So uhm... Here's a ConquerorTale Gaster (Caesar) fun fact! Before he became the dictator of Rome and the civil wars, he got kidnapped by pirates for ransom. During his hostage situation, he didn't act like a hostage. Gaster bosses his abductors around, demanded quietness during his sleep, and even participated in games with them. Gaster was also insulted that the pirates only asked got 20 talents of silver for released and forced the pirates to make it 50. He would even go as far as make jokes and say that upon his release, he would have them all crucified. And Gaster got away with acting like this because he was both charming and amusing to the pirates.

Unfortunately for the pirates, he wasn't joking. Upon his release, Gaster immediately raised a naval force and swiftly captured the pirates. At first he had sent his kidnappers to the governor but seeing that they were being indecisive, he had them crucified himself.

This is not as polished as the Sans and Chara one. I can't even be bothered to pull up a source. My source is trust me bro. It's 3:30 am. I'll probably redo this in the future.

So . . . I found an old passage I wrote years ago.

The old thing I saw was for a different AU that I've abandoned. I got bored and decided to adapt it to LostTale, the AU where I showed the timeline of. I wanted to do ConqeurorTale but it just didn't fit. LostTale made more sense. So... without further ado. Here it is.

Flowey rummaged through Sans's drawer which was filled with scientific papers. Nothing interesting, Flowey thought. As he rummaged something caught his eye. An envelope. Odd, who would Sans be writing letters to? "Hey, Trashbag, what's this?" Flowey asked. Sans was laying down on his bed not paying attention to Flowey. "no clue. read it if you want." Flowey hissed. Seeing that he's not gonna get answers from Sans, he opens the envelope. Inside was a letter addressed to him, odd. The letter read, " Dear Asriel, I’m sorry those are your parents, let me be honest. It takes a lot to make me hate, but your parents made me acknowledge. That seeing them made me wish they died in that war we fought in. I'm sorry that you gotta grow up where you're forced to stand behind them. Life is hard, I know, big mistakes are nothing new to your folks. And those mistakes go down to you that’ll stick to you as you grow. You were a good kid that needed good leadership. If I was your mentor, you wouldn’t have died on those surface plains. Never pretend to be something you’re not, bud. Either you stand right back or fight with your whole chest, bud. Never fall and lose authenticity, that's bad religion. Please remember, you could be a bitch even if you got riches. Never fence sit, if you believe it’s wrong, know to push back. Even with all of them pressuring, don’t back down, get some integrity. Don't cut the crown like mommy did, fuck what the queen did. Mommy fled away to disengage, don’t copy cowardship.  Understand, no waging war with shaky hearts, that's law. Feed to rage and you’ll lose it all, that's how we’ll end as dust. Your daddy traded integrity. That’ll doom us all. Few of us survived that war, we don’t want one more. Be proud of who you are, your strength comes from within. Many monsters to admire, but your parents aren’t one of them. Don’t let emotions rule like them, you'll carry yourself a true king. I know this letter is late. Know your death is caused by them. Sincerely, Sans " Flowey winced at what he read but at the same time he couldn't help but find it amusing. "Gotta hand it to you, Trashbag. You weren't kidding when you said you hated my parents." "What?" Sans eyes went dark. "Gimme that." Sans snatched the letter from Flowey's vines. His perplexed expression turning into one of shame upon seeing the first line. "...I thought I burned this." "Why? Couldn't handle the shame?" Flowey smirked. Sans looked to the side. "It was so uh... you can see it in the afterlife." Silence falls between the two. "You really are something, aren'tcha, Sans?" Flowey said. "Let's show it to that turtle." "Don't"

Some context on why Sans vehemently hated Asgore and Toriel here. In the timeline I showed, Sans grew up in war and was a conscript of war. He saw the Monster Kingdom at its peak in the surface and subsequent fall nearing extinction. The Sans in this AU would be absolutely against Asgore waging war against humans. Especially since when Chara fell, it was only decades after they lost. They were nowhere near close to their peak and was in the early stage of rebuilding their lost glory.

Also Asgore wasn't the one who initiated the war against humans when they are at the surface, it was his father. He was still a prince at the time.

One final thing, if the letter sounded familiar that's because it is heavily inspired by the first verse of Meet the Grahams by Kendrick Lamar. That's the time I learned that I wasn't hating to my full potential.

