Today is one of the hardest days in a while for me. I’m leaving my beloved family for at least six months... I won’t see them or be able to hug them for six long months. The worst thing about living in a foreign country, for me, is this loneliness. I can have employers, friends, the kids I take care of, but I can’t just go to them and demand a fatherly/motherly hug. 

I guess this is a part of growing up but it’s still fucking hard. 

I know others have it worse but all I have is my own experience. 

If I lived in another city, even region, I could just get into my car and drive to my family home. But living in England, that’s different... 

Also, another flight, and those who know me are aware of my absolute fear of flying. 

I don’t know if living abroad is for me. 

We’ll see. 

I need a lot of strength for the next six months. More than ever. 

I wrote it to feel better, I guess.

I've really been dreading this post.

After two attempts to get my national background check, the FBI has denied me. Again. And while I wish it was because I'm a badass with skeletons from my past - it's really because the quality of my fingerprints were too low (TWICE!) for me to even GET a background check. Fail.

But! Not going to let this get me down, yo.

I will continue to work on my background check so that I could potentially head out there next summer. Currently emailing speech therapists in San Diego to intern for, looking for part-time jobs and researching car options. Just going to enjoy spending time with family+theboy and trying not to go crazy at the thought of living with my parents for a year (oh god). 

Here's to another year of adventures, Tumblr. No matter where I am ;)

Star Tours: Will there be more than one destination? #WDW #disney #DHS @wdwnt

Even though this is speculation, this is some really great news for those of us that have been asking for more variety on this and other rides at Walt Disney World. For those of us that attend WDW frequently, and know the layout of Star Tours very well, know that this is indeed possible. We'll have to see what Disney Imagineers have in store for the rebellion, but this is exciting.

WDWNT’s own Cody Smith recently attended the “Love is Magical” pin event at Walt Disney World. How does this apply to Star Tours? Well, there was a pin preview board at the event, and Disney was showcasing some of the pins that will be released when Star Tours re-opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 20th and Disneyland Park June 3rd:

Let’s examine the posters in order from left to right:

On Geonosis (a setting from Episode II), guests may be chased by Boba Fett and the Slave I vehicle.

The second pin features Darth Vader and the Death Star, so we may be running into some friends from the Empire once again.

Coruscant is the third poster, an already revealed location.

Kashyyyk is the 4th poster, the home of Chewbacca. Since we noticed concept art that looked like this planet behind George Lucas in a Disney-released publicity shot from many months ago and were then told we will see Chewbacca along the way, this location is really no surprise. However, the poster clearly states that we will visit Treetop Villas, perhaps an inside joke about Disney’s Treehouse Villas?

Hoth is the fifth planet poster. This snowy planet from Episode V has a poster featuring a Tauntauns and what we believe is a Wampa (the snow-monster that attacks Luke Skywalker).

Tatooine is the sixth planet poster. The already revealed scenario where guests get stuck in the middle of a podrace is featured here, including famous racer Sebulba from Episode I.

The seventh poster pin features Bespin, the cloud city from Episode V. You may remember Bespin was featured in the queue-area commercial Disney previewed last summer at Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando.

The final poster pin features Naboo from the prequel trilogy. Home to Queen Amidala and the Gungans (including Jar Jar Binks), the Starapeeder 1000 may encounter a giant sea monster like the one featured in Episode I.
