@Apple #iPad2 Get it on March 11th! 2 Cameras, A5 dual-core, Better Graphics, Thinner, more "magical", of course. Yes please! http://amplify.com/u/bsgar
So funny on last night's #dadsontech @breakbumpertv show. I was so busy w/ the wirecast feed and sound, I was messing up left and right. :) I'll do better next show... you would think this was my first podcast. One example: I was trying to make a point about how the new Amazon Streaming service is their first attempt to expand their kindle (text only) approach to media. But it came out as their Nook (B&N) and B&N Kindle (Amazon). http://amplify.com/u/bsfd7
...And so begins by quarterly bitching about Apple iOS and pop-up notifications. I hope they announce something. RT this again at #WWDC http://amplify.com/u/bsf26
@Microsoft failure to sync @google w/ #MSOutlook on the Mac, I'll use Apple Mail & @BusyCal but expecting Apple Cloud update http://amplify.com/u/bsexh
How do you think most Developers feel when these Apple event occur? I would think that it's scary because the smaller shops that have created utilities for Mail, Contacts, iCal have no idea how these applications will change. Many times, features announced can completely ruin the entire product they have designed. I wonder if there is any consideration under NDA that Apple makes them aware ahead of time? Probably not. http://amplify.com/u/bsekf
Chomp- the answer for Android's sucky Marketplace search
Amplifyâd from techcrunch.com
And itâs not just whatâs underneath â Chomp on Android actually looks really good and gives you a pleasing way to browse apps. Navigation is simple and intuitive, and the core way to browse when you find the category youâre looking for is just to swipe from side to side across different apps until you find the one you want.

Star Tours: Will there be more than one destination? #WDW #disney #DHS @wdwnt
Even though this is speculation, this is some really great news for those of us that have been asking for more variety on this and other rides at Walt Disney World. For those of us that attend WDW frequently, and know the layout of Star Tours very well, know that this is indeed possible. We'll have to see what Disney Imagineers have in store for the rebellion, but this is exciting.

WDWNTâs own Cody Smith recently attended the âLove is Magicalâ pin event at Walt Disney World. How does this apply to Star Tours? Well, there was a pin preview board at the event, and Disney was showcasing some of the pins that will be released when Star Tours re-opens at Disneyâs Hollywood Studios on May 20th and Disneyland Park June 3rd:
Letâs examine the posters in order from left to right:
On Geonosis (a setting from Episode II), guests may be chased by Boba Fett and the Slave I vehicle.
The second pin features Darth Vader and the Death Star, so we may be running into some friends from the Empire once again.
Coruscant is the third poster, an already revealed location.
Kashyyyk is the 4th poster, the home of Chewbacca. Since we noticed concept art that looked like this planet behind George Lucas in a Disney-released publicity shot from many months ago and were then told we will see Chewbacca along the way, this location is really no surprise. However, the poster clearly states that we will visit Treetop Villas, perhaps an inside joke about Disneyâs Treehouse Villas?
Hoth is the fifth planet poster. This snowy planet from Episode V has a poster featuring a Tauntauns and what we believe is a Wampa (the snow-monster that attacks Luke Skywalker).
Tatooine is the sixth planet poster. The already revealed scenario where guests get stuck in the middle of a podrace is featured here, including famous racer Sebulba from Episode I.
The seventh poster pin features Bespin, the cloud city from Episode V. You may remember Bespin was featured in the queue-area commercial Disney previewed last summer at Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando.
The final poster pin features Naboo from the prequel trilogy. Home to Queen Amidala and the Gungans (including Jar Jar Binks), the Starapeeder 1000 may encounter a giant sea monster like the one featured in Episode I.

Lessons in Pluralism: Income disparity chart

Credit: Mother Jones
During the New Deal, the wealthy and powerful didnât like what was going on very much, but they were getting their asses kicked politically by FDR, so there wasnât a lot they could do about it. In the post-World War II decades (1945-1975), a lot of the business community was making really good money because union workers, newly economically secure retirees, veterans who had college educations because of the GI Bill, and other working class people whose incomes were rising, were buying a lot of their products: homes, cars, TV sets, appliances, and all the other wonders of that era. Business leaders might try to tinker around the edges, but they also realized there were benefits to them in that strong, stable American middle class. With the globalization and financialization (deregulated bankers getting more and more reckless with other peopleâs money) of the economy, and the steady weakening of unions, it began to occur to a lot of the big money guys that made America didnât need a financially strong middle class or retirees with money anymore. If they could make money selling to Europeans and Brazilians and Chinese and Indian folks, or just by taking other peopleâs money and place big bets that no one but them understood on the Wall Street casino, what good were workers with decent wages, an American safety net, or those annoying unions?
ââŠover the last decade, income levels for middle class families have stayed essentially flat, while the cost of living for most basic household necessities have gone up considerably: average grocery costs for a family of four have gone up more than $200 a month in the last decade; the average American had to spend about $3,000 more on their health care per year than they did at the beginning of the decade; household energy costs have been climbing at about 8 percent a year; in early 2000, the average price per gallon of a tank of gas was $1.31, while in January 2010 it was $3.06; and for those families with kids in college, tuition and fees have gone up an average of almost 6 percent a year each of the last 10 years.
The good news is that the people of Wisconsin are not buying the corporate rightâs BS. Check out this great new poll from Wisconsin; the governor is getting totally hammered in public opinion. The other good news is that we can all join the people in Wisconsin who are fighting back. This Saturday, there will demonstrations at every state capitol and in every major city. Help fight for your democracy this weekend. Help fight for the American way, and a check on the power of big business.

Video Interview with Brian Rothenberg of @SkillSlate #theroadmap @breakbumpertv @bmrothenberg

The Roadmap is a weekly show by founders Zev Mo Green and Ramon B. Nuez Jr., where they interview NYC-based companies and business leaders. They also investigate web culture trends and how they are affecting companies in the space.
I first noticed SkillSlate at VatorSplash NY. The company was one of a number of start-ups that took the stage to give their 3 minute pitch. I was impressed with the pitch and appreciated the simplicity of the SkillSlate site. A few days after VatorSplash NY, I contacted Brian Rothenberg to arrange some time so we could sit and talk a bit more about SkillSlate.

Mickeyâs New Mouse House: Town Square Theater
Very, very smart.
Amplifyâd from wdwnewstoday.com
How about this: For the first time at Disney Parks, youâll have the opportunity to nail down a time for a face-to-face meeting with Mickey Mouse at the Walt Disney World Resort. Beginning this spring, weâll be offering FASTPASSfor Mickey at his new permanent home, Town Square Theater, located inside the current Exposition Hall area at the entrance of Magic Kingdom park.
Once open, itâll be more than just a new greeting space for Mickey. Imagineers are creating new elements and surprises for Magic Kingdom park guests, including an interactive queue â with an extra touch of Disney magic. Also, during the New Fantasyland construction, royalty will be visiting as the Disney Princesses will be in Town Square Theater to meet and greet their loyal subjects this spring.
How will it work? Magic Kingdom guests will be able obtain a Disneyâs FASTPASS specifying a one-hour window when they can return to see the popular character for hugs, photos and autographs â without waiting in the standby queue. This marks the first time the complimentary, computerized service has been utilized for a character meet-and-greet at any Disney Park.
Walt Disney Imagineers are already working to completely transform the space for the new experience. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more updates on this one-of-a-kind experience.
