Here is a list of every iPhone up to the iPhone 16.

Notice how his single camera and flash are arranged vertically, and do not appear encased together under the same piece of rectangular glass (as implied by the way the cutout on his phone case is shaped)? That means the only possible iPhone he could have is the iPhone XR.

But Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun takes place in 2015, and this is every iPhone up to 2015. The iPhone XR released in 2018.

It is impossible for Mitsuba to have a phone from the future, and no other iPhone from his time period matches up, therefore, I feel like the most logical conclusion is that he has some type of Android.

His earphones serve as additional evidence. There is a clear difference between Mitsuba's (left) and Kou's (right) earphones.

Here is a pair of Apple Earpods. They match Kou's earphones.

However, I could not find a pair of Apple EarPods that matched with Mitsuba's.

While it is indeed possible to use 3rd party accessories on Apple products, I feel it is more likely that he isn't using Apple accessories because he doesn't have an Apple product to use them on.

perhaps controversial take but i would have genuinely liked jjk at least a lot more if at least half of its main male cast was female and im not just saying this as a lesbian. i mean i think if yuji was a woman she (& her literally being born to be a vessel for someone else) would be an allegory for how women's worth is tied only to their relation to men & procreation(paralells between being a vessel and giving birth potentially?) and if geto was a woman she (& her ct being literally swallowing the worst of humanity's emotions) would be an allegory for the expectation for women to take on all the emotional labour. those were the main 2 but gojo if he was a girl would be about the expectation of perfection from women (& would also be subversive for the genre!!)

if i need to explain my thought process behind this. i made it so that they were all meant to show [anger/rage] -> [apathy/numbness] -> [mania/delirium] respectively! yanagi being due to his family's prior history of control and abuse, akiba due to his (forced) nomadic habits and general rejection sensitivity, and suzuki due to his stated "pretentious", narcissistic and self-absorbed nature (even if we didn't get much of him).

and an additional note: all three student sixteens are going to be relevant in my AU! this is for one reason: even in canon dr games, the sixteenth students were always important. mukuro ikusaba, the sixteenth student: the ultimate despair, and tied into the mastermind behind the first killing game of class 78. chiaki nanami, the sixteenth student of class 77-B: an AI made to serve as a guide for the remnants, and the "traitor" of the killing game. rantaro amami, the sixteenth student of v3: the ultimate survivor, and the key to the last class trial, as the mastermind's victim. i say this was never used ever and i will be doing that now because. why the hell not LOL
