i truly need a plot where like muse a is this kid whose mom left the fam when they were a baby, so they grew up with their dad who’s a little lax with the parenting. so they basically run around buckwild and reckless, doing whatever they want whenever they want until they run into muse b, who’s just moved to the same town/started at the same college. they’re super sweet and optimistic and generally innocent, and muse a feels themselves becoming fond of this sunny little weirdo who seems to have latched onto them, someone who has the same zest for life that they do, but in a different way. and one day, while muse b is chattering on about their perfect family back home and showing off pictures of those white picket fences, muse a recognizes the woman muse b is proudly describing as their mother. because she’s the same face from their only photo of their mother.
