Made this short film in Year 11 with one requirement being there should be no dialogue at all. My group and I decided to go with a short film about depression and how we can help easily. I was very happy with the end result and we one Film of the Year at our school.

Our aim for this music video assignment was to make something completely glitched out and abstract. We chose a song we felt that represented this well. We used Final Cut with lots of clip arrangement and looping effects. We won Best Costume Design for this film.

The Venezuelan producer opens up for the first time about his sexuality, working with Kanye and his game-changing debut album.

Very interesting reading about how his personal life and experiences affect the way he produces his music. Also one of the first proper interviews done for my favorite producer.

Found another unreal visual artist. Some awesome gifs/videos/shots on his website. Gives me some abstract ideas for my video...

The first major interview with the visual alchemist behind Arca and FKA twigs.

Amazing graphic designer/visual artists. Has done some amazing collaborations with my favorite producer Arca. If I could do stuff like this in After Effects for my video assignment I totally would!. Absolutely surreal.

the top left gif is something I would also incorporate into my video assignment. Where my house is never ending and every room is the exact same. It would be very effective when played out to the class if the lights were off and the music was very loud.

first idea/inspiration for my video assignment. I want to create something like this in a similar vein where I am just walking around my house in first person. It will be pitch black with a few lights on in each room. I want to have ambient sounds and small bits of music fading in and out throughout which I will make and synthesize myself. The main look I am going for is dark, experimental, glitchy and scary.

Video Idea #2

- Using Snapchat's video loop function, use multiple phones as some sort of sequencer.

- Borrow phones that have snapchat, record myself on one phone imitating a certain rhythm. The loop function will keep the recording going.

- Record another section, repeat.

- Have an orchestra of iPhones playing some sort of song/beat all in sync.

Video Idea #1

For my video assignment, I am thinking of doing the following:

- Record myself imitating certain instruments (kick, snare, hats, percussion).

- Assigning those clips to buttons on my MIDI controller.

- Make a song/beat with those recorded clips.

- Have a small window at the bottom corner of the screen of my playing on my controller live.

- Have the rest of the screen play the recordings.

Week 3

We began using Photoshop to produce GIF's. It is quite tedious to automate things smoothly and I think it will be tough to get a unique GIF for the final submission.

Week 2

During our second workshop, we spent most of the time discussing certain relevant topics and looking at more of our teachers past works and projects. I am starting to get into the flow of this unit and enjoying it so far.

Week 1

During our first workshop, we went through the unit outline and discussed what was to come throughout the unit. It was very interesting hearing about what our teachers do for a living and where they have travelled to and lived. Their website (thisisamagazine.com) was also something I have never encountered before. I am looking forward to producing some cool and unique content for this unit.
