Zexal 10th Anniversary Official Prompt List and Guidelines
Hello everyone! Mod Carmy here, and welcome to the official prompt list and guidelines post for the Zexal 10th Anniversary fan event. Here you’ll fine the official dates for the event, the prompt list and instructions to make sure your fan works get seen.
Official Dates
The Zexal 10th Anniversary event will run from April 11th (the official day of the 10th anniversary) through April 17th. The blog will stay open after the event to reblog any late work that is posted, as well..
The Prompt List
April 11th- Happy Birthday!
Zexal premiered in Japan on April 11th, 2011, making April 11th, 2021 the show’s 10th anniversary, and to celebrate we’re kicking things off with a birthday theme. Create works centered around characters celebrating birthdays or anniversaries. Or create works that celebrate the show itself.
April 12th- Personality/ Style Swap
What would happen if Shark was a peppy shonen protagonist and Yuma was the grumpy rival? Or, alternatively, what would Kotori and Cathy look like if they swapped clothing styles? These are the kind of questions you can answer for the April 12th prompt.
April 13th- Past Lives
We all know the seven Barian Emperors had past lives before Don Thousand got involved. For this prompt, create works that shows us more about those past lives, or create a past life for a character that did not have one in the show.
April 14th-Alternate Cards
Zexal was a bit infamous for its characters almost exclusively using Xyz monsters. For this prompt, it’s your chance to change that. Create a work showing a character using a different special summoning method, different card archetype or give an archetype to a character who never dueled.
April 15th-If they had a spinoff...
Pick two or three of your favorite Zexal characters and imagine them in their own spinoff show. What would Alit and Gilag be like as the protagonist of their own martial arts series? What kind of dastardly deeds do Black Mist and Vector get up to when they’re the stars?
April 16th-Vacation
Fighting evil using the power of friendship and card games is hard work! For this day, give a Zexal character a well-earned vacation. Create a work where they go to the beach, take a trip to Heartland Theme Park, relax at home or any other kind of vacation.
April 17th-Zexal III and beyond
For the final prompt, imagine that Zexal received another season after the finale. What happened to the characters after they reached the Astral World? What happens to Yuma and Astral now that they’re reunited? What are the lives of the Barians/Arclights like now that they attend school at Heartland Academy? The sky’s the limit, so create a work that showcases these post-canon adventures.

In order to make sure your works get seen and added to this blog please do these two things:
1) Type @zexal10thanniversary on your post, and make sure the link works. This will notify the mods and allow us to easily find your work and reblog it.
2) Tag your work with #zexal10th. This gives the mods another spot to find your work, and provides an event hashtag that everyone can use.
