mohiy's older sister fidaa @fidaa-family2 and i talk frequently and i consider her a dear friend. she was just telling me how close mohiy is to her and how amazing of a brother he is. right now they are separated and he has poor internet service, and is getting shadowbanned by tumblr, so he cant post very much.
in light of this, please share and donate to his campaign and get it some traction. mohiy is only 23 years old and has already witnessed so much destruction and devastation. he had just graduate college and hoped to work, travel, and experience life, but has spent nearly the past year struggling to survive and take care of his family, including his mother who suffers from chronic illness. currently mohiy is also sick and theres very little medical treatment available.

Israel has pummeled Lebanon with an unprecedented airstrike campaign in less than three weeks, killing over 1,400 people, injuring nearly 7,500 others and displacing more than one million people from their homes, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
The bombardment, which Israel says is targeting Hezbollah strongholds in the country, marks the world’s “most intense aerial campaign” outside of Gaza in the last two decades, according to the conflict monitoring group Airwars.
Israel’s strikes are occurring at “a level and intensity that Israel’s own allies just simply would not have carried out in the last 20 years,” Emily Tripp, director of the UK-based group, told CNN. She pointed to the United States-led military campaign against ISIS in 2017, where, at the height of the battle for Raqqa – the terror group’s de facto capital – 500 munitions were deployed in a single day.
Over the course of two days, on September 24 and September 25, the Israel military said it used 2,000 munitions and carried out 3,000 strikes.
In comparison, for most of America’s 20-year war in Afghanistan, the US carried out less than 3,000 strikes a year, barring the first year of the invasion, where around 6,500 strikes were carried out – according to data from Airwars analyzed by CNN.
“This isn’t normal,” Tripp said of both the scale and size of Israel’s strikes on Lebanon. While Israel’s air campaign is extremely “unusual,” Tripp said its assault on Gaza over the last year – where nearly 60% of buildings are estimated to have been damaged from Israeli strikes – have normalized such mass assaults. i'm in regular contact with nour and i want to highlight the following:
1) her youngest daughter ghazal, who is only two years old, has developed a speech impediment from the trauma of this situation, and her 13 year-old son muhammad has developed an autoimmune issue from lack of sanitation, constant insect bites and exposure to unclean water, recurring illness, etc.
2) my friends recently sent money to help nour buy winter clothes for her children, the prices of which will knock out a lot of what she received due to high demand and low supply. the costs of food, medical treatment, etc. are still very high.
3) many of nour's extended family members benefit from these funds as well. these are people who were already poor before the war, and now they can't work. all they can do is find internet hotspots and ask for help. that's where we come in.
if reading this distresses you, and if you're mad about tumblr deleting palestinians' accounts, the good news is that you're not helpless: even tiny donations make a difference.

Israel controls all food that enters the Gaza Strip. In 2007, Israeli authorities mandated that Palestinians in Gaza should receive only the minimum of food to avoid malnutrition, featuring 37% fewer fruits and veggies than the average Israeli. Though Israel claims to have ended this policy, as of 2017, 40% of Gaza’s households suffered from severe food insecurity, largely as a result of Israel’s blockade.
And precisely because Israel was never held accountable for this then, it is now blocking all food, water and aid from entering Gaza and causing millions of people in Gaza to face catastrophic levels of starvation, while it continues to enjoy the same level of impunity.
god i fucking hate liberals. im an anarchist (kind of) and hate the bipartisan system and rigged electoral college, but not voting solves nothing. there will still be a president based on the people who do vote/whatever the electoral college decides based on projected + reported figures. its noble to abstain from the broken system, but it doesnt achieve anything. besides that, voting for harris is THE only option, really. the GOP is a terrible option and is going down in flames anyway, and all of the third party candidates are either underfunded or fringe extremists with ghost benefactors. voting harris will at least ensure some rights for minorities, and then we can work on saving everyone. we cant demonstrate our right to protest if we're all dead. we can't stop a war if our own government kills us. at least this way it's slower and we can do some ground work in the meantime.
