I honestly can’t wait to see what this career fair weekend brings. I mean, sticking a bunch of kids that hate each other in small rooms for the weekend? There’s bound to be some interesting shit going down. It's the third day of your internship and your mentor brings in some of his producer friends. They start doing drugs while you're in the room.

It’s not Zoe’s first time being exposed to drugs. After being in the entertainment industry for so long, she’s come to expect the random line of coke being done here or a few pills being popped there. However, there was something uncomfortable about being stuck in a room with grown adults as they stood around doing lines of coke and smoking what Zoe assumed to be some type of laced joint. There’s laughter as the joint is passed around, but Zoe pays no attention to it as she furiously scribbles in her notebook, dark hair creating a waterfall between her and the older staff that seem to be too preoccupied with their drugs to pay her any attention. She prefers it that way, though. People on drugs could be unpredictable, so the last thing she wants is to end up being yelled at ( or worse ), because someone wasn’t in the proper state of mind. In a few days, she’ll be free to return to school and never have to return to this sketchy place. So caught up in her thoughts, Zoe doesn’t notice that the room has begun to clear out, her mentor making a beeline for her desk. “You’re doing great, Zoe.” He comments, giving her an awkward pat on the back. He’s met by a silent nod and smile. Of course she’s doing great --- she lets them do their drugs and keeps her mouth shut. What more could they ask for?

My internship isn’t half bad, I’m learning some pretty cool things about baseball. I just wish certain people would learn to mind their business. Only problem is Vince says this is running into his time. Not sure how I’m gonna be able to do both. So where did everyone else end up?

Baseball is boring as hell, so I fail to see why you’re so excited about it. I ended up working under some musician, which is also boring as hell. These placements suck.

It's the second day of your internship and you accidentally delete an important music track when you're trying to lower the volume.

Mistaking the delete button for the volume button was a common mistake. At least that’s what Zoe tells herself as she desperately searches through the recycling box on the laptop she’s working on, every curse word known to man following each click of the mouse. The more clicks, the more irritated she grows. Rubbing at her face, Zoe leans back in her seat, deciding to cut her losses and give up. This is what happens when professionals leave a teenager in charge. Gathering her purse and her notebooks, she stands and leaves the room instead of going and telling someone what she did. Not her music, not her problem.

It's the first day of your internship and a producer tells you he can hook you up with some drugs for free.

Working with a musician wasn’t the most exciting thing in the world, but it at least offered a break from school and some insight on the music industry. Not that Zoe was particularly interested in said industry, but still. Hugging the stack of files she had picked up from an office against her chest, Zoe slowly made her way down a hall, eyes taking in each and every plaque that she passed. Maybe it was because of the drama at school or the prolonged silence at home, but something made the girl feel tense that day. --- and it must have showed, because the moment she reached the office where she was meant to drop the files off at, the producer that sat behind his giant desk took some time out of his day to comment on how she needed to relax. She was slightly aware that it was probably meant to be an innocent comment, but it still managed to rub her the wrong way. “I’m fine.” She assured, setting the files down. “Are you sure? You know, I could always hook you up with a little something to help you relax.” It didn’t take a genius to figure out what he meant. “--- free of charge.” The man added as Zoe turned towards the door, irritation setting in. Did she look like the type of person that did drugs? “I...--- no thank you.” She muttered as she left, swallowing down the spiteful comment that sat on the tip of her tongue. There was no time to be making enemies.

Cry me a river. Not at all hard to believe --- jealousy makes a lot of people avoid people such as myself. That’s okay, though. Not everyone can be as flawless as the legacies, we get it.
