🪄🧶 INTEREST CHECK RESULTS 🪴🎤

Thank you for 112 responses during the course of our interest check! We're excited to see others as passionate for this project as our team. See below the cut for the detailed results.

The interest for a physical zine with physical merch was overwhelming, so we will proceed with looking into manufacturers to fulfill this! That being said, we will consider everyone's feedback as we plan our bundles to keep them at reasonable prices.

There were several interested in applying for our zine for different roles! We have updated our Carrd regarding our guidelines for contributor applications, which will open May 22nd. Please make sure to review these before applying!

If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, feel free to send us an ask! We also have a Q&A post here for any questions not answered by our Carrd.

Regarding merch, there were varying levels of interest for merch items. Almost all responses noted an interest in charms, with sticker sheets following close behind! Our list of merch items will be finalized after contributor applications.

To wrap things up, we asked a fun question to gauge everyone's favorite Beta kid. Dave won with a 35% majority! It was a close race throughout the interest check, as the leading kid spot swapped a few times.

I don't have any Homestuck pieces for examples. Will this impact my application if I choose to apply?

It will depend on the role you're applying for. For writers, it will be required for there to be at least one Homestuck-related example in your application to provide a fair assessment of character voices. If you are applying to be a page or merch artist, it will not be required but still highly recommended.

Is this project open to people who have never participated in a zine before?

Yes! This is a beginner-friendly project. The mods will be happy to guide you and answer any questions you may have along the way if accepted into our project.

Do I need a social media presence to apply?

Not at all. All applications will be judged solely on the pieces in your application and portfolio.

Where will the zine be shipped from?

If we receive enough interest, the physical zines will be shipped from the United States. However, we will have a digital PDF of the zine available as an option for those who cannot afford shipping.
