story behind it is that all day after a big argument, sm is too full of himself/stuck up to face pv himself, so he keeps sneaking flowers around pv’s life. In his garden, the flowers blossom like crazy. In his hair he brushes out tiny petals. in his coffee there’s. yeah. they’re everywhere. but pv nonchalantly always goes “aww there is so much beauty in thr world” and shrugs it off not even caring how supernatural it is. and sm is pissed offffff in the bg bc he wants the credit. so at the end of the day, after all those hijinks and antics, sm has to suck it up with a sorry bouquet straight to his face. and ofc pv knew the whole time but. he knows how to get his way with a partner as crazy as his. and anyways, the effort is what counted <3

Shadow Milk considered Pure Vanilla’s friendship when it was offered, then the gasp is him remembering. It explains why his reaction was so visceral. Pure Vanilla accidentally gave him a direct flashback.

oh my god, there's whole books series that ALREADY do that. Have they never heard of the No Fear series published by Sparknotes? It puts a plain everyday english translation on the opposite page from the original text, plus character lists with descriptions and helpful commentary.
