YYH Tarot Deck Project - Information
UPDATE: Applications are now CLOSED! We are close to completing the deck and have plenty of artists now. Thank you to all who joined! :)
"The meaning of TAROT is any of a set of usually 78 playing cards including 22 pictorial cards used for fortune-telling."
Over the course of a year, we will create a deck of 78s Yu Yu Hakusho themed tarot cards. Each artist chooses as many cards as they'd like to create. At the end, if the project succeeds, we will look to print the cards and make them into an actual deck you can purchase!
The project is still ongoing and sign ups are still open to those who would like to participate! Details are in the sign up form and any questions can be directed to this blog's ask box.
Rules regarding the project.
1. Cards must contain only characters from the Yu Yu Hakusho universe, meaning manga, anime, movies, video games, or any other supplementary materials. No OCs or cross-overs are allowed as this is a YYH deck only.
2. Characters can repeat but we encourage you to branch out into minor characters as much as possible!
3. Art can be created in any medium you choose, can be digital or traditional. If your art piece is traditional, please be sure you have access to a scanner and that you can take good scans of your work. Photos of the artwork will not suffice.
4. Artwork must be original and not reused from old works. Use of references is encouraged but please be mindful of not tracing or copying any part of your artwork.
5. You MUST BE 18+ to join the project.
6. You must have discord to join the project.
Cards are claimed in intervals of 10 or so, about every other month. During each claim, every artist has the chance to sign up to draw up to 2 cards total at a time.
Claims open up on the first of a new month.
The 14th is the first check in, during which an idea must be presented.
The next check in is two weeks later, when a sketch is necessary.
The third check in is 2 weeks after that, showing progress on the card(s).
The deadlines are always 3 months after the last check in, with the ability to extend the deadline an additional 3 months further before the card is surrendered.
In order to sign up, you must use the above linked form and await our approval.
*If you are not approved, you can try to resubmit your application again, waiting at least 3 months. We can reconsider your application.
Once approved, you will be contacted via the contact information you provided and given a link to our Discord server where the project is being organized. Please be watchful for that message! It can take us anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks to get back to you.
