I've been a tumblr lurker, but only recently opened this account to share with the Sims2 community outside of @furbyq-sims Discord.

I'm still learning how to do all the things I want with this game.

Still here, still working on stuff when not too busy!

Recently, the store Cubic set has been on my mind. I have always wanted to see this set in bright colors. Has anyone shared fun recolors of this set?

I finally found some time to try it myself (i.e. shoved all my other projects aside). I have not recolored everything yet, but here is a picture of my initial test.

Wanting some bright colors, I chose some easy-to-relocate web safe colors (triadic colors on the color wheel). I picked a neon green for the metal, and a pink that wasn't as red as LACK.

One thing I did was make subsets recolorable that weren't already set up for it. When limited by the 2 subset limit, I have a few metal default replacements.

That's about 71 files recolored (some not shown). Crazy! Still have a few more I want to add/edit.

I was going to make the wall lamp's metal recolorable...but I don't know how to link off/on state yet.

Sims2 Painting Collection 3 - Glowing

A large collection of glowing paintings, mostly supernatural themed.

9 paintings on ApartmentLife's Albert's Discordia

16 paintings on ApartmentLife's BraveNewSimlandia (8 paintings with silver or gold frame)

17 paintings on BonVoyage's Travelposter ( @shastakiss has a basegame compatible version somewhere)

14 paintings on 3t2 Rowena Oval paintings (@electricdecay's conversion from Sims3 Store Gothique collection)

1 default painting on Basegame Spherical Splendor (because I use Christianlov's skin selector)

1 glowing version of @jodeliejodelie's witch face on FamilyFunStuff's Circulator.

Included meshes: default downlow meshes by @hugelunatic, @shastakiss, and threadsandpaper of game paintings and the custom 3t2 painting so that you can raise and lower paintings (without dark shadows) if you have ApartmentLife or mods.

If you are a MAC user, skip the included meshes and go to @electricdecay's tumblr and download the original Rowena painting there.

NOTE: painting collection 3 is combined collections 1, 2 and 3.

If you already have collection 3 from Discord (Dec 2025), you do not need to redownload--this is the same file, now shared here and a backup on simfileshare.

Updated with minor color tweaks since my initial Discord posting 3 months ago.

Sims2 Custom Content Walls

A custom wallpaper and wall panel in 5 of @pooklet's 2022 The Endless Harvest palette. These fancy walls were created by k8 at parsimonious.org.

I tend to cover walls with decorations, so I've kept the recoloring simple due to time constraints. The walls have been tweaked for color matching since my initial Discord posting.

Walls are size 256x512 and safe for MAC computers.

Sims2 Maxis Sculptures Recolors

Here are 3 more sculptures in 5 of @pooklet's 2022 The Endless Harvest palette.

Note: only the Ancient Urn has a LOD (neighborhood level of detail). I decided to use the game's original LODs (but might change my mind and update later).

Requirements: basegame for the Ancient Urn, PETS and CEP for the wall gargoyle, and NightLife for the cemetery Gray Lady.

Sidenote: I had not shared these yet, because I wanted to use a darker marble base for a couple sculptures. However, 3 months later and I still haven't gotten it done, so I thought I'd go ahead and share.

Sims2 Preorder M&G Planter Moroccan

Another decorative item in 5 of @pooklet's 2022 The Endless Harvest palette.

This planter is found in Decorative>Plants and was a bonus item for pre-ordering Mansion and Garden. It was uploaded at moreawesomethanyou and I believe @shastakiss shares a copy somewhere.

I'm not sure if you actually need M&G for this file, I keep forgetting to check the requirements, sorry!

Note: mesh is included, but I renamed it for my own game. I had planned to add a subset for the flowers, but I have too many projects in the works.

Sims2 Painting Collection 4 - Glowing

Small collection of 3 glowing paintings on GlamourLife's A Sim Noir.

For painting collections 3, 4, and 5, I did something different.

