as much as i love riverdale, i really hope that the writers take a different approach for season 3 so here’s what i’d like to see:

more space made for characters outside the core 4, lets even give them a + b storylines, take advantage of this fantastic cast of characters (and actors, they’re busting their asses doing promo and being on set all the time, and they deserve better)!

steadier pacing, when we found out s2 was going to be 22 eps i was excited because i thought it would let the show breath a little more, and allow for more character driven episodes, but that is not the case, the writers are burning through plot like their lives depend on it and it’s exhausting. not every episode has to be filled with a crazy moment every three seconds. i enjoy the frantic and pulpy plot, but work on finding a better balance kay.

stop throwing away plotlines, if you’re going to introduce a plotline lets see it resolve, lets see it’s consequences, otherwise don’t introduce it!

stay consistent to the characters core motivations and quit using them as plot devices, some of the characters on the show are not acting like themselves and their motivations are all over the place, cheryl, josie, and kevin especially are often just used as plot devices to add conflict to the core 4′s storylines even if it means making them go out of character. stop doing this and give them storylines that give them depth and growth – the characters deserve better, the viewers deserve better, and most of all the actors deserve better.

Give each of the Core Four an episode where they are exclusively the star or, don’t give anyone that, But making this the Betty Cooper show is alienating a lot of fans. 

Have more teenage moments this isn’t porn with a plot, though, sometimes it seems like it is. 

Go back to Film Noir none of us signed up to watch a crime drama. That came out of nowhere and just feels like really sloppy writing. 

Give Kevin a personality that has nothing to do with being gay, the GBF trope is old and tired. Casey is a decent actor, but you aren’t giving him shit to work with.

Make the other queer characters acknowledge they are queer with actions, not just words. Toni saying she’s bi is not representation, and neither is the implication that Chic has sex with guys. The entire show is about sex and relationships. Give the queer characters a chance to have the same experiences. You already destroyed Jughead being ace, which, didn’t have to happen. You better give us something we can relate and connect to, or we won’t keep watching.
