After seeing Ruri in a super cute cat-themed kimono, I wanted to draw Chizuru wearing it, and with Kubota looking so good in his Hagi-play kimono, I drew her with Hijikata wearing those clothes.

It's been a while since I drew normal-sized humans, but it was mostly a fun exercise to draw the clothes. No story here, just power couple looking good together.

I’ve scanned some of the cute full-color illustrations from the corners of Watanabe Taeko’s latest book, “Kaze Hikaru Kikou”, which is a guide to all of the historical sites that Watanabe-sensei visited (and used in the manga), and also has assorted other information related to the making of Kaze Hikaru. It’s really well done, if anyone’s undecided about buying a copy.
