She escaped the castle, yes. I let her.

I wanted her to taste the cold, to feel the illusion of freedom in her lungs — just long enough for it to matter when I take it back

They never learn.

You don’t run from me. You don’t hide from me. You prolong the inevitable.

And when I find her — and I Will —

I won’t just feed.

I’ll savor.

I want her to feel every second of it.

Every inch of her body realizing she was never anything more than a passing indulgence I decided to remember.

Because I NEVER don’t lose prey.

I smell her before I taste her — that warm, metallic scent laced with fear.

It clings to her skin like perfume. Intoxicating.

I take her hand slowly, reverently, like one might pluck a rose already weeping red.

I close my eyes.

The first bite is always the most divine.

She tenses… resists… and then — she gives.

They all do.

And I? I savor it. Every tremble. Every whimper. Every heartbeat against my lips like a drum calling me home.

My gaze drifts upward, to the vaulted ceiling above.

No guilt. No shame. Only clarity.

I am what they whisper about in trembling prayers.

What they flee from in their dreams.

Hunger made flesh. The night in silk.

And when it’s over —

when all that remains is a fading warmth and a smear on my skin —

I laugh.

Not to mock her.

No.

I laugh because it was exquisite.

Because, for one glorious moment... the world had a taste.
