When someone you love offers a bid for connection, you say yes every time. When someone sends you an article, a video, a funny post, it’s a bid for connection. They are trying to connect with you. When someone shares details about their day, their life, their thoughts, or their feelings with you, that is a bid for connection. They want to connect with you on a deeper level. They are trying to pull you into their world. If you love them, you say yes every time. Yes, even if the article they send is not particularly interesting to you. Yes, even if it means listening to them ramble about a game you don’t care about and think is stupid. Yes yes yes. And let’s hope they always say yes to your bids, too.

The great big nowhere
I need to go.
If I stay, I’m afraid I’ll never leave.
I can’t live just to die here.
I don’t want to lose you, but I can’t lose myself.
However alone I may be wherever that be, I’ll know that I know something more.
I should receive some sort of reward for not killing myself on sundays
"Sometimes I'm scared to look away."
Sometimes I’m scared to look away.
The image I want to keep might crumble and die, ashes of what was once alive.
Sometimes I’m scared to look away.
I know you’ll start walking and I’ll forget your name the second I turn my head.
Sometimes I’m scared to look away.
Holding on to you with resentment burning in my chest feels better than feeling nothing at all.
I’ll stare at your shadow until the sun falls. Leave and don’t make a sound. I’ll search for you in the darkness, hoping to see your shape.
The moon will fade, and as gold illuminates everything I see, so will my memory of you.
Eventually, I’ll see you in someone else.
The way their eyes capture light and the hot touch of their skin.
The way they say my name with such warmth and kiss me softly like sunlight.
Love enraptures me, swallows me whole with its flames. It consumes me.
Something familiar burning bright in my chest.
I know how this will end. I know that this will have to end.
But still.
Sometimes I’m scared to look away.
The combination of 'unnervingly flawless self-control' with 'occasional tendency to engage in reckless, dangerous, and borderline self-destructive or death-seeking behaviour' in a character is SUCH catnip to me
Thirst.
You linger on my lips
Like a raindrop's kiss
I thirst for more
Aware this feeling is all I will ever get to be satisfied with
A memory of the cold
You've shown me rivers, never ending in sight, rapidly flowing
I am now left begging, pleading, wanting for more
On my toes, looking up at the trees
Waiting for another raindrop to fall from those darling leaves
Medusa and the blind woman in love

a good sailor will always return to the sea
One day I will know freedom and I will know the sky.
My body contorts, thrashes and breaks.
To hold and caress, tells you the place my body takes.
Bones, organs and blood might get to leave.
But my soul will feel, my soul will stay, my soul will never get to be freed.
I will build it back together, trapping myself within walls of skin.
To touch and feel, you believe this to truthfully indicate my presence.
Chained to my flesh, constrained by a cycle of convalescence.
Who you feel now is different from who I’ve once been.
My pores open like a flower, swallowing the light.
I break free, flying, soaring through the night.
One day I will know weight and as well as the ground.
But for now, the flapping of my wings makes such a beautiful sound.
Hold on to me long and tight for I will never return, no matter how loud the cry.
One day I will know freedom and I will know the sky.
Theres a loneliness that belongs to you since you were born
Theres a loneliness that belongs to you since you were born
Like your arms and legs, lungs and heart
Some will wallow in it, treating it as their mother’s fluid
Others will frantically, violently wave their limbs, threatened by drowning
It’s a matter of taste; most prefer the dirt from our scorned earth
Personally, my fingers get wrinkly by the time I realize I’ve long since turned blue
Still and alone in a growing crowd
Unintelligible chatter becomes stagnant silence
Laughter and smiles you can’t understand
Water, colder than touch
Frowns and headshakes all too familiar
Water, warmer than flesh
A room filled to the brim with life, I implode
Fernando Pessoa, from The Book of Disquiet
Text ID: By thinking so much, I became echo and abyss. By delving within, I made myself into many.
"On earth as it is in heaven"
Fear grows and multiplies like a sickness, rotting our flesh, weakening our bones and acidifying our spit.
A society we built a top millions of deaths, thousands of laws and crimes still isn’t strong enough to withstand the wrath of time. Everything crumbles down like the walls of Rome. Hidden beneath our luxuries and wants, the barbarism we swore was far beneath us, climbs out, having only been two feet below us, never properly buried but silently growing roots deep in the soil.
Setting the world ablaze, death rampant like a pest, suffering is as easy as breathing, love as rare. A cycle of violence and apathy unstoppable in the face of our sinful ways. Punishment and penance are all we know and all we will ever want to know. Everything falls and falls, just like light had after deceiving many angels and even now as the sun simply radiates.
We sin as much as we breathe, we hurt as much as we touch. We burn as much as we cry.
Pray to your hearts content, laugh in the faces of those who hadn’t heed your warnings, savor the fear of non-believers. Cultivate your pride. Eat and eat and eat.
Your fear will kill you, annihilate you either way. The light of God won’t stop the epinephrine shooting through your veins. Worshiping his son won’t stop the tears leaking down your face.
Your lack of faith is innate, bred into you. Denying how natural it is to you is defying God’s way of creating.
“On earth as it is in heaven” we will chant, knowing God doesn’t wish us with him.
“On earth as it is in heaven” we will chant, knowing of the guilt thick in our blood of what we’ve done, what we’ve failed to do.
“On earth as it is in heaven” we will chant, knowing something is growing, pushing and ripping though our skin, something resembling horns rather than wings.
Let my love consume you.
Satiate this appetite I have for you.
Feed my need to touch your skin and share it, to listen to your breathing and want it coming from my lungs, to hear your heartbeat and wish I was feeling my pulse.
Living alongside you isn’t enough, I don’t believe my greedy and possessive, animalistic, tendencies will ever believe it to be.
