possible he couldâve gotten on someoneâs nerves at some point and they never made amends
Really Iâm open to anything!! Message me on Discord if youâre interested in anything specific~

It was time for Naginiâs feeding and, bad father that he was, Edgar had gotten completely caught up in the hustle and bustle of work and meetings that heâd simply forgotten to visit the pet store. It would have been an easy fix if Nagini were the type of ball python who ate frozen rats, but of course, nothing was ever simple. So, instead heâd had to make the trip into New York City in order to visit a small hole in the wall shop that heâd found a few years back when heâd first gotten the snake. Now, a few hours later, his hands were full with all the things heâd had to collect â dry cleaning, a few groceries, and the box carrying Naginiâs dinner among them. He set it on the ground, sure he was drawing eyes, as he fished in the pocket for his house keys, a small coughing laugh rolling out of him. âWhat? Youâve never seen a person carrying a live rat in a box before?âÂ
Having grown up in Ohio, there were some things that didnât strike Zahir as odd necessarily when he saw them about this small town. However, today was not one of those days. People watching had become more of a habit over the last two years -- retirement boredom would do that to you, heâd insist -- but it was very rare when one would see... whatever it was he was seeing in that moment. âYou know, I canât say I have,â he replied with a laugh. âDecided on a new pet or trying to create an infestation?â
âOh yeah? Iâm from Cairo, but itâs still nice to talk to someone who knows the area. I was born there and we lived there until I was 11 and then we moved to Atlanta, but I moved back when I was 18 for school and then I came back a little over a year ago when my father got sick, and moved to Amory about a month ago. Iâm still trying to get used to the place, but this wasnât exactly what I had in mind,â he said, gesturing to the general area where they were sitting on the floor.  âItâs nice to meet you, Zahir, itâs definitely nice get even a little taste of home in such a random place. Iâm still not sure if Iâm going to stick around long term, but I just wasnât ready to another international move so soon, you know?âÂ
âYeah, I could imagine that this isnât exactly how you want to get acquainted with the locals. Might get a few people making some strange assumptions about you,â Zahir replied with a laugh, shaking his head. Though the two of them were still neatly situated on the floor, he was starting to notice the stares from passing patrons now that theyâd been there for a few minutes. âNice to meet you, too. If you need help finding things or want a tour of the town at some point, just let me know. Itâs actually a nice place once you get used to the whole small town feel, especially if youâre used to bigger cities like Atlanta.â Pulling out his phone, he offered it to Tereik with it open on the new contact form. âDo you travel a lot?â
If anyone is to be found spontaneously breaking into song and dance, it is the Entertainer personality type. Entertainers get caught up in the excitement of the moment, and want everyone else to feel that way, too. No other personality type is as generous with their time and energy as Entertainers when it comes to encouraging others, and no other personality type does it with such irresistible style.
Entertainers love the spotlight, and all the worldâs a stage. Many famous people with the Entertainer personality type are indeed actors, but they love putting on a show for their friends too, chatting with a unique and earthy wit, soaking up attention and making every outing feel a bit like a party. Utterly social, Entertainers enjoy the simplest things, and thereâs no greater joy for them than just having fun with a good group of friends.
Itâs not just talk either â Entertainers have the strongest aesthetic sense of any personality type. From grooming and outfits to a well-appointed home, Entertainer personalities have an eye for fashion. Knowing whatâs attractive the moment they see it, Entertainers arenât afraid to change their surroundings to reflect their personal style. Entertainers are naturally curious, exploring new designs and styles with ease.
Though it may not always seem like it, Entertainers know that itâs not all about them â they are observant, and very sensitive to othersâ emotions. People with this personality type are often the first to help someone talk out a challenging problem, happily providing emotional support and practical advice. However, if the problem is about them, Entertainers are more likely to avoid a conflict altogether than to address it head-on. Entertainers usually love a little drama and passion, but not so much when they are the focus of the criticisms it can bring.
The biggest challenge Entertainers face is that they are often so focused on immediate pleasures that they neglect the duties and responsibilities that make those luxuries possible. Complex analysis, repetitive tasks, and matching statistics to real consequences are not easy activities for Entertainers. Theyâd rather rely on luck or opportunity, or simply ask for help from their extensive circle of friends. It is important for Entertainers to challenge themselves to keep track of long-term things like their retirement plans or sugar intake â there wonât always be someone else around who can help to keep an eye on these things.
Entertainers are welcome wherever thereâs a need for laughter, playfulness, and a volunteer to try something new and fun â and thereâs no greater joy for Entertainer personalities than to bring everyone else along for the ride. Entertainers can chat for hours, sometimes about anything but the topic they meant to talk about, and share their loved onesâ emotions through good times and bad. If they can just remember to keep their ducks in a row, theyâll always be ready to dive into all the new and exciting things the world has to offer, friends in tow.
Strengths: Bold, original, aesthetics and showmanship, practical, observant, excellent people skills
Weaknesses: Sensitive, conflict-averse, easily bored, poor long-term planners, unfocused
âI was definitely shocked the first time I got the bill for one, I think itâs pretty safe to say my parents were hiding how much it cost when I was growing up. It wasnât as bad in Egypt, but itâs pretty pricey here, itâs easier just to avoid it altogether, if possible.â Tereik smiled, glad someone who seemed to understand what he needed, even without him having to say it, had found him.  âDefinitely not, itâs been a regular occurrence since I was three, it hardly fazes me anymore, but itâs a little more complicated when it happens in public. Iâm alright there, the company for a little while is all I need. Itâll be pass soon and weâll be able to walk back home before longer.â He smiled and shifted his position into a slightly more comfortable one, âOh, Iâm Tereik, by the way, I donât think weâve met.âÂ
âI think most things with regard to the medical system here are more expensive than... basically anywhere else, it feels like. But thatâs capitalism for you.â He chuckled some. âBut hey, I lived in Egypt briefly when I was a kid. I was born there, actually -- Alexandria. What part were you in?â It was rare when he met someone else who lived there for any amount of time, but the excitement in that moment was evident in his eyes. It was also rare to find someone who didnât recognize him from his football days, so being able to introduce himself like a normal person was a breath of fresh air. Reaching a hand out to him, Zahir smiled. âIâm Zahir. We probably havenât. In the grand scheme of things, Iâm relatively new to town. Only been here for two years or so.â
Location: Winter Food Festival

