just saw a 'comments' tab on someones blog you know where the following and likes tabs would be if enabled and it was just showing all the replies theyve made on peoples posts. this is fascinating when did this feature come out
if you've made replies on posts there is now a tab on your blog showing every post youve replied to and your reply.
if this is not what you want, either go to your blog and click comments and disable it from there or just go to your individual blogs setting pages. just change it from blue to grey if you dont want everyone to see your replies AND the post you're replying to
PLEASE BE ADVISED that it is set to disabled for blogs that have not made any replies but it will turn ON if you reply with that blog in the future.! i just tested it with my main, which was greyed out but it turned on the moment i left a test reply
figured i'd get the word out bc i have not seen a single mention of this and i'm sure there are plenty of people who maybe comment on things they don't want on display for everyone to see on their blog lol. you can still look at your replies with it toggled off just no one else can, like locking the following and likes list
so for some reason this feature was actually announced on the tumblr engineering blog. interesting choice not to reblog it to the staff or tumblr blog, esp considering they asked for user input on how to implement it, but i suppose considering the response to the last update maybe the replies would be too overwhelming...
so couple of clarifications. comments are disabled as default for primary blogs that have their likes disabled. they are seemingly enabled for all other blogs that have replied to posts
posts you comment on may show on your followers 'for you' page if you leave your replies publically available. they may, in the future, show in on your followers dashboard if your follower goes to their dash settings and enables this. apparently, if your likes are enabled, your followers can already see those on the dash if they've gone into preferences and selected to do so, which I was unaware of, and that seems to be disabled at default, but it's possible i disabled it previously and forgot about it ig
This often happens with feral cats! Meowing into adulthood is something cats learn for interacting with humans. If they don’t know any humans until they’re already adults, they just make whatever noises spring to their throat and you get… *gestures*
ohhh okay see what you did wrong is neurons are supposed to fire while you watch things. you're supposed to comprehend the information presented and think about what it means
did you know that things characters do in stories are often supposed to tell you something about their personality or motivations. did you know that elements in stories wouldn't be there if the author didn't put them there on purpose, and so there's usually some kind of intention behind them.
I feel like a lot of the confusion surrounding Abstraction as a Suicide Metaphor could be answered by the fact that suicides are not always successful.
and that failed suicide attempts are likely to leave one in a state of permanent disability depending on the method utilized
I know this isn't what you were referring to but do you think this could apply to Kinger who operates similarly to abstractions? That his whole sanity in darkness thing comes from a failed or incomplete abstraction attempt?
It could also just be hinting that Abstraction operates as a form of severe mental illness internally similar to what Kinger has but more extreme & external too. I think the parallels between them are interesting.
Also I would love if Jax got to survive it & come back even if she was still altered or disabled from it.
It's been just over a year since Deltarune chapters 3 & 4 released! I did the 3D work, which mostly means Tenna 📺 I figured it's been long enough to share some "behind the scenes" stuff, starting with a look at the Maya file for his static poses...
I'd individually render the poses to get that early 3D shine ✨ Here's some of them at their original resolutions! I would work from text descriptions from Toby, and sometimes there'd be a Paint sketch to help out. Gigi drew the concept that I modeled from and some poses too!
I had a lot of fun pushing myself to match the dynamic poses Toby had in mind for Tenna - making him so crazy and expressive was something I couldn't have done without his prompts. He'd draw the faces on afterward too, which really brought Tenna to life!

There was a time when I was struggling to capture what he wanted for these specific Tenna poses… Until Toby acted them out himself, and I thought, "Ah, it's like that. I understand." and then I was able to make them just how he pictured them.
When looking through the renders and choosing what to share, I laughed at these two… Remember when Tenna had a gun? Remember when he bent over in a very specific way that might remind you of another, different image? No? Maybe you don't…? Well. Don't worry about it.
These ones are cute… Tenna is pretty cute sometimes! Has anyone ever thought this? Actually, before people knew he was going to be a strange 3D sprite the Whole Time, I was worried people wouldn't like the style and it'd sour people's views on him. I'm glad that didn't happen.
Toby thought it would be funny to have Tenna do some really smooth, mocapped animations sometimes - specifically free to use ones that often pop up in other things. An extra funny part to me is how many frames these take up in the game, and how his tails are stuck to his legs…
Speaking of mocap, Toby wanted Tenna to use custom mocap animations as far back as 2016 - Ten(na) years ago! I got an Xbox Kinect at the time and learnt how to set this up, but then never used it. Here's a look at messing with mocaped stuff again in 2022. So Normal.
