Pitching an Original Animated Series Idea I had
Imagine if there was a new animated superhero show not based on any pre-existing comic series unlike something like Invincible or The Boys.
Imagine if there was a new long-running story-driven animated series with teenagers and young adults being its target audience.
Imagine a show where the charm of something like Steven Universe or The Owl House, a world similar to Marvel, DC, or Invincible, the storytelling structure of certain shonen anime like One Piece or My Hero Academia, lore that is similar to the likes of The Incredibles, JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure, and Hellsing, and the nostalgia of the 2010s all combine together into one huge result.
What you get when you combine all five of these qualities is BraveHeart.
BraveHeart takes place in an alternate 2010s where the world is ridden with superheroes and supervillains with powers called “Mights”, with the world losing its greatest hero not too long ago.
The story itself is about a young middle schooler named Noah Moore unexpectedly getting a might and becoming a hero after he drank a cup of water with Prometheus’ hair strand without him noticing. As the story progresses, Noah has to learn how to lead a hero team with his classmates, how to consistently save civilians and fight off villains, how to protect himself and other heroes from harm, and how to continue and honor the legacy of his idol, Prometheus.
Here in this series, you will find themes such as legacy, family, love, and so much more to be found as the story and series progresses.
The lore and history of this universe itself is tied to real world history, from the creation of Mighties during the Second World War to the failed terrorist attack that was intervened by Prometheus on 2001, with the series’ main antagonists themselves being tied to and ultimately responsible for most of the lore and history of this universe.
One of the many reasons why I want to make this possible is because I feel like there isn’t enough animated shows aimed for teenagers and young adults alike, this is especially true with those in the superhero genre.
I also feel like there isn’t an original story-driven cartoon in the superhero genre. We have one for the fantasy genre in the form of The Owl House, We have one for the mystery genre in the form of Gravity Falls, sci-fi with Steven Universe, and so on but nothing for the superhero genre. I believe that BraveHeart can fill the role of the definitive original story-driven cartoon for the superhero genre.
Do I plan on making this a franchise? Absolutely! One of my goals for this series is to successfully establish a new universe and franchise, with it spawning prequels, many spin-offs, and maybe even crossovers and a multi-film adaptation or a live action TV adaptation of the main story!
The reason why I want to make this into a franchise is because I, and probably many if not a handful of superhero fans want another big superhero franchise that isn’t Marvel, DC, Invincible, My Hero Academia, or The Boys.
I also want this to serve as a gateway for up-and-coming fans to get into the superhero genre and maybe even try other superhero franchises!
Overall, I am really passionate and confident about this project of mine, and I hope I can one day make this a reality. I hoped you all enjoyed reading this pitch I made!