So ConquerorTale as said before is very untraditional for an AU. No code, No game elements, no player, no nothing. The monsters weren't sealed in the underground. If anything they thrived because the land their irl counterparts ruled would be theirs. Again, just a big excuse to read a lot of history books and make it feel productive. Heavy emphasis on the feel part because it isn't at all, lol. It's a hobby regardless of the creation of this AU or not.

But that did get me thinking... What would a ConquerorTale game would look like? In a ideal, perfect world, it'd be like a Civ game or something similar. But that's just not feasible unfortunately. It can't be the usual undertale game because it feels silly to reduce let's say, Napoleon's (Sans) grande armée or Genghis' (Asgore) Mongol horde into a heart in a box dodging bullets or arrows.

The best bet would actually be a Visual Novel. You'd probably play as Cleopatra (Frisk) during let's say... A time of crisis in Eurasia. Cleopatra (Frisk) is the best choice because military wise, hers would be the weakest out of everyone. That is because Egypt during Cleopatra's time was reliant on stronger powers aka Rome. This gives her the biggest incentive to find allies and even betray allies when seen necessary. Your choices and diplomacy would matter heavily if Egypt will fall or survive.

Now will I actually make it? Who knows. Hell, screw the visual novel, will I actually finish this AU? Hard to say. This entire AU is hanging on a thread. Truth be told I haven't been drawing much ever since I uploaded that first video because I've been busy.

But time is clearing up these upcoming months. If I can follow through with weekly or even bi weekly art progress updates... Then perhaps theres an actual chance with this AU.

Change in fashion: Pisces

I learned something interesting. Āglǣca was the old word for monster but it was typically used as a way to describe someone formidable. Now since I'm me, I immediately connected that knowledge to my AU. Not conquetorTale though, that thing is fucked when it comes to time period.

This AU is actually somewhat aligned with the base UT story. The concept is a continuation of the neutral leaderless ending but with history sprinkled because well... I like history.

It's gonna follow Sans observing the apocalyptic state of the underground. And his unlikely friend in this will be Flowey.

Now the history inspired part is gonna be the past of this world which is the war between monsters and humans. In their world, it'll be officially known as The Āglǣcaic Wars which is based on the Punic wars.

Am I ever gonna make this AU? Maybe. If I do it'll be after conquerorTale because thats my main focus.

ConquerorTale Tidbits

Small factoids: Sans is 12 feet tall. Why? Making Napoleon or Sans in this case comically tall is funny to me. It'll also piss Sans off more when he learns about the British propaganda that he's short and and fuel that French-British rivalry even more. Also it's not a monsters are ridiculously tall thing, Sans is the tallest person in this AU.

I might change the height for others. They're more placeholder heights. Sans height is staying though, I might even make him a few inches taller.

Also the reason why the British propaganda worked in this AU is because Sans can change his height and he usually makes himself the average height of the time for convenience. And he's gonna have artillery based magic, you know, because he's Napoleon.

Speaking of powers, Chara is gonna have a string magic as a homage to Wu Zetian's puppeteering Chinese rule before officially becoming the emperor. Frisk is gonna have vocal mind control or hypnotic voice. Basically something that allows her to control a person when she speaks as a homage to Cleopatra's diplomacy.

For the others I'm still trying to think of something that's unique to them. A lot of them have overlap with one another when it comes to what makes them remarkable. All of the military genius here had the full loyalty of their men, were aggressive and fast, etc. The political geniuses, they're all clever, good at reading complex political affairs, good at manipulation, etc. So for now when it comes to special magic it's just the throuple that formed for political reasons

ConquerorTale Chronicles

Even when Chara was just a toddler there were prophecies predicting that she'd one day become the emperor of China. But living in a era with a deeply patriarchal society, was that really possible? It was a prophecy that's difficult to believe in.

Chara was first a concubine to emperor Taizong at the age of 13. But she was unable to do anything with her surplus amount of ambition in her time as a concubine to emperor Taizong. But her time with Taizong was not for naught. It helped her understand the inner workings of the palace and most importantly build a crucial relationship with Gaozong, the heir to the throne.

It was through the now emperor Gaozong that Chara was able to get out of the nunnery she was placed in after emperor Taizong died. It was through emperor Gaozong that she was able to step foot into the palace once more. It was through Gaozong that she got a second chance in pursuing her ambition.

Chara early on realized that she had two rivals, empress Wang, and consort Xiao. Fortunately for her, her experience as a concubine to emperor Taizong made her a veteran in imperial palace politics. Her rivals on the other hand were novices. Chara used this advantage in full effect.