I added a lite ~glow~ to the TXMT and a visible cloth background. Be aware a painting's brightness can be affected by the wall direction.

Included is a downlow version of joninmobile's smaller repo'd painting from shastakiss and hugelunatic.

The original 1 tile version is found here.

NOTE: The crystals painting is also in collection 5. When I originally shared collection 4 on Discord, I forgot the glow on this painting (see old screenshot above). So now the updated painting is here in collection 4 and in collection 5.

A little test of connecting columns.

Didn't know if it would be easy to recolor or clone connecting columns. Not sure I want to spend time researching this, or making new guids.

However, I do like the looks of these. Might use the recolors as defaults for now? Need a few build objects to tie together The Endless Harvest colors.

Sims2 Painting Collection 5 - Glowing

For painting collections 3, 4, and 5, I did something different.

I wanted to brighten dark paintings (night skies, supernatural creatures), so I added a lite ~glow~ to the TXMT. These paintings also have a visible cloth background to make them less flat looking.

However, I later discovered a painting's brightness is affected by the wall direction: in a room with 4 walls, 2 walls will make a painting brighter. Probably something to do with sunlight direction? I have not tested how mods might affect the brightness.

Here are 11 glowing paintings: 4 on GlamourLife's A Sim Noir, and 7 on Freetime's Artig.

Included are optional downlow versions of joninmobile's smaller 1 tile repo'd paintings from shastakiss and hugelunatic.

If you are a MAC user, the original 1 tile versions found here.

NOTE: My cursor was on the unicorn painting when I took the screenshot. Painting is not see-through in game.

Credits: All of these paintings were found on Pinterest, many untitled or in languages I could not copy to translate. The castle is by Witch of the East.

Sims2 OFB The Lying Fisherman Fountain Recolors

I shared an early version of this on Discord awhile ago. This new version includes 5 recolored LOD (level of detail seen from neighborhood), and tweaked specularity (I couldn't decide which values I liked best).

Sims2 Seasons Kitchen Sculptures Position Fix

A little fix for something that bothered me over the years.

Some kitchen sculptures only fit the center counter slot nicely. This makes the counter unusable by sims (without mods).

But, counters have 3 slots: the center slot and 2 back slots. Why can't Seasons crockery be placed in the back slots? Well, they can, but they hang over the back of the counter. If there is a wall behind the counter, they disappear into the wall. Placed on a shelf, they also get eaten by the wall.

This is because the crockery mesh is not centered. The mesh sits at the back of counters while using the center slot--the slot sims need to use counters.

So, I fixed this. Probably someone fixed before, but I couldn't find it.

Here are 2 default mesh replacements for the Utensil Silo and Crockery. The meshes have been centered. They now position better on shelves and back counter slots without the need of other mods.

NOTE: This mod will not change your textures. I was using a texture from @creesims when I took the preview picture.

I'm aware the Kitchen & Bath Canister is also off-center. I started to fix it, but never finished the project. I wasn't using CEP at the time, and didn't know if CEP did anything to the internal parts. Maybe someone else fixed it?

Sims2 Maxis Floors Recolored

A few months ago, I began testing colors from @pooklet's 2022 The Endless Harvest palette on various build and buy objects.

I chose only 5 colors from the palette (the unique blues, greens, and red): awakened, blazing, gleaming, haunting, and miasma.

Here is a remastered version of 6 Maxis floors I previously shared on Discord. There are 3 stone floors, 2 tile floors, and 1 wood floor in this color palette.

Sims2 FAB GrilledCheese Reframed Repository

A little add-on to use the recolors I recently shared.

The reframed GrilledCheese by CuriusB is a copy of the Grilled Cheese painting, but with a fancier frame from Freetime.

I could not find a downlow version, so I made my own.

This mod does 2 things: lowers the reframed add-on so you can shift up and down with no dark shadows, and repo links the frame to the Travelposter Reframed so it uses those frame recolors.

REQUIRES Travelposter reframed, the frame is now linked to it.
