At the thought of someone else whose name was close to her own and as close it had been Red Minna. âReally! I never knew a single person in this whole big world whose was also called Red!â Her pirate persona had slipped due to excitement and she looked at the man with true happiness. It had only lasted as long as the snap of reality and torture hit the moment his name had hit her ears. âWolf?â Â She replied in a hushed tone. This caused her smile to wilt and instead a pinch of fear cast over her. Not even the strongest alcohol could fog what stormed in her head. Wolf, Wolff, Derek Wolff. Big eyes and shining teeth. He will get you Red. Then as if to snap out of a trance Red turned back forward and nodded slowly. âThatâs unique.â She said in a quick and broken tone. The drinks didnât want to stop her game and Red couldnât consider this Wolf to be anything close to the Wolff she knew. Or that is what the naive mindset tried to play in her mind.
The males brown opals narrowed, noting the chink in the fearsome pirate girls armor when his offered name whispered through her liquored lips. âI suppose I didnât either. Redâs a colour after all. Not a lot of people seem to name their babies after colours.â He would have preferred to be named after a colour, not a mad king and a prophet. Would have even committed to wearing his name, as this girl did. âYou never meet a Wolf before? There are a lot of Wolfâs and Wolfgangâs where I come from.â With another hum, the male quickened his step to walk beside the blonde, rather than behind her, and rolled his shoulders (wondering if his new pace would alter her facade, as his name had). âHow far away are these ships you want to take?â
scareletxhood:
A ship. Now the drunk Red had to find a real ship to make this stranger happy in their pirate adventure. âYes, of course I know where those are!â No, she didnât. âDonât ye worry.â In the dark already Red would have never been out but the alcohol had fueled her with so many bad decisions already that her bone shaking fear of the dark was fogged by other thoughts. âS-SaaaayâŠWhat is your name anyway squish-buckler? You can call me Red and donât think that s weird it is NOT a weird name.â Now she was rambling to save time as she tried to remember the winding streets that would lead her to the landing docks on the bay, an idea that had actually managed to come clear to her. There were ships there. Could Red steal one? Of course not but the stranger didnât need to know that. âSo who are you?â
His head nodded behind her, acknowledging the false statement as if it were true. It was dark, and late, and Zeke should have been on the hunt for his dorm, but instead, here he was, following the drunk into the night. âMy sisterâs name was Red Minna --- Red alone is nice. I like red.â The blondes name was certainly less weird than Zeke Midas, in his humble opinion. But even he doubted her name was really Red. Perhaps a nickname? âMe ---â He hummed through the quiet, taking a good look around, when his eyes werenât fixed on the girl. âIâm Wolf.â
charmpaws:
«  mhm, iâm sure they have every kindâve flavour. except pistachio because no one really likes that anyway⊠ »
âI like pistachio.â Zeke cleared his throat awkwardly, even though his confession was not a difficult one to make, given his generous taste buds that liked just about anything.
clinton-hawkeye-barton:
âWhy not?â
âCause I donât know you... and I donât care bout what you're even saying.â
burningcalcifer:
âBecause I donât want to.â Calcifer replied. âI donât need a reason why not.â
âYou do if you gonna be out here flaunting ya cookies!â
mvp-reflection:
âSounded-?â Pingâs face flushed-crap were they snoring? Or worse, sleep talking. âNope. Just mantras. Was chanting meditation mantras.â
âI ainât know what a mantra is, but why the hell are you meditating over here, then? You ainât homeless, is you?â
berliozangora:
âD-.â Berlioz stopped himself. He stared at the man woodenly, but his mind was considering the consequences for himself. Smoking was common enough and he knew lots of people who smoked packs a day without shame. Still, if one of his siblings found out- âFine!â Berlioz snapped abruptly, pulling at his cigarette pack forcefully.
