Ziggy is no longer with us. When I think of him, I think of a quote from Blade Runner. It deals with the fact that life is relatively short for us all, and in the case of the antagonists of the film, even shorter. “The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very very brightly…” Ziggy’s light burned so very brightly, he made me a better person, he brought a smile to many a person’s face. His strength through this adverse year, made me proud. That is how I will remember him; and hope if I am ever faced with such adversity, I handle it with the aplomb he showed. No one ever said this was a fair world, but you can control the time you have by filing it with wonderful beings. So today, hug someone or some furry friend for Ziggy, we only have a short time in this world, make sure you find loved ones you can share the experience with.
