Felt like drawing them, after some time.
❖
❖ describe their hands
Though I have not figured out how to draw them yet, I imagine Ziggs has paw pads. Pretty calloused ones at that. Ziggs works with his hands every day for the majority of his waking hours but he takes good care of them. His hands are just as much tools as anything found on his workbench.
❤
❤ describe how they show affection.
Ziggs is a pretty social and handsy guy by nature but true affection is shown through how he talks to someone. If Ziggs has a soft spot for you he’ll be a bit more open and frank. If you’re lucky (or unlucky) he might even give you a nickname!

It was good to see his old friend happy. Back then, he had always wanted to know more - know what was out there. Outside of Bandle City. Away from it. Eventually, he had left it and here in Piltover, he seemed really happy. While Teemo might have left Bandle over and over, but always returned. Until he had not. Not really, at least. His house stood abandoned, for now.
“Sounds just like you, this city. Never still.” He withdrew his hand from the machinery. It felt strangely… not-dead. It was hard to discribe - probably the hex part of the tech. It didn’t feel like just an object, unmoving and inanimate, it was almost like it was powered up, though that couldn’t be true, since it was not even finished. “It would be interesting to watch. But I’d prefer the night. It’s quiet.”
And outside, the sun had set and the last red light slowly turned dark and purple, before it too would be swallowed by the night sky. The last rays of light vanished behind the tall buildings of the city.
“I was surprised. Never seen a city this restless by day.“ No, this life was not for him. Too much happening all at once. He could not have his eyes everywhere. Big city meant many people, many people… some enemies.
“Speaking of restless. Working after midnight and watching the sun rise… you spend a lot of time here, don’t you?”
He had not talked this much in… weeks. Longer, maybe. Still it got easier and easier with each question and each long and energetic answer. Just listening would have been enough.
Sounds just like you, this city.
Ziggs chuckled. He could not deny that, only embrace it. Piltover was his place. Always had been. He just had to go looking for it.
“Yeah, I do.” Ziggs replied, looking up at the machine. “I can’t really sleep until my mind is done with something. I have a better time just staying up and working on whatever project or idea is keeping me awake.”
His eyes and smile returned to Teemo, reassuring him that he was alright. A look he gave Heimer on a daily basis.
“I do sleep, in case you felt like worrying. I just do it in shorter bursts and sometimes not in a bed.”

So he really didn’t sleep much. Too rapt in work, he assumed. When Ziggs startet talking about the machine, his whole posture changed. His ears perked up, his dizziness faded almost instantly, and he might’ve talked a bit faster than he had before. Not without making sure Teemo heard him, since he always looking back at him with so much joy and ambition, that the scout didn’t know how to respond. Body language was something he didn’t have to worry about, usually. He found himself smiling back, eventually. So much élan. In comparison, it made him feel tired. Not physically, no. He could go for days if he had to and only take a few hours to rest, to sleep and eat. He was tenacious, always had been. But what did he really enjoy anymore? Really enjoy?
Luckily, he didn’t have to think of something, as Ziggs stopped talking for a moment, which Teemo saw as an invitation to ask more questions. “That does sound like a ‘night light’. Is it your project?” He felt the need to touch the metal surface of the machine. Ziggs sure knew how to make it sound exciting. Although Teemo had never been much of a scientist. He knew what he had to P, he was practical and inventive when he had to be, but not the kind of person to think of something like this. It was another world.
But now, he was curious. They hadn’t seen each other for ages. “Also, about Piltover. How is it by day?” How has life in a human city been for you, he meant.
“Yup! I’m in charge of this one. Its a city commission. Basically Piltover tells our department what problem they want to solve and they give us the funds to come up with something and make it.”
Ziggs beamed proudly as Teemo approached his machine and placed a hand on it. The metal was cool and smooth but something about it seemed to be humming with energy.
“Piltover’s great.” Ziggs’ grin shifted into one of fondness. A grin that had never existed in Bandle City. “You should see it at sunrise. The way it wakes up and comes to life. A lot of people here are crazy about what they do. Crazy about moving forward. Spend a month here and you can see the change just from looking across the top of the buildings every morning. Nothing is still. Well, except at night. Turns out when everyone is ambitious and hard working they tend to sleep a pretty solid schedule.”
That was the only thing it had in common with Bandle.
siradmiralmajorkled:
Kled was said to be a fearless one. He’d run into any battle, head first, with only victory on his mind. Wounds didn’t scare him, neither did anyone else trying to lord themselves over others.
His one good eye flicked up to the walls of the city, then back down to Skaarl. She had wandered along, running where she had pleased, and ended up here, at a city. He didn’t know which one, all he knew was that there were a lot of humans, and he was absolutely outnumbered. Thankfully, Skaarl hadn’t run directly into the city, or that would have ended badly for not only anyone they had ran into, but Kled himself.
“C’mon, git,” Kled nudged at Skaarl’s side, but the drakalops was transfixed by the sight of the city.
Sometimes, fear was normal.
Skaarl was not the only one transfixed by the city. Nearby the Noxian pair was a certain yordle scientist in a tree staring off at the firelights beginning to flicker to life in the setting sun.
“Wow.” Ziggs said out loud as he appreciated the view.
Though, of course, the blood was rushing to his head, which he did not appreciate. The yordle was upside down, dangling from a branch but not in an intentional sort of way. The short story was a flight test gone wrong. The end of the story had his leg caught in the ropes of the safety chute that was tangled helplessly in the tree.
