Sweater Weather

Hey Edith,

I know it is still quite summery in Toronto, autumn is in fact fast-approaching here in Vancouver. You know what that means? SWEATER WEATHER! There is no one else who understands my close affinity to cable-knit sweaters but you, and apparently I can never really get enough of them.

Although I am not a huge fan of consumption (for obvious reasons), sweaters are really all I wear for three quarters of a year. I have hand-picked a few of my favourites that I have seen on MR PORTER so far!

Well, there you have it: what I spent the equivalent of roughly $175 CAD on. I know, you're rolling my eyes at how boring it is, but it meets all my needs: black leather, silver hardware, and difficult to open.

It's also mid-sized and made in leather, from & other stories.

I'm sorry about not posting - life has been pretty overwhelming lately, and my internet is slow as balls! I've been to some art galleries recently, though - I'll put some pictures up once I can find my bloody USB.

Hi E!

I came across these Converse x Maison Martin Margiela White & Blue Painted Sneakers while I was scrolling mindlessly on SSENSE yesterday.

These sneakers have a layer of white paint that eventually crack to reveal the original blue colour underneath. Despite not having to see how they would end up, I anticipate that it would be the kind of aesthetic that I enjoy.

I have a pair of canvas sneakers that are growing old, and I am now very tempted to splatter white paint all over them. Thoughts?

Hi Edith,

Remember I purchased the Balenciaga Medium Clip a couple of months ago when I was on vacation? I finally started using it, and I am becoming more and more obsessed with it as I use it.

This bag is perfect for running errands around town, and it works wonderfully for meetings as well! I just throw in my iPad, wallet, and my Moleskine with a decent pen, and I'm set.

I am also glad that I decided to get the bag in this beautiful navy colour rather than a black one, it goes with many of my outfits! And to add, I have yet to see this colour being sold anywhere in Vancouver!

I hope you're still having a blast in Berlin, do keep me updated!

Wishlist: The Brixton by ONA ($279)

I have been looking for a camera bag for quite a long time now. I think it is important that a camera bag should have functional and protective dividers to hold my spare lenses and my laptop.

I am a little bit of a neat freak, so I always have small pouches and bags to fit my smaller items into. With the Brixton bag however, I wouldn't need that because there are so many compartments in the bag to keep my fidgety items organized. It even has a compartment for my iPad!

Functionality aside, I also think the aesthetics of a bag is equally important. The Brixton disguises itself as a regular messenger bag, so I can still stay stylish when I am out and about with my camera. This smoke-coloured canvas bag has a water-resistant wax finishing, so my gear stays dry when I am on vacation.

Edith, maybe we can both get one so we can be twinning after you get your DSLR!

Is what I first thought when I saw those shoes. I don't think they're ugly, I actually quite like the look of them. I'm just surprised that you went for them. They're still overpriced, by the way. Let me know what you wear with them! And upon further inspection, they're snap closures and not velcro, aren't they...... Obviously you care about what I think ;)

After months of searching (click here for evidence), I have finally found the pair of sneakers. These are the Raf Simons White Etched Leather Adidas Edition Low Top Sneakers that I just bought online. I will definitely update you once they arrive, but I am super super stoked about these!

Hey Edith, I'm afraid that I am slowly becoming consumed by wanderlust. On one hand, I am happy that I am finally becoming productive again, but on the other, I really wish I could be going to Amsterdam with you.

The aesthetics of the busy Tokyo streets are truly one of a kind. Now that I am back in Vancouver, I have yet to see anything that is remotely similar to the experiences that I have had in Asia. The weather has been rather nice in "Raincouver", so I do try to stay outdoors to soak up the sun as much as I can.

Other than that, I have just been going online window-shopping. The summer sales are ending soon, so you might want to hurry up if you have anything you need to purchase.

I haven't heard from you in quite a while, E. I hope you are enjoying yourself, and do keep me posted on your adventures.

It seems like it was yesterday when I've gone all the way to Taipei just to visit you, E! Can't believe you're already moving on to new (and hopefully better) things, but do try your best to spam me with your lovely food photos before you leave though. I remember not being able to go to the zoo when I was visiting because I couldn't handle the heat! 

I, too, have a lot of things on my mind that remind me of adult-like responsibilities and obligations, and it is not a good feeling. Summer school is starting next week, and I am taking two reading/writing intensive courses simultaneously. To be quite honest, I think I am already starting to regret, the reading list for one of the two courses is immense, I literally have no time to relax. At least I am thankful that Vancouver actually has sunshine right now, though.

To answer your question about what I’ve been up to……

Well, many things. Real life is slowly encroaching upon my summertime bliss and my body is rejecting it. Means that school and rent and winter is on my mind. Internship is almost over, and I’m stuffing my face with all the noms I can before I leave glorious Taipei. I went to a buffet today, but I didn’t take any photos. You know me, always too busy eating away.

I went to the zoo. My mother has a DSLR that I stole and even though I have no eye for composition and my photos are amateurish at best, I did snap a few of my favourite critters. Now I know that there’s a lot of debate about whether or not the awareness that zoos bring is worth having wild animals in captivity, but obviously posting this shows what I think about the issue and let’s just not get into it.

One day, I will have my own DSLR. but right now, I am not worthy. I’ll be putting away $50 every month to try to save up. Now to just find a job that pays enough…..

Lastly, we were lucky enough to see this pair putting on a show for everyone. I can feel your laughter, Q. And yes, I was not ashamed to take pics. Though I don’t think the male knew what he was doing, he wasn’t actually inside the female. Very similar to many human males, no?

And HOW DARE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT GIVING UP ON ME. YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME, Q. THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID IT.
