or, 5k words pieced together from the bleach fic i started writing in 2016 and never quite finished for… a whole host of reasons. still, i like the parts i did end up writing enough to dust them off enough to post, even if it’s not quite like what i originally pictured it to be.

(this fic also owes its entire existence to my amazing co-conspirators in the bleach suggestions community, especially @nanaosuggestions and @jushirosuggestions –  we might be scattered on the four winds of fandom now, but i can’t overstate how much i enjoyed our time together, and i dearly hope you’re all keeping well in these times!! with love from your occasional captain-commander ♡)

Anonymous, let me explain something to you in the simplest possible terms: I believe that my actions have all been for the good of the Soul Society. 

Have you seen the Soul King? Do you really, truly believe that ANY society that has an execution grounds at it’s core, at it’s very center, is a good place? Have you never wondered why the ground in front of the Sokyoku is barren? Could it be that so many have been executed by the state that no grass can grow there? And what could cause a society to need to execute that many people?

Do I wake up in the morning and say to myself, “Wow, Sousuke, that as terrible thing you did. You are a terrible person, You should be ashamed of yourself!” 

NO.

If I say anything to myself in the morning with regret, it is this: “WHY did you not let @tousensuggestions kill that miserable shopkeeper when you had the chance?” 

I have never once regretted being “mean.”

And, yes, that includes the moment I stabbed @hinamorisuggestions through the heart.

Cute, definitely. Apparently, once attempted to pass herself off as a 12th Division soldier, which is pretty ballsy.  Has fairies, which I have to approve of for… reasons.  Definitely above average, maybe a 7.6? Never sure about ladies.

A former member of the 11th, tattooed!  Very manly!  mmmm, but there’s that TINY issue of that…. zanpakutō. Let’s just say I like mine a little bigger!  4

What did you get for Valentine's day?

As you know, @nanaosuggestions no longer allows me my fan mail. 

However, I suspect there are a large number of the usual–flowers, chocolates, notes describing incredibly explicit adventures.

My “betrayal” or imprisonment doesn’t seem to have affected the sheer volume of Valentine’s that I receive. I’m not quite sure what that means about the average shinigami woman. 

Perhaps they see me as a ‘bad boy.’

Someone that only their love can transform.

I do wish that @shunsuisuggestions would allow the occasional care package through, however. I can’t remember the last time I tasted tea.

You suspect correctly. To be quite frank it is quite the thorn in my side. Judging from popular literature, you are also correct about the “bad boy” thing as well. Most unfortunate.

Project supervisor ‘Boss’ Shuraku and the secretive Kousuke each contrive to keep a keen eye on the other, but who is deceiving whom as to his true motives…?

And I’m sure he certainly doesn’t wake up the next day and declare that the “magic paperwork fairy has blessed  him once again.”

Nobody cares about calligraphy! Aizen is a potential cash cow, why would you waste his talent away? With a cooking channel, he’ll attract millions of people and since he’s in prison, you’ll get all the ad revenue!

The increased ad revenue would not be greater than the cost to try and contain the chaos from letting Aizen out into the world more than necessary. He thrives in chaos and destruction. That’s a headache I don’t need. I’ve got plenty as it is.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how out of hand do you think the Aizen fan club getting? First it was just tea shipments...

11? I am not suprised though. Aizen has always attracted attention from a large number of people. When he was trying to keep the ruse of being a respectable member of society, it wasn’t so bad, but there were some people who’s devotion bordered on fanaticism. It appears that even being outed as a truly horrible person hasn’t changed this. It makes no sense, but there it is.

The thrill of paperwork aside, I have dealt with enough homocidal megalomaniacs to last a lifetime. And my lifetime is very long.  @aizensamasuggestions will stay in the Muken where he belongs. Perhaps he could start a newsletter instead?

We want Aizen to have this own cooking channel on YouTube, where he cooks stuff with the power of his mind.

I’m sorry, but that is impossible. We seem to be forgetting that Aizen is A PRISONER. While he is allowed certain things so as to be humane, certainly a cooking show and Youtube channel would be liberties that @aizensamasuggestions should not be allowed. 

I’m sure @shunsuisuggestions will second this.

Nanao, what makes you happiest? Does it involve stationery?

A number of things make me happy. New books. The smell of a fresh autumn day. Rules. Keeping order in the Seireitei. And yes, sometimes beautiful letterhead on my paper work. 

But you know what makes me most happy?

When I come into the office to find that @shunsuisuggestions has voluntarily done all of his assigned tasks and paperwork. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does? Bliss.
