zoey wasnât the type to cry, to just break down without reason. she was the type of woman that kept her feelings bottled up, dealing with them on her own terms and in her own way of healing. she didnât cry after justin had left her upon finding out about her pregnancy, she didnât cry after she gave birth to abel and became worried about how she was going to raise him. she never cried when it became too much, nor did she cry (at least now this bad) when abel was diagnosed with autism. zoey was a strong woman, probably strong enough to worry the men around her most days with her inability to show her emotions like most women did. zachâs words were enough to make her sob in a more hysterical manner, knowing that she wasnât alone or that she wasnât letting down her son was the words that she needed in that moment. never feeling like a failure, the more the school called to tell her that her son was uncontrollable despite the medication rushing through his veins, was enough to make her feel as though she was failing the one person in her life she vowed to never fail. ââ i just â- , ââ before she could even finish arguing, she gave in with a nod of her head. zach was her support system, someone she wanted to build a family with and someone she would be happy to see at the end of an aisle, but she couldnât help but feel as though she tied him down in a situation he didnât entirely want. ââ iâm not ââ iâm not failing him, right? ââ she asked, voice cracking. ââ i â- i love you, zach. ââ
Zach had seen Zoey cry once before and it was just as unbearable just as before. He loved this girl so much and he didnât want her to feel bad at all, he just continued to hold her tight. Hoping his physical comfort would help with her sadness. âYou are not failing him at all, youâre doing the best you can and thatâs all you can do. Okay?â Zach said kissing her head. âI love you so much, okay? And you got me- no matter what. Iâm here for you and Abel because I love you both a lot. You guys are my future.â
