Prompts: Bed sharing | Fake Dating | “We’re Friends, right?”

Life in Midgar is a whole lot different to that in Nibelheim. People in the city are more touchy-feely, for one thing. Especially Cloud’s best friend Zack. Not that Cloud really minds when Zack touches him… on the contrary, actually. But he’s afraid that other people might get the wrong impression. After all, it’s not like they’re a couple or anything.

Alternate prompts for Zakkura week 2022: First Kiss | Only One Bed | A: “I think we might have a problem…” B: “I Literally left you for ten minutes.”

Cloud and Zack spends a night at an Inn while they’re on a mission together. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances involving a mysterious mouse, they end up with just one bed and there are no other rooms available. Whatever, it’s just one night.

Day 2 of Zakkura week! Prompts: Tending Wounds | Hiding Illness/Injury | “I don’t do this because you’re weak, I do it because I care.”

Zack still can’t believe it sometimes. That Cloud woke up. That they’re here, in Midgar, together. While he’s working as a mercenary Cloud is still recovering from his coma, and Zack wants to make sure he doesn’t push himself too hard. He can’t stand the thought of Cloud getting sick again. But now Cloud’s acting all strange. Almost like he’s hiding something…

Of all the things Cloud experienced in his life, growing old was the most unexpected. Years after meteorfall, as an old and crooked man, he visits Aerith's church, reminiscing among the ghosts of the past that haunt him. Ghosts of people he lost.

People he loved.

But what if he was given a second chance? To stop the disaster before it even happened?

To save the people he thought were lost forever.

Zakkura Week 2022, Day 5. Prompts: Road trip / Journey | Modern AU | “Wait, you guys aren’t a couple!?”

Zack takes his best friend to a concert with his favorite band, while pretending he’s not hopelessly in love with him.

Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worse pretty much right away. Including the fact that everyone they meet seems to assume they’re a couple.

Fortunately for Zack, Cloud is completely clueless.

Zakkura Week 2022, Day 6. Prompts: Starry Night | SOLDIER!Cloud | “Well, you need a hand with him?”

Cloud has everything he could ever wish for. He's finally moved to Midgar, been accepted into the SOLDIER program, has an amazing boyfriend, and one of the elite Firsts as his mentor.

Well, that last part doesn't hold quite the same appeal after their first training session.

At least Zack is there to pick up the pieces.

Zakkura Week 2022, Day 7. Prompts: Buster Sword | Soulmates | “I’m impressed. And maybe a bit turned on.”

Cloud would never forget the first time he met his soulmate. Not that he hadn’t tried. Unfortunately, working at the same place with your soulmate makes them a little hard to avoid, even if you’re totally not ready to settle down. At least not yet.

Zakkura Week Day 6 is here! I'm absolutely still working on day 5 because it's On Brand for me to be late. Starry Night | SOLDIER!Cloud | “Well, you need a hand with him?” Former SOLDIER Third Class, Cloud Strife knew that dealing with the remnants of the Deepground labs would uncover some ghosts and stir up a few nightmares. He’d been prepared for that. But, as fate would have it, some of those ghosts are more physical than memory, and Cloud will face that, too.

“Cloud speaking.” “Strife, I know it’s a good few hours before you’re supposed to come back, but something came up. It would be appreciated if you could return to the site.” “What’s going on?”