Empress Wang and consort Xiao lost and was imprisoned in a compound. They were stripped of all expensive accoutrements of vanity. Women that were revered for their beauty was left to rot in a compound with each other as their company. But these women held out hope. And hope did arrive. Emperor Gaozong visited the two and was shocked. The two women pleaded to Gaozong.

Their reunion was short but it instilled hope for the two women that they'll be freed from this prison. Days move by slowly, hope remained intact. Then finally men arrived pulling away the bricks that barricaded them in. For a moment the ladies had assumed that emperor Gaozong had a change of heart. Their hope in escaping wasn't in vain. But then it was revealed that the servants was not of Gaozong, but of Chara.

One hundred lashes.

Empress Wang accepted her fate in grace. Wishing fortune for her husband and Chara. Consort Xiao was far more opposed to her fate. She cursed Chara with all her heart. Then the punishment enacted. Their bodies maimed, smashed, and broken, and their bleeding bodies was dumped in vats of wine, where they drowned.

Chara visited the vats of wine that the two was put in. She had came right on time to see the bubbles pop at the surface of the wine. Chara grins. She takes a sip of wine from her golden stem cup she brought.

"Now those witches can get drunk to their bones."

Chara poured the rest of her wine down in the vat of wine as she said those words.

Actual Wu Zetian didn't visit the vats of wine that empress Wang and consort Xiao was drowning in and the story about her punishing her rivals by chopping off their limbs and drowning them in wine is potentially fabricated. However, I like it, so I'm gonna keep it.

Also the prophecy thing with Wu Zetian when she was a toddler is most likely made up to justify her rule and to show that she had the mandate of heaven (There's another story like that relating to Buddhism). Mandate of heaven is essentially a justification for someone to have absolute power over a country. It's very similar to the European idea of divine right of kings or divine right for short but there are differences.

ConqeurorTale Chronicles

The destruction of Sans's grande armée in Russia, the peninsular war against Spain, the loss of cavalry, and finally, the lost at the battle of Leipzig. All of which cemented the downfall of Sans's empire. Before Sans could celebrate a decade of being an emperor, he was forced to abdicate after his defeat in the sixth coalition.

In accordance to the Treaty of Fontainebleau, Sans was exiled to a small island in the Mediterranean known as Elba. At first Sans resigned to his punishment and worked on modernizing Elba. But as the as the days pass by, as reports of the dislike of the current French monarch, and as Sans's fear that he'll be transported to an even more remote island grew. Sans broke the treaty and returned to France.

The people of France celebrated the empereur's return. Because despite the ongoing wars they had endure during Sans's rule, Sans had also brought national pride, order, and efficiency during his rule. But news of Sans's return travelled to the ruler of France quickly. An army was sent to stop Sans.

March 7, near Lake Laffrey, before Sans could reach Grenoble.

He encounters French troops sent to stop him. Their rifles ready to shoot. He stands before them. “Soldiers of the fifth, Here I am,” Sans says, “Do you recognize me?" He paused. "If there is a soldier who wishes to kill his Emperor, shoot. This is the moment.”

Silence falls. Sans stands still, looking onward to his old army. "Fire!" A captain ordered. Sans flinched. But the rifles remained silent. No one had followed the order. And shortly after the soldiers of the fifth started chanting in unison

"Vive l’Empereur!"

We don't know the exact words of what Napoleon said. Different testimonies and memoirs changes it. But this specific event of Napoleon personally confronting the army meant to arrest him and that same army defecting to him is completely factual.

Anyway, I hope you liked this small snippet of what ConquerorTale will potentially be. I might post more stuff like this. These stuff I wouldn't call spoilers for ConquerorTale as a whole because the main focus of it should be the big bad war between all of them. At least, I'd hope so. These small stories are just their backstories which I will put a lot of attention in. But you can easily spoil yourself by just learning about who they're based off lol.

Also fun fact! Beethoven symphony 3 was supposed to be named after Napoleon. It was originally called Bonaparte because Beethoven admired him as a liberator. But once Beethoven learned that Napoleon crowned himself emperor he tore up the title and renamed it to Eroica. This could also potentially mean that ConquerorTale Sans's theme is approximately 50 minutes long lol.

I want to complain for a little bit but I can't be bothered to make a video about it lol.

