U.S. agriculture, period, is run off (undocumented) immigrant labor. The farms have to pay the laborers sub-minimum wage in order to be profitable (the small/family farms do, at least).

When SE states cracked down on undocumented labor, farmers had a hell of a time finding laborers to work their farms. Documented workers would work one day and quit because, to them, they weren’t being paid enough for what the job demanded (they were being paid the legal minimum wage, IIRC, which isn’t enough for any job these days, but that’s a different discussion for another time). Americans don’t *want* farm jobs, because farm jobs pay peanuts.

In the Upper Midwest, dairy farms require undocumented labor to run at a profit. Farms are losing long-time workers, leaving them in difficult straits. The farmers who voted for Trump, I can only shrug and say, “Brought this on yourself. Up yours for helping to inflict him on the rest of us”.

Today this girl in class looked different because she had straightened her hair and I told her it was so pretty and straight and she goes “unlike me”. So me thinking that she has bad self esteem, I say “don’t say that. You’re pretty.” To which she replies “oh no, im pretty. I’m just not straight.” And I shit you not my stomach still hurts from laughing too hard.
