Maybe you will always write about him until someone new comes along.
You never forget. It must be somewhere inside you. Even if the brain has forgotten, perhaps the teeth remember. Or the fingers.
Neil Gaiman, Trigger Warning
I exchange my life for words.
Anna KamieĹska, Industrious Amazement: A Notebook (via viperslang)
You smiled and I was lost, like a small child in a great forest never to find its way home again.
Neil Gaiman, Trigger Warning
I hope every single one of you finds what you're looking for some day. Whether it's love, or a job, or a favorite book, or even a place in this world.
I hope it sets you free
One of the saddest things about growing up is the distance that grows between people, the change that occurs in each of them and eventually somehow they may become mere strangers. You stare at photographs and smile at memories and who you were when you took them, but you are no longer that. Growing apart from someone you used to know so well, better than the lyrics of your favorite song or the houses down your favorite street is like losing a part of you youâll never get back. You used to talk every day and now you have to remind yourself that you havenât talked in awhile and sharing secrets doesnât feel the same. And the worse part? You donât realize the rift until itâs on the verge of breaking apart. There isnât always a sudden red light or a warning, it just comes and then you find yourself standing on two tectonic plates and the earthquake has already passed.
Ming D. Liu, Oceanic Trench (via mingdliu)
If I should have a daughter one day, I will teach her self love I will teach her about the world and all the good and bad she may encounter I will teach her things I wish was taught to me.
As you grow older, you see innocence disappear. You realise that the only soul that isn't deceiving you is your own. You will watch and grieve as bitterness grows deep within you, ask yourself when a smile was ever pure.
Teach me how to let go of the only part of me I ever loved without shredding myself to pieces in the process, Teach me how to accept loneliness without isolating my soul trying to, Teach me how to love the world, The world that isn't you.
Fight, even if you are so close to breaking, fight. Love like this is rare and problems are an illusion.
I never wanted you to be a lesson
I've made a home out of you Please don't usher me out the front door and say you're moving
Your absence echoes inside of me This emptiness that I loathe to carry And a longing to be disposed of; I no longer want to be in love.
Don't let your joy depend on someone else, their presence in your life isn't permanent.
Find someone who understands your silence.
When something ceases to bring you pleasure, you cannot talk the pleasure back into it.
Maggie Nelson, from Bluets (via violentwavesofemotion)
