finished a big reread of chainsaw man and wow, this page still makes me super mad! there are 2 implications here…

a. asa got over her sex repulsion entirely offscreen and is now suddenly cool with yoru using her body to fuck denji

or

b. the nice conclusion to their dynamic last chapter that showed that yoru still cares for asa’s wellbeing doesn’t matter because she’ll still lie to denji so she can use asa’s body as a sex object for her own gain

unfortunately, it seems like the first implication is what actually happened. and although the ending (which i still didn’t like on re-read!) makes nothing really matter, asa’s handling after the falling devil arc is just so disappointing to me! i don’t know, i just felt like ranting, this reread has really got me thinking and this is my annoying rant account (i swear i like stuff 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁)

i honestly think the way thomas astruc is dealing with this plotline is pathetic. he writes like everyone knows adrien’s chat noir and they’re all aware of the events of chat blanc, when they’re really not! so many of miraculous’ plots points feel so dragged out because thomas is afraid of genuine conflict that he himself set up. like brother you wrote it that way! imagine if all writers were like “noo we can’t do this it’d make the character super upset and stuff!” that’s what conflict is. don’t set up conflicts in your story if you’re too scared to deal with the consequences in said story!!!! i don’t know, it just peeves me. it feels like adrien cant feel anything, i miss when he had more of a character yknow? im probably too passionate about this but i love adrien too much 😞
