Hello hello, everyone!

It’s been a while, huh? First off, just wanted to say that I hope everyone out there in the fandom, whether you’re active or not, is doing well!

Second - and more importantly - I wanted to toss an idea out there. Not too long ago, in a different online fandom, a few folks put a really nifty game together. (Apologies if this is old news, and everyone on this thing has heard of this before - I, much like my muse, am definitely an actual old man.) They used a website called Pretend You’re Xyzzy, which is a platform for playing a custom, online version of Cards Against Humanity - and Cards Against Humanity actually endorses the platform, which is pretty darned cool.

I thought building a deck for the Bleach fandom and playing with it a few times throughout the holiday season might be a nice way for us to come back together as a community - or, at the very least, to have a little Bleach-themed fun. I keep in contact with quite a few members of this fandom, and to a person, everyone has said at some point that they miss what this fandom used to be. I know we can never go back to the pre-686 days (*cough*orthepre-685days*cough*), but personally, I just can’t find it within myself to let the problematic ending override my love for the rest of the series. I love Bleach, and I miss my Bleach friends, and I kinda figured a few of you out there might feel the same way.

So, uh. There’s that.

Anyway! Because we’ll be playing with a custom deck, I thought it would be nice to accept submissions for cards! There’s a guideline here about how best to phrase your submissions. (That said, if grammar and phrasing isn’t your forte, don’t worry about it. If your submission says “Would you please include a card about how inefficient Soi Fon’s shikai is?” or “I just really want there to be a card about Ganju”, that’s just fine. I’ll rework/rephrase until the formatting makes sense.) Please bear in mind that we’ll need more response cards than call cards, but that we’ll need a healthy mix of both for the game to work.

Finally, I just want to make it clear that this event is open to the entire Bleach community. That includes Suggestions folks, non-Suggestions folks, fanfic writers, fanfic readers, fan artists, folks who track tags and reblog the heck out of Bleach-posts - anyone at all who loves Bleach, no matter how active or inactive you are. The more inclusive this is, the more fun it’ll be, I think :)

…okay! I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything! My inbox is open for submissions now, so pop on over and send me your ideas! And if anyone out there is interested in helping put this together, just shoot me a PM and let me know!

At least that explains why I was dreaming of a cake full of birds last night – I mean, other than all the party talk, of course, but I generally do prefer my cakes not to burst out into a whole flock of cheeping havoc the second you cut into them. I have two points of commentary.

First and foremost, I would be most surprised if @shunsuisuggestions (or, perhaps, more accurately @nanaosuggestions) allowed four members of my former army to attend a Captain’s Meeting inside the Seireitei, which is literally surrounded by a barrier to KEEP OUT Hollows (among other less desirable elements.)

But, perhaps they will allow it. The Gotei 13 has been known to do far stupider things.

Second point: If you’re having a party for the month of August, you would do well to remember these other comrades’ birthdays:

August 1: @hiyorisuggestions and, thusly, also Kubikiri Orochi.

August 2: @isanesuggestions and Itegumo.

August 14: @shuuheisuggestions and Kazeshini.

August 31 @renjisuggestions and Zabimaru.

Not, that I have all of the birthdays and zanpakuto of every member of the Gotei memorized, but I have all the birthdays and zanpakuto of every member of the Gotei memorized.

@harribel-suggestions – well, I won’t deny that @aizensamasuggestions is at least partially correct, in that Seireitei is pretty heavily warded, and the barriers aren’t something that I can drop (or authorise to drop, rather, it’s more a job for the Kido Corps than me) that easily outside of emergency situations.

And frankly, stupid or not (though I am a foolish old man, thanks for noting that, Sousuke-kun), captain meetings are… really boring. I wouldn’t subject anyone else to that unless necessary.

On the other hand, though, I don’t see why anyone should be excluded from a good party, if it’s just a matter of venue! Although this is the point where I turn things over to @nanaosuggestions, since Nanao-chan has repeatedly banned me from even thinking about planning anything without her around – I’m not entirely sure why, but I think “excessive budget skew towards sake” featured somewhere in her lectures?

Also – not saying that’s creepy of you, Sousuke-kun, but it’s creepy of you. But I’ll be certain to increase the amount of cake accordingly, fear not!
