The print featured in this installation, purse and bear is Victor Ehikhamenor’s “Waiting for the Dreamer”, which is the first image.

The installation is called “Deconstructed Lantern”. Based on the process of assembling the pieces of a lantern sleeve.

The idea is to have a show for the installation. The bear and matching bag will serve as products go take away from the show.

“Torn between Religion”

Depicts Moses splitting the Red Sea to allow the Hebrews to pass to the other side. There’s a Hindu god that sits before them, which is a sign of peace on the other side of the Red Sea.

I was raised Christian, with that being said I was told God is a jealous God. You cannot worship nothing outside of him or use practices from other religions. I started meditating in high school and found that it’s peaceful for me after a prayer. I believe along with prayer, you have to commit to some physical action that can help calm the noise that surrounds you day to day. What I was told as a kid and what I feel now has prompted me to identify as a spiritualist over claiming allegiance to any religion.

Pattern- a repetitive design

Actual Tactile Texture- physical rendering or the real surface qualities we can notice by touching an object

Value Emphasis- development of a focal point

Implied Texture-surface quality of an object, whether the texture is implied or actual. Implied, or visual, texture may be simulated

Difference between texture and pattern? Texture and pattern characterizes the design implied. The difference is that the texture refers the feel of the design and pattern refers to the construction of the design.

Trompe L’oeil- from French to English it translates to deceive the eye: basically, an illusion created by realistic art

Isometric Projection- a method for visually representing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions in technical and engineering drawings

Equivocal space- a condition in which the viewer may at different times see more than one set of relationships between art elements or depicted objects.

Value- lightness or darkness of tones or colors used to create depth in the art

Value to suggest space- shaded and light areas that objectifies items and their positions in space
