agh i’ve been wanting to draw this scenario for a bit and I finally got around to doing it while trying out a new style but i’m so embarrassed to post it,,, also yes ik the vessel is 9, realistically he’d be in around 4th grade or enrolled in middle school with esther and ben, HOWEVER, due to his lack of human knowledge (and just not wanting to learn), he’d be leveled way before elementary school. lmao. and I though’t it’d be silly—let me have my fun :^) {uncolored and hcs under cut!}
{headcanons + explanations}
• like mentioned, he’s technically not intellectually ready to be enrolled in any actual grade level. this is because of him not knowing how to read, write, and doesn’t know what certain things are. and since these are due to him being a demon for thousands of years and not bothering to learn what’s on earth for the past 300 years he’s been here, he feels extremely ridiculed and mocked of his intelligence. he’s like too mature yet too immature for his age at the same time, kinda funny
• katherine only enrolled him in something to keep at least a little peace in the hotel during the day, and she’d hope without a demon child lurking everywhere she’d get more people to stay
• he was SO done after just this first day. he went in looking like that, then came out with a whole new outfit, messy hair, and somehow even worse eyebags than before. (the car ride home was the first time he’d ever involuntarily fallen asleep in years. he’s like fink in the “villains night in” episode of ok: ko :3)
• adding onto the last one, here’s what I think happened for him, a menace of a demon, to be THAT worn out: he got frustrated trying to learn simple things, got sent to time out multiple times for swearing, casting spells, and messing with the other kids, (spoiler alert, time out does not work on abaddon), tried to rule over the other kids at recess, ruined his clothes at lunch, and tried being nice to a kid ONCE only to lead him spitting up blood the moment he got off the school grounds. only good highlight of his day was that he got a gold star for being a (decent) line leader. yayy..?
• HATES wearing modern and/or clean clothes, but only made an exception for these because they resemble his original (and nathan’s 🤫🤫) outfit
• got questioned on why he was so barbaric, no one outside of the hotel actually knows he’s a demon so the teacher just thought he was traumatized (katherine left out so many parts of the story to make it seem like abaddon is how he is because of nathan’s death)
• also got questioned on his scar, when the teacher saw she tried to ask him but he kept quiet for much longer than usual (he can’t tell her the whole story 🤷)
• genuinely tried to escape through the vents at some point
