[familiar faces] chaerin&minsu

“Yuniran?” she said, loud enough for the person to hear. “Yuniran, is that you?” she said, taking a step forward, her hand reaching out to grab his wrist, as though she needed to do this to make sure he didn’t disappear and prove her mind was playing tricks on her. “I can’t believe that it’s you…it’s been so long…are you really here? I’m not going crazy, am I?”
The daylight felt heavier than usual, the rays of sunlight giving his entire body an artificial heat as it touched his skin. He had had a well paying client the night before who had demanded a great deal of his time, and although the money had been good, he hadn't had time after to feed himself and now Minsu could feel the familiar pangs of hunger as he stumbled out of the client's apartment.
He had every intention of rushing home to have a bag or two before retiring for the day, but he was stopped dead in his tracks by a word he had not heard in years. His own name. His real name, the one he had tried so hard to forget, the three syllables making fear rise in his throat. Panic coursed through him, hot and sharp as he tried to think of a hundred and one ways to run from this.
Any chance he could have had to escape, however, was cut short by a small hand clamping around his wrist. He could break free if he wanted, he knew that, but not here, not with the throngs of humans surrounding him, not with this ghost of former life clinging to him like a lifeline.
He turned, slowly, and he was too late to stop the stricken expression that overtook his features as he came face to face with someone who he never thought he would have to see again. His lip quivered slightly before he forced a tight smile on to his lips. "Chaerin...it's been a while."