Zeke would have settled for one, but the whole pack was in his sight now, and greed was an ever growing demon within the huffing senior --- so he snatched said object without concern from the young fellow beside him (not that there was anywhere to run off with it). First he filed one cigarette between curved lips, then he stashed the packet into his own jacket pocket, eyeing the other from the side in the process, for a reaction. âYou donât mind, do you?â
scareletxhood:
With now two stable hands grasping at her the small swaying body was able to focus⊠not for long but long enough to take a look at just who she was inviting to partake in her drunken adventure with her. Sure, Red often partook in games with people but that was when she was sober. Wide blue eyes set on him as he spoke and when he mentioned other pirates a whole new excitement twisted in her system. Clasping her hand over her mouth she gasped. âArg. Ye be right.â She let out in a smaller tone. âI can fight them off though! Iâm the most feared pirate of âem all no one takes me.â She jostled forward with glee, the liquid in the glass rum swept from side to side but never fully spilled. âYouâre a smart one by tunder. I need a good one like you on my crew!â Red nodded. âI can teach you how to be the second best pirate there is.â Then she swung her head back taking down more rum and laughed again. âCome on. I need to find a ship.â This was when Red pulled her arms away from the man and began walking once more as if the interaction never happened but in the back of her head she wanted the new pirate fellow to follow and help her with her unreachable desires.
Zeke would have rather enjoyed letting go of the girl prematurely to see if her consistent swaying would result in a meeting with the concrete below, and as she blabbered on about being a fearless seaman, his desire to do so was rather prominent in mind. Of course, Zeke did not believe the small blonde through each word. She was tiny, and unstable, and clearly full of childishness. If he couldnât even call himself a âpirate people fearedâ with his early childhood in his veins, there was no way this girl would qualify. âA ship, you say?â He questioned, dragging suitcase behind steps that instinctively stalked hers. âDo you know where you can find one?â
berliozangora:
The nudging caught Berlioz off guard, and he struggled to maintain his grip on his lighter. However, the actual reason for his shock came as a response to the manâs sound. Berlioz had come across lots of smokers having performed at music clubs, but at this moment he felt an unwanted responsibility come with the task to answer the wheezing manâs question. Â âYou sure?â He raised an eyebrow, casual enough.
Slapping a hand down on his own thigh while loudly clearing his throat, Zeke tilted his head forward, eyeing the other from an angle more noticeable than a mere side glance, arguably impatient and irritated by the patronizing tone his mind took from the others words. âWould I ask if I wasnât?â He questioned in return, controlling his temper through the occasional huff. Of all people to sit next to, Zeke just had to be stuck with a young smoker. âSo you gonna give me one, or not?â
Red had felt like she snapped. The fact that she didnât have many people to go to. To play her games with, follow people in bushes or pretend she was someone else with. She missed Markl⊠PerditaâŠ. Bo and the other people who were no longer there. Thatâs why in the middle of the night Red went out dressed as a pirate and even though she hated drinking and the effects it had on her she drank. A bloody pirate carrying a handle of rum around the streets of Monaco; lost. âYO HO! YO HO! Itâs a pirates life for me!â She screamed. She was at a loss of things but as she drunkenly slumped around streets of blurry lights she laughed as she stumbled into someone. âCome sail the seven seas with me!âÂ
Impact with another body so late into the night wasnât expected by the male who dragged luggage behind him, but when that body screamed and laughed nonsense in his face, his grip on his possessions dropped, so hands could catch each of the strangers elbows to steady her. Zeke didnât understand. Not really, anyway. From the costume to the smell of booze, it was understood that the strange little blonde was consumed with liquor and the yelling, perhaps alluded to some sort of distress --- but Zeke didnât know her. She might have wandered off from some dress-up party, might have always been an emotional and childish drinker, before walking right into his arms, and sailing the seven seas with her, whatever that meant, undoubtedly was a bad idea. âSlow down there, captain. You donât want the whole world to know what plans you have, do you? Some rival might beat you to it.â
âMy current record for staring at a button I shouldnât press and not pressing it is 19 minutes.â
âI donât understand why youâre telling me this.â
âI wasnât asleep-honest.â Ping rubbed their eyes, âJustâŠ. Meditating.â
Zeke kicked his feet up on his desk and sighed. Heâd clearly heard a faint snore before poking the strangerâs arm to wake them, but if they werenât sleeping, he didnât care. âWhatever you say --- just looked and sounded like it, I guess.â
«  i know some pretty good ice creams spots, if youâd like! itâs getting hotter and hotter here, i wouldnât mind another scoop⊠ »    /   OPEN.
âAn ice cream does sound pretty good right about now... Do they have strawberry?â
âBefore you ask,â He started. âYes, that is a box full of frosted sugar cookies. And no, Iâm not going to share with you.âÂ
âWhat?!â He wasnât interested in the cookies initially, but being told he couldnât have them, quite clearly made Zeke aggressively want some. âWhy not?!â