Don't bother trying to help him here, he's just being dramatic 🙄
I particularly like these poses - I think I improvised most of these just based off the context they get used in… I always liked posing his tie and coat tails as if they were also parts of his body he could move. Which I guess they are?
After I rendered out the individual poses in high quality, I'd force the color palette to be limited to just a few shades and then I'd shrink the result down to pixel sized sprites. Like these! I'd tidy them up a little, but they'd really get improved on at the pixel scale by Clairvoire.
As well as Tenna's sprites, I also worked on his intro "movie"…! Seeing people be completely overloaded by this on first playthroughs would always make me laugh. In game, there's a ton of extra editing done by Everdraed, but my unedited cut looks like this ⬇️
This was the entire storyboard I had to work from, and I'm realizing now that there's the note "put him in car etc" that I never did and actually don't know what it would mean exactly. Working on this had me listen to the accompanying audio many times, but it's good so it's okay.

For the 3D Ralsei clip from the intro, Toby really wanted it to look a certain way, and drew more sketches for guiding me with this part than any other. They genuinely helped.
Remember how Toby's original storyboard has the note "covered in slime and shrinks"? That meant I had to learn how to make 3D slime. You can see my tech advancing here.
I'm really happy with how the final Tenna animation at the end of the intro movie turned out! It wouldn't look as good if it wasn't for some 2D animation to reference from SmallBuStudio, so thank you to them for the help! Tenna is cute… Huh, I already said that…?
Phew!! That's a lot of Tenna. I hope it was fun to look through my posts! Oh, one more thing - the Fangamer Mr. Tenna Figurine just straight up uses the 3D model I made, which I think is really funny and cool and nice. Check it out if you want! Thanks for reading!
I think you are all 12 years old, this is your first fandom, or you are suffering from immense brain rot in the media literacy part of your brain. I am only half joking about all that.
Anyway my thoughts on the tadc finale
I’m going to need to wait for the youtube version in order to rewatch and properly analyse the episode but my god. The stuff we see in Jax’s mind is not meant to paint to her as an irredeemable abuser. I’m fairly sure it’s all the ways she’s learnt to push people away. They aren’t fantasies of violence and sexual harassment. It’s guilt and shame and fear. Each defence as an aspect of herself.
Think about it. She blames herself for Ribbit’s abstraction and likely Kaufmo’s too. Her mind is populated by scenarios in which the others have abstracted, with at least one being directly her fault again. Why on earth would these be fantasies and not scenes of guilt and shame and denial?
Just because you are not being spoonfed doesn’t mean you should jump to the most superficial conclusions.
Because why on earth would Gooseworx’s thesis be that a transfem coded haracter commits suicide off screen and is actually an abusive pos through and through? Why? Could it possibly be that she was communicating a different message? Maybe the execution wasn’t the best, but c’mon.
Jax feels like a cautionary tale. A warning about what can happen if you continue to push people away. A story that encourages you to accept help and care. And that even when you’re not in a place to receive it, it will be there regardless. Waiting for you. People love you and will do the work to care for you. You are not unlovable.
Jax was also really young. 22 years old and homeless. The circus fucked her up further. I don’t the message was ever meant to be that this kid was unlovable. More like saying, hey if even everything goes wrong, people will still be there for you.
Remember that before, abstractions were thrown into a cellar to be forgotten. But they didn’t do that this time. They made a safe and calming space and kept Jax company. They showed how much they cared even when Jax was hypothetically least able to receive it but also when she needed it most.
Been almost 10 hours of ceaseless grind and I've got nothing but a sketch of the bg, characters and lightning plan, but I'm pretty happy with it so far! To be fair the floor planning took quite a while. I'm not sure why I decided I'm going to do a fully og landscape shot instead of simply going through the show to find a background shot I could directly reference and then cram people into.
I'm gonna take a break now. Gonna boil myself some instant noodles, drink water, go to the toilet and blink a bit, because I am human and those are things I must do. Apparantly?
I don't think I'm gonna manage this piece finished today after all. I'll have to continue at least tomorrow too after my... I'm not sure what to call it in english. A work showing? Whatever.
