Whenever I want to smell the roses, I try to leave but the door closes, I know that even if I left to try, I promise I'd return by morning light, But I see your faces and your eyes, Staring at me asking why, So I'll sit and I'll stare, At the roses way out there, Through the windows all I see, Are the petals urging me, To stand up for what I need, To get right up and take the lead, We will go together all as one, Nobody left behind and nothing left undone, Rise up and be encouraged, Follow me if you have courage, I will lead you on to a better place, I will lead you on to become an ace, So for now head outside and smell the roses, Because for now the door no longer closes, No matter what the case, Someday we will take first place.
