I just love that this very video is an accumulation of thousands of years worth of art made by people who have never met each other. The concept of this video was so completely unfathomable to every single artist who made the sculptures and yet they’ve all put something toward the creation of it.

Y’all this is a great video to study to observe the body language of a very happy but also very excited cat.  Lots of people see videos of excited cats doing things like climb rock climbing walls or get on small boats and think they are angry or scared, when they aren’t.  Here’s a good example of happy excitement and tension in a cat where the cat’s pleasure is easy to see.  The cat’s tail is lashing and its ears are going backward and forward like crazy, but the cat is not angry, it is merely off its shits because snow is just incredible.  This is a wildly playful cat which might play-attack a hand or other animal because it is so excited, but not out of anger.  Note the zoomies at the end to burn off some of that energy!

Think about it. When we humans do something fun and very physical, our bodies are often tense, at the ready, and a lot of our body language does look kind of aggressive or even scared. Cats are the same!  Animals at play or investigating new things often show some tension, but tension is not the same as anger or fear!

okay but gimme twins who are weird family members at dinner at nero's. not in a way that they don't appreciate it, or that they complain or anything, more like they are polite to an uncomfortable fault. they just have no idea what to do, at all, without any prompting. you'd expect fourty-year-olds to know what to do around the table.

maybe offer to help serve when there are so many people, or pass a utensil, compliment the food, or help clean up afterwards. twins are so focused on trying to act normal they are completely disengaged from everything. they don't do anything wrong or directly offensive, but it's impossible to tell if they liked anything or not.

dante is so repressed he can't even compliment the food, which he really liked, with words through his mouth. vergil lacks the experience to truly appreciate how well everything is cooked, and can't say much either. they try so hard to stay polite but it comes off as them being dismissive.

afterwards, nero just sits there trying to understand it all. he's glad they've come, and he's proud of himself for being a good host, but he has no idea if they liked it at all. was the food good? it absolutely was, he has tasted it, then how come nobody said anything? they didn't even offer to help with the dishes. what, is he supposed to be their maid or something? no way. does he want to call them for dinner again?... yes, but they were such bastards he needs some time before the next time. kyrie certainly deserves better guests!

Summary: Dante and Lady are on a hunt in an amusement park, but their day of carnival games and demon hunting is interrupted by Lady's past. (Note: Can be read on its own, but works best if read after Chapter 4 of a "A Good Turn.")

Excerpt:

What really caught Dante's attention was that at least half of the children in the family must've be adopted, since they bore little to no resemblance to the couple, but all the kids treated them like parents. As an orphan himself, Dante thought that was pretty damn cool, especially since they all seemed happy. ... This was the sort of happy family that made him miss his own lost family. The sort of family that, as a homeless street kid, he would've given anything to be adopted by.

So why was Lady radiating pure murder? While smiling? Dante did NOT like that smile.

She walked up to the middle-aged father as he rose from his seat to grab some more napkins. "Oh my god, Mr. Hendricks?! Is that you?" Dante's jaw almost hit the pavement at her bubbly, girlish tone. Lady sounded like a… like a girl! A teenage girl!

It was freaking unnatural, and the dissonance made his head spin.

The man blinked down at her, smiling automatically. "Oh, hello!"

Lady took off her sunglasses and met his eyes. "Do you remember me, Mr. Hendricks?"

Mr. Hendricks's florid, sunburned face drained of color, leaving him looking like a lump of sweaty bread dough. "M-Mary?"

Her sweet smile melted like candy to reveal the hidden razorblades, just before her fist slammed into his nose.
