The Mind Inside Tai Chi – Review 4
Continuing with the review on 2.3 Qi.
The author wrote that “The first element of mind approach in practicing taijiquan is qi.” I find this very strange. Shouldn’t the first element to using the mind be intention? We always say “no Yi, no Qi” but never “no Qi, no Yi“. I feel that the author has not explained Qi ……click here to continue reading.

Accreditation
If the question had come from a young chap I would not be surprised. But for the question to come from someone nearing his 70s it was interesting to say the least.
Someone, X, visited me to find out more about learning Tai Chi. The first question…… click here to read more.

The End
Dear Readers & Friends,
I feel that this blog has reached its logical conclusion. I know it is difficult to build something up, tear it down, rebuild again, take it down again, and so on.
However, in the larger scheme of things we must not be afraid to start anew, to leave the boat behind once we have crossed the river. This is what I have done by leaving this blog behind and starting up with my…

Learning Wing Chun Outside the Box Vol 2 How time flies when I am having fun writing Vol 2 in the series Learning Wing Chun Outside the Box.
Learning Wing Chun Vol 1
Learning Wing Chun Vol 1
Learning Wing Chun Outside the Box Vol 1 : Thinking Creatively About Wing Chun Force is a free eBook that is meant to make us think about the way we approach our practice of Wing Chun; in this case the generation of force.

Reality Hurts
Its a common refrain – traditional techniques are so deadly that they cannot be tested for real.
At which point the sports practitioner will laugh and say that if its so deadly that it cannot be tested how do you know if it will really work?
Both sides have a valid argument.
So what happens when a traditional, so-called deadly technique is used in a challenge match?
See for yourself……… I would…

Busy Period
How time flies. Its been quite a long while since I last posted.
It will be a while longer before I write anything as I will be taking a trip next week to my hometown. Also, working on a supposedly short eBook on Tai Chi Chuan using Slate but its turning out to be quite a wordy one.
If anyone is interested to take Wing Chun lessons you can email me. I will try to spare some time for those who are…

New Tung Hu Ling Push Hands Video? Came across this video of Grandmaster Tung Hu Ling doing push hands today. Have not seen it previously.
99% Wongs
I recently read this about the dangers of going to the ground in a real fight on a forum :-
Rorion Gracie noted about fighting on the ground in the U.S.A.: “In Brazil we fight Mano et mano. Americans are like dogs, everyone, anyone will attack you. It’s not a safe choice. Because of this, we are changing our training to include more stand up.
I read the above a few days after seeing this video …

How?
How? http://wp.me/s4aExg-how
“How did you do it?” – my student asked.
The reader might think my student was asking a question of a secret teaching, secret principle or secret fajing method. But he wasn’t.
During training we had strayed off our usual space and ended up near some round pillars. So there I was explaining how to recover from a push and demonstrating how to train the principle using Step Back Repulse Monkey when…
