You were sprawled across Louis’s bed, half-buried in his hoodie, watching him from the corner of your eye.“Hiiiiiunter, you’re so handsome, aren’t you?” Louis cooed, scratching behind the fluffy gray cat’s ears. Hunter purred loudly, stretching like he owned the entire room which, honestly, he kind of did.You frowned.“Wow,” you muttered under your breath.
Louis didn’t hear you. Of course he didn’t. He was too busy lifting Hunter up and pressing a kiss to his little head. “My sweet boy.”That did it.You sat up, arms crossing. “Unbelievable.”Louis blinked, finally looking over. “Hm?”“You’ve said *zero* nice things to me since I got here,” you said dramatically, sliding off the bed and walking toward him. “But him? Oh, he’s ‘handsome’ and ‘sweet’ and gets kisses?”Hunter flicked his tail smugly.
Louis raised an eyebrow, trying not to smile. “Are you… jealous of my cat?”“I am *not* jealous,” you insisted, already closing the distance. “I just think it’s interesting. Very interesting. The favoritism happening right in front of me.”“Mhm.” Louis glanced down at Hunter. “What do you think, buddy? Are they jealous?”Hunter purred louder.“Oh my god,” you groaned, stepping even closer until you were practically pressed against Louis. “Stop asking him! I’m right here!”Louis finally laughed, the sound warm and soft. “Okay, okay.” He shifted Hunter to one arm and reached out with the other, tugging you closer by your waist. “What do you want, then?”You immediately melted a little—but you held your ground. “Attention,” you said, quieter now. “From my boyfriend. Not from… him.” You shot Hunter a look.
Louis hummed like he was thinking, eyes teasing. “I don’t know. Hunter’s been very affectionate today ”“Louis,” you whined, dragging out his name as you buried your face into his chest. “Stooop. That’s so mean.”He chuckled, setting Hunter down gently on the floor. The cat landed gracefully, clearly unbothered, and padded off like he hadn’t just caused emotional chaos.“There,” Louis said, wrapping both arms around you properly now. “All yours.”You peeked up at him, still pouting slightly. “Finally.”“Clingy,” he murmured, but there was nothing but fondness in his voice.“Only because you were ignoring me,” you mumbled, tightening your arms around him.
“I had to compete with a cat.”“A very cute cat,” he added.You pulled back just enough to glare at him. “Do you want me to start competing again?”He laughed again, softer this time, and leaned down to press a kiss to your forehead. “No, I think I’ve learned my lesson.”“Good.”Another kissthis time to your cheek.“Because,” he added, voice low and warm, “you’re definitely my favorite.”You huffed, but you couldn’t stop the smile tugging at your lips as you tucked yourself closer into him.“…You better mean that.”From across the room, Hunter let out a tiny, unimpressed meow.You narrowed your eyes. “He’s still judging me.”Louis grinned. “He always is.”
