ANYWAY im not gonna make this into a long discourse, this is just a pet peeve of mine as someone whos Also Autistic

even if you dont actually headcanon an autistic character as a child, its bad to jokingly refer to them as one; in some cases its even worse, since you know theyre not a child but because theyre autistic you need to refer to them as one. even autistic adults are consistently taught that we’re too immature to be taken seriously, too immature to be loved, too immature to do anything really, because society so c8ers to allistic mindsets. i know it sounds like innocent joking if you dont experience the ableism autistic ppl do, but please at least take a step back and think about why we’re hurt by it

Yo just out of question for calling Saw a baby, do you only mean now headcanoning her as a child or like, saying "she's baby!!!" the same way one might call a character they love "baby"

if ur calling her baby/babey in the pet name way its fine. however calling her baby in an infantilizing way (baby time, im baby call 911, baby girl baby, etc) is a no go for autistic characters

to clarify. allistic people are on very, very thin ice using Baby Terms anywhere near autistic characters and its best to avoid that altogether. i dont want to see Saw Is Just Baby, Saw Baby Time, all that. the same goes for other autistic characters like bracelety, 8-ball, cloudy, ice cube (with the exception of her Baby Mode), etc etc. if you’re using baby the same way you would use babe, go wild. any other way, please think about it before you say it and consider how often autistic ppl are infantilized, even if its just a joke. speaking as an autistic person, it hurts; we’re already made to feel that we’re too immature and young to be loved, among other things.

oh yeah no problem!! repeating things n difficulty with volume control are both tr8s of being autistic, plus she stuttered a lot in this episode which like, i also experience being autistic !! also sensory stuff like this might just be me projecting but i love good smells.. helps me ground myself especially if im overwhelmed (which she probably was what with the 8ball fumes, missing her handle, taco drama, all that)

im sure someone else can explain better than me but speaking as an autistic person i think shes like. Super autistic coded (a lot of characters in bfb are)