One of the advantages of living in Amory was he got to spend time with some old friends heâd met while still active in the league. Blake had been playing in New York around the same time he had been, and the two of them had formed a close bond that had been one of the draws for him moving up that way to begin with. When sheâd mentioned going to the festival, Zahir agreed to meet her there so she could show him what her townâs tradition was all about. âThere are my favorite blondies,â he greeted with a grin as he made his way up to the woman, pulling her in for a hug before kneeling down to greet Sawyer. âIâm starving, so I hope theyâve got some good food out here to eat.â
Mishka smirked back at Zahir before her eyes soften as she looked down at the album in her hand. âI donât know if Iâd say eclectic. Itâs Nat King Cole, who doesnât love him?â She held out the album to him as she flipped through the ones heâd been looking at, âThe kind of mood Iâm in Iâm sure all my recommendations are going to be oldies music butâŠâ She pulled out a few different albums with a smile, âOne canât go wrong with the Rat Pack. I dare you to pick one of their albums and tell me there is a bad song on them.â She took her own back into her hands, âNow if thatâs too old we could go a few decades later and land amongst The Jackson Five, The Spinners, Redbone?â
âIâm sure there are probably some people out there,â Zahir laughed, âbut I wouldnât want to meet them.â He raised his brow as he took the album from her, holding it carefully as he watched her sort through the others. âWell, the phrase âoldie but a goodieâ exists for a reason, right?â He handed the record back to her and nodded, thinking over her suggestions. âIâll get a mix. If none of it tickles my fancy, though, Iâll have to find you and let you know somehow.â It was his subtle way of insisting on seeing her again, and though heâd only just met her, he wasnât going to miss his chance at flirting with the beautiful person beside him. âIâm Zahir.â

It was inevitable that sheâd find herself here. Every time she got home from an extended trip to wherever in the world, she found herself here. Fingers flipping through the albums looking for something that fit her current mood, or closing her eyes and letting fate decide which album to take home with her. Looking down she let out a soft smile as she pulled the album away from the others. Nat King Coleâs L-O-V-E album was staring back at her. Images of a white dress and a red tie passed through he made as she made her way to the counter, before she got there though a noise from one of the few people in the store caught her attention. She pulled to a stop, âDo you know what you are looking for?â
Zahir needed to update his music collection. Streaming music was easy enough, but sometimes he wanted to put his surround sound stereo system to good use and nothing compared to a classic vinyl record when it came to quality sound. Heâd only been in the record store once before and it was for a quick browse to see what kind of variety they had, so having a longer look this time around, he wasnât even sure where to start. His browsing was interrupted by a voice and he began speaking before he looked up. âUh, not really, Iâm just kind of...â His voice trailed once he saw her, his lips turning up somewhat into a soft smirk. âBrowsing. Wouldnât mind some recommendations, actually. You seem like youâve got an eclectic taste,â he finished, motioning to the record she was holding.
This was an all too familiar situation to Tereik, but when he lived in Cairo or Atlanta he had some anonymity, in Amory he was worried heâd just carved out a reputation as the guy who was about to get carried out of the grocery store on a stretcher. Thankfully, unless someone else called an ambulance, heâd likely be able to get out of here with some of his dignity in tact. He was still in kind of a fog, which wasnât uncommon in his present condition, but he knew it would pass, all he could do was try to pull himself together and stop just staring at the floor and not responding to man whoâd come by to help him.Â
âThanks. I get that it can be scary to see, but itâs expensive to pay the ambulance fees every time it happens, I donât blame people for doing it, but itâs easier for me if they donât.â He gave a half dazed smiled and accepted the tissues, âThank you. This wasnât too bad actually, the eye on the cart handle didnât feel great, but I should be alright in a little while, I think I just need to sit for a little while, at least until an employee comes and yells at me for blocking the shelves. Experience tells me Iâve got about 5 minutes before that happens.âÂ
âTrust me, I get it. I donât think people realize how much it costs just to get an ambulance,â Zahir replied with a soft chuckle, putting the open tissue box back into his things and sitting properly on the floor across from him. He wasnât sure if the other man would feel self-conscious about his predicament or not, so he figured the least he could do is make it so he wasnât alone. âDonât worry, if theyâre gonna yell, theyâll yell at us both.â He offered a smile. âIâm guessing this isnât the first time this has happened, then. You need anything else? I could probably run over to the frozen food section and grab something for you for your eye before someone else gets here.â
