'Inside' - Bo Burnham

'Inside' is Bo Burnham's newest comedy special. I had heard a lot about it on TikTok and I was excited to watch it because I had really enjoyed his previous specials like 'what.' and 'make happy.'

I procrastinated watching it because it was inevitable that it would bring up some existential topics that would more than likely make me anxious. But, one day I got one of the songs from the show recommended to me on YouTube, 'Welcome to the Internet' and I really enjoyed it. A part of me wishes I had just watched the full show before seeing it but c'est la vie.

So while my family was out I watched it and it was so good. I don't want to overhype it too much and leave people disappointed after they watch it. But it combines beautiful and creatively done visuals with clever songs and references. I highly, highly recommend it. The fact that Bo did it all on his own is amazing and shows how talented he is.

I was right about the mentions of existential topics and I did cry while watch it but I think that says more about me than the special.

It's not too much of a hilarious comedy, I wasn't pissing myself laughing but it is funny. It is very real as well. There is discussions of suicide in the show too so please keep that in mind while watching.

Personally, my favourite songs are 'Problematic', 'Unpaid Intern', and 'Welcome to the Internet.' But I expect that upon further viewings of it other songs will move up on the list.

Last Day of Fifth Year

Dude, whoa. Today is the last day of fifth year, which for my non-Irish peeps is the second last year of second-level education in school here.

Next year I will be in the last year of school and then (hopefully) I'll be going to college. Damn, it feels like just yesterday I was getting my first year picture taken and now here I am.

I dunno, I'm kinda excited.
