@yourvirtualpetzpalz
cranberry sauce alley cat!!
a new orange shorthair hexed! hexed off my friend @yourvirtualpetzpalz's adorable faerie oshie base, with paintballz and minor modifications done by myself!
Repurposed my lion base into a tiger! I wasn't sure if the stripes would turn out, but I think they work well enough on a petzy tiger :) I might make em a little thinner if I were to try again (but I'm way too paintballed out right now to do that hahahah)
This is an older WIP of mine but I added a couple of spots to it today and idk, maybe it's done? I had a lot of fun making it at least (most important)
TRIGGER WARNING FOR PIXEL BLOOD (red circles) under the cut!
I might change the innermost ring color but I'm pretty happy with this alternative texture scheme. Maybe I'll post a dog hex next? What do you guys think?
Just a quick texture and addball ring project that's been on my mind lately. I'll probably make an alternately colored version of it with some more black and white and maybe wizard texture but I really wanted some warm oranges and tans in the first one. :)
I'm not 100% happy with him, but I've got to mull over what is missing, so for now, here's what I've got! He's supposed to be a Tibetan Sand Fox, though I'm not sure I got that across well. Hmm... maybe some more texture blending with paintballs....
Working on a lil guy! :) He's not finished yet, can you guess what I'm trying to make? The first pic is a little trick I always do when hexing something- you set the Little one lnz from (whatever)kit.lnz or (whatever)pup.lnz to just reference the adult lnz. That way they come out of the AC looking like adults so you don't have to age them up every time you're checking on a WIP! OBVS you change it back when you're done so they can grow ;-)
Would you guys be interested in progress posts where I show off various stages of a hex from WIP to finished? Or are you more interested in just seeing the final file?
Lion hexed by @yourvirtualpetzpalz !! she's a new petz blog who makes AMAZING creations, give her a follow!
LOVE this guy! His eyes and the subtle sparkly spotwork make him look magical! :)
My .pet from my new lion base! I gave him a Russian Blue personality, so he has such a soft meow. His name is Mod. and I'm so excited to show him off! :) His spots grow out and his mane grows in as he ages, but his sharp teeth and claws (as any cat owner knows) are with him for life!
What inspires you?
Is it weird to say that Petz inspires me? Like, in my other artistic pursuits sometimes I'm directly trying to create something "petzy" like a .pet. Even when I'm not, Petz has changed the way I think about making shapes. Working in Pet Workshop has rly helped me think in 3D which helps me when I work in polymer clay and wool felting. I've cross stitched little Petz icons before, too, which I think turned out super cute.
When it comes to hexing in Petz, really anything can be inspirational. A cool looking pattern on an animal, a theme (aesthetic, -core, whatever), a shape... Of course, some things translate into Petz better than others, (esp with the limited palette) but you get a feel for that as you go, and you learn how to work with the game's design. Many times I look at a chart of in-game textures, and pick some out that I want to use, and go from there.
I really enjoy Petz as a game and community because it's easy to get into and I can make things for other people and trade and share without worrying about things like space or having "too many" petz. And hexing, for me, is easier/quicker than my other creative hobbies so you can make something and get that good good hit of dopamine.
Why are you doing this
Because I have brainrot for the little circle animals ⚫⚪🟠