The European part of my AU is so annoying to make. Alexander (Papyrus) didn't interact with continental Europe so he's removed from this situation but he is important for Egypt and especially for Cleopatra (Frisk) because in history the city Alexander founded in Egypt which he named Alexandria (there's loads of Alexandria's by the way lol) was where Cleopatra grew up and became the educated woman we know Cleopatra to be. But that's trivial compared to continental Europe.

The real problem is Rome. Because they're Rome. I'll start with good old Scipio (Asriel). I still want Asriel to be the son of Asgore and Toriel. Asgore is Genghis Khan, Toriel is Catherine the great. Genghis (Asgore) rose to prominence a MILLENIUM after Scipio (Asriel) and Catherine's (Toriel) story was TWO MILLENIUMS after Scipio's (Asriel) story.

If you know about Catherine the Great's story, you'll know her mother wanted her to get married to a rich and powerful person. So I'll probably just use that to have Toriel be part of Asgore's harem and conceived a child but since they couldn't leverage political control with that. The child was sold to Rome or whatever. I don't know. I'm pulling a lot of strings here.

Next is good ol' Caesar (Gaster) . Caesar (Gaster) conquered Gaul... which is geographically modern day France. Which is a problem because I have Napoleon (Sans) here as well... I could just have Napoleonic France be the "continuation" of the Roman Republic after the West collapse. But here's the problem with that... I want everyone to be around the same age with at most half a century age difference between the youngest and oldest.

I also want to replicate the Corsican nationalism and Anti-French sentiments Napoleon had in his early years. To do that I can potentially have Sans be born before the first Punic war. This would technically make him Carthaginian and when Rome annexed his home, Sans would have anti-roman sentiments.

But that's not perfect. Napoleon is the emperor of FRANCE. Sans needs to rise in France. Which means the lands Caesar conquered needs to fall. The Germanic tribe of the Franks needs to lay the groundworks for modern France. Charlemagne who isn't present in this AU needs to be establish his empire which splits between West Francia (France) and East Francia (Germany).

(Admittedly, Charlemagne is easier to implement in this AUs history than Napoleon but he isn't known to put his hand in his pockets nor did people call him short)

That little conquering Caesar (Gaster) did to Gaul makes Napoleon (Sans) story complicated. Linguisticly as well because the word Kaiser and Tsar came from Caesar's name. Catherine (Toriel) is a Tsar. Now I know that I could prevent this by just having them live in their time period. But where's the fun in that? And also at that point, I'd just be copy pasting a history book and changing the names.

Empress Theodora (Muffet) herself isn't very hard to do. However, the Byzantine empire? Now that's difficult. Just to list off a few things that I somehow need to condense.

Augustus Caesar becoming an Emperor.

Emperor Constantine legalizing Christianity which was the main religion of the Byzantine empire.

West Rome and East Rome (byzantine) splits.

West Rome falls.

The great schism that split up Roman Catholic Christianity and Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Catherine the Great (Toriel) was a devout Orthodox Christian and was one of the ways she endeared himself to the Russian higher ups.

There's also a lot of stuff I would need to omit purely so that the countries these historical figures ruled over doesn't change too much from the culture they cultivated when they were alive. This isn't specific the European history but something I'd have to do for every historical figure.

For example, Egypt right now is a very Muslim country. Islam didn't exist during Cleopatra's time and the general public believed in their own Egyptian religion. I would have to cut out the Islamic caliphates that were responsible in spreading the religion. So someone like Khalid ibn al-Walid is unfortunately not gonna be here.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to erase Muslim culture and history or anything like that. It's just that the sheer concept of condesning so much Historical events would need me to omit a lot of things and bs others. And the historical figures I picked were not only chosen because of their very loose similarity with an UnderTale character but also because there's potential conflict to be had between the characters.

Examples being:

Napoleon (Sans) and Cleopatra (Frisk) and the atrocities Napoleon committed in Cairo.

Genghis Khan (Asgore) conqueoring lands ruled by Wu Zetian (Chara)

Continental Europe with Napoleon (Sans), Caesar (Gaster) and Empres Theodora (Muffet), Catherine the Great (Toriel), Alexander the Great (Papyrus) all ruling simultaneously in their respective country.

Hell the sheer idea of having these ambitious leaders who were willing to be ruthless as a means to achieve their goal and putting them in close proximity to one another is a recipe for disaster in it for itself.

That's also one of the reasons why I didn't add someone like Shaka Zulu. Geographically, his kingdom isn't close enough with the others lol. That's my rant over. If anyone actually read this... Hope that was enjoyable lol.
